I hate to break everyone's hearts...
I would be more focused on this year right now.
Amen! -
I believe Nederland will take the DC, they have played the meat of the district schedule early, but could face stumbling blocks with Ozen, LCM & Central. Livingston will be in as well and after last year, it would be foolish to count PNG out of the mix, they have the ability to run the table the rest of the way. Vidor and Ozen are in the thick of the race with LCM certainly capable of getting in. All remaining games for the contenders will be critical and no one can afford to take a night off in 20-4A this year.

Lumberton vs. Vidor Game Thread/VIDOR WINS 30-26!!!
Tim Riggins replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Yeah, what I thought too. They looked a little complacent after going up big and the offense misses Bollinger's speed on the outside for sure. Lumberton found some running room in the 4th quarter to close the gap. -
Lumberton vs. Vidor Game Thread/VIDOR WINS 30-26!!!

That was one crazy TD pass for Lumberton's last score. Great scramble by the Raider QB then as he's going down just flings the ball into the middle of the field where an open receiver just happened to be. What an exciting final 5 minutes. -
Lumberton vs Vidor. . . Predictions
Tim Riggins replied to Raider42's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
If Bollinger plays, the edge goes to Vidor, if he is still out the gap between the two teams closes considerably on offense. Defensively the Pirates will be tested as Lumberton put up nearly 500 yards on LCM. -
OK then, "squeaks by, edges past, narrowly defeats". Better?

PORT NECHES-GROVES VS. LIVINGSTON/ Livingston wins!!
Tim Riggins replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I had heard somewhere that they were going to mix the pass in more with the Slot-T this year, but this definitely wasn't the game. I figured they were going to be good this year with all the offensive returnees they had and the success they had in '10. Looking at PNG stats, looks like the defense may be a little behind the O. -
Don't read too much into Livingston's thumping of the Indians. The Lions generally run a little below the radar due to geography, but they will likely be the district champion this year and the other 3 playoff spots are pretty much up for grabs. Just look at the scores of the other 3 games, all close and down to the final seconds and OT in the case of Ozen & Central.

Lions running the Slot-T exclusively or do they have some spread O mixed in? -
WHAT ANNOYS YOU AT A FOOTBALL GAME.
Tim Riggins replied to speveto's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Cheerleaders throwing the mini footballs into the stands at the beginning of the third quarter, I mean the game is on and folks are standing up trying to catch the balls, blocking the view of the field. If you gotta throw 'em, throw 'em after the bands are through and before third quarter action starts or between quarters, not during the game. -
Kirbyville vs. Vidor Game Thread...Vidor Wins
Tim Riggins replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Kirbyville put up a good fight and never quit, the 'Kats just had no answer for Vidor's running game. The Pirates moved up and down the field at will but still hurt themselves with drive-killing fumbles and penalties. Kirbyville has some offensive power and should continue to improve going into district. All in all a good clean game played by both teams. -
Texas High must be way down this year
I don't know if they're "down" or not, but they are picked to come in third in their district behind Sherman and Sulphur Springs. I do know that they have a big team with some speed. -

As Yogi might, say looks like "deja vu all over again". -
Matthews said earlier this week that Texas High would be the best team the Pirates would face this year and would be a great early season test....sounds like the Tigers will be a tough out.
