  1.   Should be a good one, it was sure fun to watch last time.    If there is a 3 way tie for 4th at the end of district, (by looking at the schedule it could happen) If BH, GCM and CEK all split, what determines the tie breaker ?
  2.   Or maybe the district is competitive and anybody can beat anybody on any given day.  BH having a bad year ? Who predicted they would do anything ? Everybody knew they would be young, 5 sophs. starting and they have been in every game or winning up to the 6th or 7th and still in the playoff hunt, bad year or bright future ?  Give some credit to Crosby, KWP, GCM and GP all salty teams.  Just because everybody is beating each other does not mean it is bad, just good baseball.  Not saying that our top team is better than other districts top 1 or 2 teams, but over all the district is not weak.
  3.   Not sure in 19-4A on all of the newcomers, but I would say that Kyle Leggett or Blake Bonnin would be a couple of good canidates.  Leggett has pitched very well, beat GP and GCM and had leads on Crosby, KWP, going into the 6th and 7th innings and has been pretty tough at short stop this year.  Bonnin has quietly hit over .400 for the season and over .400 in district with 25 plus RBIs ,both Sophs.  My opinion Leggett would be the front runner as newcomer in 19-4a, pending if you chose a stick or a pitcher.
  4.   It will be a 1 or 2 run game either way.  BH has played everybody close and has been in every ball game, most of the losses came in the 6th or 7th.
  5.     You are so correct 463 DP, other than NF there are no for sure games and here lately that might not be a given.
  6.     So who is the team to Beat ?  Is it CE King ?  They some how find a way to win here lately.  As far as the MVP , the kid from GCM that has hit 10 homers and seems to have a pretty high batting avg. is looking to be a good canidate.  I'm sure a lot of teams have who they feel should be.  BH has 2 boy's batting well over .400 in district and over .400 for the season as well,  I'm sure most teams have kids doing the same that you could argue for.  Right now individual stuff really does not mean much when there is a playoff race going on.  It seems Crosby, GP, KWP are in good shape.  CEK, GCM, and BH for #4 thru #6 will be the race for the final spot. The start of the second half of district has been pretty crazy.
  7.  Good point, never snapped to that.  I just know back in the day, the District Champion 9 out of 10 times had the MVP.   The MVP of 19-4A is a different topic, I think every team has a case for a few of its players on why they feel they should be MVP,  as far as the team to beat, as of this week it is KWP. This may all change by this Friday night.  With the way district play is going you better take one game at a time and not look ahead.
  8. I would like to see this one, this should be a good one.  Wondering if Crosby can rebound. Anybody know who is throwing ?
  9. Wild district, Anybody other than NF can beat anybody on any given day.  I think KWP is in the driver seat, they got help from BH and CEK last week.  Dayton and CEK should not be taken lightly (ask Crosby and BH) and almost KWP vs Dayton.  They are getting better.
  10.   I agree with GCMfever, this is a team and we need both of them.  We have missed him and know he has missed being out there, hopefully he will be on the mound soon. Leggs keep doing what your doing, you have looked great this year. WOW these are only Sophs. BH has a good outlook for the next few years as it is this year.  I think BH is going to put up a fight the second half of district
  11.     I really do not care which one is considered #1 or #2, either order is important when it comes to the district rotation.  Both are good and both give you different look,  Leggs has done a great job since the start of district, honestly better than I thought he would do as just being a soph.  Long throws harder and looked to be throwing a couple of other pitches other than the fast ball.  Lets not get into a debate of who is the #1 or #2, we need them both in any order. We have to find a rotation that allows us to make changes late in a game and have something to come back to in the next game.  I do not know when Long will be released to throw 100% and not just limited throwing, hopefully soon, but this kid is only a soph. and hopefully does not rush it, he has a good future.
  12. Tough game to call, hopefully BH can start early and hold on in the 7th. GP is a very good team , but after a big win it is hard to keep the emotion up.  Ask BH, look what happen after beating GCM.  Big game for both teams.  Leggett or Long ?  Both ? whatever it takes
  13.  There is nothing wrong with being a High School coach and to be a Head High School Coach in any sport is a pretty big accomplishment in my book.    I do agree that after the 1st out in the 7th we should have made a change, Leggett pitched his heart out and proved he is one of the top pitchers in the district by keeping a 16-2 team in check for 6 innings, but we had a top pitcher released that was ready to go and only had to come in and get two outs, but if we get those outs with Leggett we are talking what great coaching we have by letting him stay in, we just need to find a way to finish the 7th inning strong.  Great game. One thing is for sure, if BH is playing no matter who it is, it will be a close one.
