1. It was great to see the support for the Pirates from around the district and area last night.  With all the talk going back and forth before and during the season, I think it's the coolest thing that when the playoffs start fans unite behind the district representatives, whoever they might be.  I'll be there tonight backing the 'Dogs!  D-O-G-G-I-E-S!  Come on Doggies, do your BEST!
2. Yeah, you're probably right, kinda hard for me to unwind/sleep after a game  like tonight though
3. Well let's see, Vidor was predicted to place 7th in an 8 team district, so they weren't predicted to go anywhere.  When they punched a playoff ticket..it was one and done.  Now I imagine it will be two and through.
4.
I ain't running.I'm here to take all flak.Lost a pic-em,made some friends.Too old to worry bout the small talk, better team won tonight convincingly. No love lost between myself and Crosby.Funny I saw no purple among da red.Where were all the Coog backers, crowd was less than expected, shocked, and set on their hands, quiet as a housemouse.Vidor fans are a riot, cool, and loud.Upper deck was rocking all night.Wife says who won tonight?Vidor kicked arse. She laughed as she brought my old crow on da rocks ;D ;D
Old Crow on the rocks....LOL
5.

Where are ya'll hearing Vidors last Play-off win was in '64...I could be wrong, but I grew up hearing the '78 team won district and won enough play off games to play in the Astrodome.  It was b4 my time but thats what I've always heard.  Great game by the Pirates tonight, wish I could have been there but at least got to hear the game on this site, and am thankful for that....Will be at the Nederland game Tmw night rooting for the Dawgs!
Vidor won the district championship but was eliminated during bi-district.  That game was played in the 'Dome.
Right you are Grad, played Aldine in the 'Dome in '78, lost Bryan Harris, the team's leading running back on the opening kickoff and it was all downhill from there. Will be going to the Ned game tomorrow night to support the 'Dawgs and see 20-4A pick if win #2.
6. The Coogs did have some big & tall linemen. #69 was big enough to be on a D1 line.
7. Great atmosphere at the game with all the area support, Vidor side was full.  (Would like to know the attendance total).  The twins are the real deal and are elusive and super hard to tackle.  The Cougars have a very explosive big play offense, but seem to let emotions get the best of them sometime, several personal foul/roughing penalties throughout the game. I can see where they will be a force in 19-4A for the next couple of years.
8. As a Vidor fan I really appreciated the support from around the area, just in our section there were folks from PNG, WOS, Ozen, Central and Silsbee.  It was a great showing of support.
9. If Bollinger plays, IMO he won't be 100%.  I believe he came back too early when he played in the Central game.
10.
Honestly I see Vidor winning this game. Its in Vidor and I don't think Coach Matthews is gonna want to go into the playoffs with another loss. I don't see him holding anyone out for this game. He knows they need this victory to bring up their spirits and doubt. I look for Vidor to win by 10.
I agree with your take on this game, no let up from the Pirates.  A play-in game for Livingston so they have a lot more at stake.  Playing at home I think balances it out  for Vidor.  Toss up with the home field giving a slight edge to the Pirates.
11. I think hate is too strong a word and it's used a lot on this site.  Success of one team or another, (such as PNG)  will ratchet up the competition and war of words a little more....but hate, not for me.
12. Playoff game for Livingston @ Vidor next week.
13.

I will give credit to the PNG team tonight.  They outplayed our Pirate team.  But the above posts really help explain all the PNG hate in Southeast Texas. But laugh it up.....Ya'll get the win tonight!
most of these posts would not be here if not for mytwocents running his mouth all week.
You're probably right there, and you gotta be ready for the consequences if things don't go your way.  This was a tough game to lose, but the Indians were the better team tonight.  I was proud of the boys for coming back to close the gap though and hope they can get a win over a tough Livingston team next week.  Good luck to PNG.
14. Well, you were playing against a pretty explosive offense and a team with a lot on the line tonight.
15.
Alright, the dust is settled and now it's time to give some props to both teams. I have got to hand it to Vidor. I walked into this game thinking Vidor was overrated and that PN-G was going to prove it. Vidor's defense seemed almost too motivated in the first quarter; they kept having off sides and pass interference penalties, and it's obvious that they weren't controlling themselves very well. In the second quarter, it looked like Mathews had gotten them to calm down and there weren't as many penalties, but Vidor started giving up long runs and even a two point conversion. After the half, Vidor looked better, but they came out of the inflatable skull looking flat and demoralized. At that point, I was starting to think the game was over, and another Indian touchdown along with a goose egg on Vidor's side of the board at the end of the third affirmed that notion. Through the third quarter, it was looking like I was right and Vidor really was overrated. The fourth quarter proved me wrong. When Vidor switched quarterbacks and finally started having success in the air, I started getting worried. It was obvious that the momentum was shifting and the Pirates had some wind in their sails (no pun intended). When the Pirates brought in that two point conversion to make the score 22-15, I just about had a heart attack and I'm pretty sure I did have one on that last personal foul penalty against the Indians. Our defense seemed to be crumbling in frustration towards the end of the game, and for a moment I thought I'd be eating crow with this post. Vidor has the ability to score quickly and take advantage of what defenses give them when they knuckle down and focus. No team should overlook them. Good luck Pirates and go beat Livingston. The Indians had a great game for the first three quarters. I don't think anyone expected to be up 15-0 at the half and 22-0 at the end of the third. That's a real testament to the improvements our defense has made since last year. After the Ozen, LC-M and Vidor games, I think it's obvious at this point that the Indian defense is once again a force to be reckoned with in District 20-4A, providing that they can play consistently. Now go wrap up district and beat Central. I want to catch another PN-G game at some point this year and I won't be home again until Thanksgiving. Scalp 'em!
Good post and good luck to the Indians next week and beyond.
16. Need a couple of first downs.  Ozen can score in a hurry.
17. Passed all 4 downs from the PNG 36????  Were they out of timeouts?  Congratulations to the Indians on the win and to the Pirates for coming back from 22 down.
18.
PN-G leads 22-0 over Vidor late in the 3rd. Looks like the game next week will get ugly fast!
22-15 now, late in the 4th
19. D-O-G-G-I-E-S, c'mon Doggies, do your BEST!!!
20. If Central can eliminate the fumbles and receivers can hang onto the ball, I believe that Mitchell being back at QB gives the edge to the Jags.
21. D O G G I E S, C'mon Doggies, do your BEST! ;D
22. I can verify that Marrin Tolbert played QB @ Vidor in '73 & '74.  Graduated in '75.  As far as the 82 yard pass,  I don't know, but he did have a strong arm.
23. Nederland has a very good defense and Ozen may get beat, but they will score more than 6 points (and not just adding the PAT either).
24.

 Can we get back on the subject. (Separation night in 20-4a). Does anybody even realize that Ozen beat Livingston yesterday. This could possibly be bad for the Vidor Pirates.
Or it could be bad for the PNG Indians.
And Livingston.
