Good job LADY RAIDERS!

I didn't get to watch any of the Varsity games. Lumberton Freshman and JV won both of there games. JV over Memorial and ummm Silsbee. ;D

What age group?

Congratulations! to the Lady Hornets. They came to play and showed no fear of the undefeated Lady Eagles. There is a lesson to be learned from this. I took my two 8th grade girls to watch this game. I thought what we would see was a tough Woodville team beginning it's journey to State. What we saw was a determined Hardin team that played there hearts out and came out on top. We have all heard it said many times..... "Any team can be beat on any given day". You have to believe. Classic David vs Goliath. I have always told my girls you have to believe that you have a chance EVERY time you step on the court. You could see it in the Hardin girls eyes. They wanted this game! The Lady Eagles seem to have an attitude of entitlement. With that said the Lady Eagle still derserve credit for their acomplishments. A 30-0 regular season is unbelievable! 30-1 is heart breaking going out in the first playoff game.

Well, thats about the way they looked last friday at home against Hemphill. Not sure what's up with that. What was the final score?

The schedule I have shows a date of Feb. 8 but also shows a day of tuesday. Did they play last night or do they play tonight?

1st 14 - 4 Woodville Half 29-15 Woodville 3rd 38-28 Woodville Final 46 - 33 Woodville.  Hemphill was able to cut it to 6 late in the 3rd but two of their girls fouled out and Woodville was able to pull away at the end with some steals and break aways by Taylor. The bright spot for Hemphill was a freshman guard that hit a few 3 pointers to get them back into the game. It was a good game but not a great game. McNeil looked good at the post but Woodville's passing was not very good on this night. Woodville did not look very polished for this late in the season. Maybe it was not there best game that night. They certainly have talent and should go deep in the playoffs.

I'm going to the game tonight. I've been reading posts from others about this team and their potential to go back to State. I gotta see them for myself! It will be fun to go back to my old High School (Woodville). Although, the gym that they play in now is MUCH nicer than the one we had back in the day. ;D

How many Seniors Aiden? 4 or 5?

I don't know Hemphill's District record. All I know is that they played Woodville a close game in Hemphill.

I have got to see this Woodville team play. I have a feeling this game will not be as close as the last one. Predictions?

Eagles by at least 10. Very impressive record for those seniors! I think I will make the drive from Lumberton to go see my old High School play Hemphill.

Update 20 - 4A District standings anyone? I believe Lumberton is 4 - 5

It's very difficult for a new coach to come to a new school and have immediate success. Add to that, injuries to starters and it becomes even harder. What I do know, is this. Coach Gholson has been coming to the Jr High practices and relaying to the coaches at that level the kind of things that he wants them to work on. I was pleased to see that. Lumberton parents have had great expectations as most parents do. A recent trip to the State Tournament makes those expectations grow. I hope we can have patience enough to give this coach a chance. It is easier for me to say this with my girls being in Jr high. I feel for the seniors and all of the girls that are trying very hard to turn things around in L-town. Keep your chin up girls and keep trying hard!

Bad Refs or not, it sounds like the Lady Eagles were tested a little in this game and still came out on top. They need to be tested. I hope they go back to state. I'm a Woodville grad. Keep up the good work girls!
