Well if goes "as expected" then I'll shed tears for the seniors. Tell everyone else we'll start over next year. It wont be a tragedy. Even the seniors will hang it up and jump into their track shoes and grab their bats!! Seriously let's see if we can give yall a game, Hardin. If I did then Id say why bother letting the two schools play tonite. Or the next round. Fast forward one week and let's go watch NW at play in regionals! Again. :P

I looked back to a post made by<eagles2010> about this time year last year. They said gilder, gill & the 2nd string wouldn't be successful this year because 2010 graduated. How no one from jv could fill in after such a loss. How this years team wouldn't get the past the 2nd round IF they EVEN made it to the playoffs at all.  It was a shaky start with a different team different coach but here they are. It is quite possible that Hardin could come in and have a blow out game LIKE LAST YEAR but this team isn't last year. They have fought for & earned every win this year. Not to many blowouts but last second shots by gilder or gill or the nameless others and even once by the girl that moved up from jv!! What woodville did learn last year was rankings & 30-0 doesn't mean crap once the first round of playoffs start. Rankings end after the last district game and every team starts off #0 at 0-0. Only 5 girls playing against 5 other girls for 4 quarters. DO YOU BELIEVE IN KARMA?

Way to go Lady Lions!! Good Luck in the playoffs! Good luck Polk county teams.

Good Tournament for the lady Eagles. Finally headed in the right direction. Don't be afraid to make mistakes but correct them and win the game. Said it before, 1 win a game 2 win a tournament 3 WIN DISTRICT  one game at a time. WE BELIEVE!

The poor showing from the BC game seemed to finally motivate the players. The shooting % was so low it was embarrassing to watch! Saturday the Lady Eagles played in the host gym with little officiating and played hard AS A TEAM for 7 quarters!! Only one fouled out and most finished with 4 fouls while managing to send 4 or 5 players from other team to the bench. It was exciting to watch the TEAM win instead of 5 talented individuals lose. Keep it up for the rest of the season. Woodville by 15 at BC.

Well with that statement, I think we (all area teams from this region) learned that being ranked and being predicted to make it to Austin doesn't always hold true. Lesson learned! LE was much improved tonite. Even came back from 17 behind but conditioning still an issue. Just a few more games of figuring out which players with what situation. I too have high hopes and think tabc got it wrong! Woodville, Hemphill & then #3.  But first, win games, win tournament, win district then ONE game at a time. Fight for each one. Win each one.

They looked pretty raw out there but I understand they only had three days of practice. I think things will get better as the girls get used to playing with each other again and as they get better conditioned. Gilder Gill Barlow Long and Williams look to take this team back into playoffs.

[/quote] were you at the same game? Mia grabbed rebounds that the others couldn't get. Caused two turnovers for hardin. Yeah she needs to learn to pass it off to the point. But how much did EXPERIENCE do for us??!! You know why the underclassmen on hardins team did well? Because they have been rotating in and out. Perhaps if our players did that, when the starters get in trouble the win/loss wouldn't have been on their shoulders only. It's great that you support 2010 but the non seniors don't need your comments putting down the future of LE basketball. Just makes you look immature! If Brooke and meisha could have just taken a break and watched the game for just one minute, they could have adjusted the strategy but also it my opinion that the coach should take responsability for the things that didn't work. and tonite many things didn't work against hardin. To Meisha, Brooke, Kayla,Ashley. Thank you for bringing us great basketball for 4 yrs.

I am all woodville and we talked about 2010 players being the team. coach B lived by them and died by them. Hardin came to play. What I saw was no fear of our 30-0 perfect season. Our starting five got on the floor and that's it. When things got worse, the harder they tried, the more fustration & fatigue came in. Barlow (2012) came in and gave a lil spark and then starting 5 fizzled out again. There were 6 other players on the bench that could have just given them FRESH legs and wanted to play. They couldn't have done any worse!! The coach lived by starters and died by them. Yes, I thought our girls were going to Austin again. I already made my plans for the next 2 weekends too. I expected a storybook ending and it didn't happen. TO HARDIN: You came to play, played an outstanding game and I wish the team continued success. Done with BB til next year. Beware... LE BASKETBALL ISNT OVER!

As a matter of fact yes, I have watched all the girls play for years now. almost all since their lil D days. yes, I like the 2012 class for a while now. Remember wen 2010 didn't get past the 2nd rd of their freshman year. 2 of the starters now sat the bench til their jr year. Ppl who don't watch our school only see the 2 time stAte team (bout to be 3) The team that gilder will lead NEXT year will beat any team in their district, and into the playoffs. There will be another run for state after meisha & Brooke leave. The 2nd team could have beaten anyone in district this year except mayb that hemphill game. Wouldn't have been 40pt blow outs but that's ok. they are only as good as how much time they get on the floor. The floor hasn't opened up much in 4 years because of the awesome talent of 2010. The only issue next year is how quickly are they learn to play w each other. Sorry bout Long I was told she was Battise. My question to you, are you just going support Only your class and not support the next LE teams? They'll make their own mark next year with or without your support. it's been a great 3 years but there's more to come. REFOCUS: yes, LE are going have a undefeated season, beat EC at regionals, get to State and hopefully b crowned champions.       

Lol. If I were payn attention I would have known to agree with you about 360. Being... it is just a complete circle from where you started. Success to success.

McNeil, Taylor, Humphrey, Mitchell are irreplacable and a lot is owed to these girls for bringing the program to where it is BUT Gilder, Gill are also starters. Then there are Barlow, Williams, Battise & Arline. There are a few jv ppl that could ready to move to varsity now IF there was room. The 2012 class dominated in early years also. And now they support the seniors very well now, patiently awaiting their turn to dominate. There will be no 360 next year and the success will continue. State 5 years in row??! It's possible.

I agree lady eagles should be STATEBOUND again. But I disagree that EC isnt a good team. EC has played them tough games in past years and the girls remember that. What's in Woodville's favor is the number of offensive & defensive weapons EACH player brings to the court. This years team is a coach's dream team. The seniors are shining for a career past high school and juniors and sophmores can continue the level of play for next year.
