  1. GOOD LUCK BIG SANDY !!! From Maegan, Morgan and Jimmy Celestine. We had the pleasure of practicing with most of these girls at the Alabama Coushatta Gym a couple summers ago. I could see the talent back then. I'm glad these girls are doing well and the young ladies from the the reservation are representing the Tribe well. Congratulations!!!
  2. Hill Guy- Vidor lost to Nederland Tusday night leaving the door wide open for the 4th spot. Vidor Plays at Lumberton, Ozen @ home, @ LCM and Central @ home. Lumberton has Vidor @ home, @ PNG, Livingston @ home and Nederland away. Need to win 3 of 4, one of those being Vidor to secure 4th. Nederland has PNG @ home, @ Livingston, @ Central and Lumberton @ home. Should be interesting. The Lady Raiders just need to take care of business Friday. Good Luck Girls!
  3. I agree with you too Slam. Very inconsistant calls. This was a game that could have went either way in the last minute of play. The Lady Bears played a great game and have nothing to hang their heads about. I look forward to three more years of battling with the Bears. My two girls are Freshmen(twins). Good Luck to Yall the rest of the season!
  4. GREAT GAME! The Lady Raiders trailed the whole game until the last minute. They never gave up. They were down 10 early in the 4th. Great team effort and a clutch 3 pt shot by Jones put them ahead with a minute left in the game. Our only Senior, point guard Sandy Drake, just kept trying. Juniors, Haley Jones, Shelby Bingham, Amber Vargas and Kindle Johnson all played well. Sophomores Erin Miller, Taylor Harvill and Katrina Holt all played strong. Freshmen newcomer * Maegan Celestine pitched in down the stretch with 7 points, 5 coming in the 4th in her first game with the Varsity. I'm super proud of all of the Lady Raiders and Coaches. Freshmen and Jv won as well.
  5. The Jan 3rd rankings have THREE  20-4A Teams in the top ten. I know things can change, but it does get your attention. Especially when you are one of the OTHER teams in the District.
  6. Lumbertons game plan was excellent! They were only down 5 at half. They gave up too many turnovers and missed too many good shot opportunities. This game could have been much closer. My hats off to the Coach and the Lady Raiders! I believe they will surprise some folks this season. Also, the Lady Raider Freshmen and JV won their games in very decisive fashion.
  7. Lumberton 48  West Brook 43 Lumberton was down by 10 at the end of the third. They scored 10 points in the last 2 1/2 minutes. Way to go girls!
  8. I'm very proud of the effort that the Warriors displayed friday night. It was one deserving of a win. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way. The Warriors were much improved. The offense was moving the ball and made some impressive drives for their scores. They didn't convert any of there extra point attempts, going for two each time. The Warriors special teams need work. They gave up a kick off return for a touch down after their second touchdown. 13-12. The offense responded with another impressive drive to put the Warriors up 18-13.The defense played great as well. They held the Pirates to minimal gains for most of the game and had what should have been a game winning 4th down stop near their own 20 yard line with less than 2 minutes remaining. Then the unimaginable happened....... After taking a knee on first down, they ran from the gun on second and handed off to the left side. Wide open hole and then the next thing I see after the hit is a loose ball. The Pirates covered the ball. A few plays later, the Pirates score and convert for 2 extra points. 21 - 18 Pirates. Keep you chin up Warriors! Great effort. Big improvements! Definately going in the right direction. Sometimes sucess is not always measured in wins. Just keep getting better each week! We are proud of you! The wins will come.
  9. If you are reffering to the Warren-Deweville game I can understand your question. Even though I was sitting on Warren's side, I was confussed as well. I had to watch the game film and then it made sense to me. Yes, the kick was blocked. It was blocked by two players coming from the kickers right and up the middle. However, the third player that came in from the kickers left never made contact with the ball and hit the kicker up high. This all happening simultainiously, made it very hard to see. The official that made the call was to the kickers left and had an excellent view. He made the correct call.
  10. That's funny Elhector but, I'm talking High School football here.
  11. When a player or the players parents move to another town within the district, how often do coaches try to prevent that player from being eligible to play? Also, if a coach does this repeatedly, shouldn't that raise a red flag with UIL? Just curious. I know there will be various reason why parents move. Some are ligit and some because of disagreements with coaches etc.  It seems like some coaches think they own these young men. Any comments???
  12. I don't know anything about Deweyville. I'm pullin for Warren to earn their first W of the season friday night. It is their Homecoming so they should be playing with a little extra somethin. Not that they havent been giving it their all. It's just been a rough start for this young team. They will turn it around. I have confidence in these boys and the coaches. Developing a winning attitude is easier said than done. These boys need all the encouragement that you can give them Warrior fans!
  13. Great point Bucky!!! That makes me even prouder of our boys AND girls in all of our sucesses. L-Town doesnt use our lack of numbers as an excuse. We use it as motivation! A scappy bunch of atheletes here in this town. GO RAIDERS!
  14. Lumberton 0 Crosby 3
  15. Lumberton over East Chambers 3-2 Lumberton JV and Freshmen over East Chambers 2-0 Lumberton Varsity had to fight back after falling behind 1 - 2 to a very good EC team.
  16. Maybe there is some hope......... The freshmen won. The JV won. Just maybe Jasper can win even with ???? how many freshmen starting?  ::) All I have read about Jasper is a bunch of excuses. First it was the QB being hurt. Then it was 9 freshmen starting on varsity or 5 or 3  ;D  So, I guess if Lumberton wins there will be an excuse for it. How about just strap on your helmet and pads and show up to play? I tend to focus on the positive things that our team brings to the field. We are picked to fight it out for last place in our district. No pressure on us  ;D The L-TRAIN will be making a stop in Lumberton friday night. Let's get this season started! Go Raiders!
  17. Dayton 3 Lumberton 0
  18. I have not seen West Hardin. I saw Warren in one scrimmage. They have a new coach and new system that they are still learning. I believe that once the boys buy in and learn the offense, it will be potent. They have a young talented QB and a few good recievers. The defense also needs some improving but showed some potential as well. Typical preseason stuff. I'll take Warren in this one by a touchdown.
  19. I'm very proud of the Lady Raiders for bouncing back. Great job in the HF Tourney girls!
  20. Lumberton 3 Westbrook 0
  21. Aug 13, 2010 Westbrook at Lumberton.  All three Lumberton teams won. Freshman 2-0 JV 2-1 Varsity 3-0 Good job Lady Raiders!
  22. Lumberton over Kountze. Freshmen 2-0  JV 2-0  Varsity 3-1 Way to go Lady Raiders!
