Yep VP . It didn't look good for us  :( I'm still proud of the Lumberton girls effort. They were down by 23 in the 3rd and never gave up.  Good luck Friday

I expected this game to much closer  :-\  Big Sandy must have had a let down after winning the Woodville tournament. Or maybe the difference in a 1-A school playing a quality 3-A school showed up here. Were any players unable to make the game?

Well, what can you say if you are from Lumberton?  ;D I think it's kinda neat that we have the #1 ranked team in the state in our district. I was glad I got to see them play. Ozen has a very talented team and should make a deep run in the play offs, if not win the whole thing. On a brighter note the Lumberton JV played one of their best games of the season in a close loss to Ozen 44-41. This team played with only 7 players. 1 junior and six sophmores. The Lumberton varsity also has two talented freshmen starting guards.  :)

It looks like it is going to be another good year for Big Sandy  :)

Lumberton won the first game 26-24. Livingston came back to win the second game. Lumberton won the third coming from behind in a close game. Livingston came back to win a close game four. Livingston took the final game 15-12 in a very hard fought battle. My hats off to both teams! Great game! Hang in there Lady Raiders! We are proud of you! Livingston 3 Lumberton 2

I'm asking a question concerning what appears to be a basic rule of conduct in high school volleyball. The following is taken out of a high school volleyball rule book: [b]Referees and coaches share responsibility for resolving situations where a spectator disrupts play. f)  Warnings, penalties and disqualifications are administered using yellow and red cards by the referee for misconduct of players and coaches. Warning - a yellow card is administered for a first minor offense. No penalty is assessed. Penalty - a red card is administered for a second minor offense by the same person or a single serious offense. A point/side-out is awarded to the opponent. Disqualification - yellow and red cards are administered simultaneously for a third minor offense or a single flagrant offense. The offender is prohibited from further participation in the match. A point/side-out is awarded to the opponent [/b]  While I have only been watching my girls play for the past four years, I have yet to see a single yellow card. I have seen some very bad behavior by coaches and players such as: throwing down and breaking a clip board, yelling at the referee, yelling at a student line judge, intimidating student line judges and cursing out loud. What warrants the mythical "yellow card"???

Ozen won in 5. The Lady Raiders almost pulled off the upset. Ozen took the first game. Lumberton rallied back to win the next two games. Ozen won the fourth in a close one. It was decided to play the 5th game to 15. Lumberton got out to a quick lead. Ozen rallied back to tie it up at 14-14. Ozen won 17-15. Great job by both teams. NOT so great job by the referees and Ozen Coach and whoever the lady was that interupted the final game coming out of the stands to talk to the referee. I'm not mentioning this because I thought there were bad calls. I'm mentioning this because the refs allowed things to get out of hand. The Ozen coach should have been carded for her behavior. She yelled and stomped her feet towards the Lumberton student calling lines. So much so, that she twisted her ankle.  ;D Then, some lady from Ozen comes out of the stands to interupt the final game for several minutes talking to the ref on the floor. I was told she was an administrator. Doesn't matter. The refs should have taken control of this situation and did NOTHING.

Congratulations to the LHS Lady Raiders! Two weekends ago at HF , the varsity placed 2nd to a very tough Nederland team. This past Saturday the LHS Freshman and JV both took first place. Both teams played PNG for the championship. Both games were hard fought battles. WTG LADY RAIDERS!  :D

Has anyone heard if they have selected someone yet???? Or do they have a short list??? Seems like they would try to get this done soon. :-\

Congratulations Ozen Lady Panthers on a great season! You represented Southeast Texas well. Once again, proving that 20-4A has one of the toughest Districts in Texas. Way to go Ladies!

Can anyone confirm that this game is going to be played in Willis at 6pm tonight? GOOD LUCK BIG SANDY! From Maegan , Morgan and Jimmy Celestine. I'm going to this one. I missed a great one last Friday. Four OT's!

I have not seen either team play this year. I did see Neches win State in Austin last year. I'm not sure how many seniors they lost but I know their point guard was returning. She has got speed! She was selected All Tournament MVP at State. It should be a great game.

I have not seen either team play this year. I was at the playoff game in Silsbee last year. I was very disappointed in the game that I saw the Woodville team play. It was not their best effort. It was kind of hard to believe after seeing them a few times that year. SO, I am just hoping to see a great game between two great teams. Bring your best game girls!