  14. For BH it would be Kyle Leggett, he has thrown pretty well this year.  Grayson Long has been out a couple of weeks.  He was looking to be #1 on the Hill going into district and pitched very well against Galena Park, till he took a hit off of the leg and had to come out.  Hope to get him back soon.  We need both of these kids to have a good shot for the play-offs.
  15. Leggett only pitched the last inning, he got brought in with runners in scoring postion and no outs.  He was able to record one out before Dayton won on a hit.  I think he should be fine to throw on Thursday, at a max he threw 25 pitches.    That was a big loss, BH must have had 17 hits.  Mitchell had 3, Bonnin had 4, Lyday had 2, Meyers 2, Thompson 2 and a few others had 1.  Still leaving too many runners on base.  Of course Dayton was hitting everything that was thrown in the 7th, hats off to them, they were pounding the ball.    Long not being able to go has hurt, hopefully he will recover and be able to go the 2nd half of district.    I believe we have out hit every team we have played, I know we only gave up 5 hits vs. GP and KWP may have had more hits than us, but that is it. We have to stop LOB.  I think this is going to be a tough game for both sides.
  16. It is sad, caught myself judging coaches and second guessing everything they do.  Maybe this forum is more about the bashing than the baseball, judging the players and the coaches. Found myself falling into it.  Not a forum I want to be a part of anymore.  This forum should be over updates and reports on the teams, but that is just my opinion.  Good Luck tonight BH, should be a good game.
  17. I don't think a coach can control the talent he gets every year, this is a rebuilding year and for the most part this is the team we will be watching for the next three seasons. I agree with the statement that we need better developement at the sub-varsity level and the HC needs to direct that.
  18. I know Lyday did not pitch, so the Chronicle is not correct, but those hits could be ruled as errors to give BC a no-hitter. Long Thopmson Leggett They were warming up Young when I left. All that I saw looked really good.  I think Tompson gave up 2 unearned runs and Leggett may have gave up one, not 100% sure.  Did not stay the whole game.  I thought over all looked good, they will compete, just need to hit.
  19. Lyday had a hit that got under the shortstop and Bonin had one that bounced off of the SS, both hard hits, not sure how they were scored.  If niether were considered hits, then yes it was a no hitter.  BH pitched  4 or 5 pitchers and played it like a scrimmage.  Over all BH looked pretty good.  2 unearned runs by BC, pretty good game as defense goes.  BH had some hard hits, just right at people also hit into a few double plays that hurt.  BC pitcher was pretty impressive.  BH really never put people in scoring position, total of 5 base runners last night and only one got to 2nd.
  20. I will agree with that 100%, Just believe that that position should not be locked in and like the other positions should be wide open to compete for, but that will not happen.
  21.   OK, just know where the errors are being made, not calling out names, unless it is for the good.
  22. I agree 100%, Townley is just a freshman.  Mitchell and Asbury coming out of Basketball will help our pitching.  Defense is still a question mark at SS and Right field.  If your pitching is not  that strong, you better have a great defense.  3rd and 2nd have looked good on defense, of course 1st is solid, the catcher is getting better every game, center field is tough and left field will be better once Basketball is over.  I know it is just scrimmages,  and everyone is not at their best, but look where the weakness is and where the errors are.
  23. No pitcher has gone more than 3 innings in the scrimmages.  Long has looked the strongest out of the pitchers.  It is disappointing on some of the other names that keep getting brought up as players to watch out for, I will not mention names, but some have been getting hammered and making errors is common.    Townley looked pretty good vs. Manvel he went 3.
  24. OK lets get real, I hope BH does good, but these polls mean nothing, With one true proven player at the varsity level and the young pitching that is unproven, that is just throwing some 4A teams in a hat and picking them out, of course Brenham is real.  If anyone has watched BH in the scrimmages, they hang for the first few innings, until they get past their first two pitchers.  They struggle with errors in the middle infield, and they are not hitting over-all very well.  If Long is pitching, they will do fine.  Young, McDonald, and Townely have looked OK, but past that it is rough.  After reading the article in the Baytown paper, I hope there are a few changes on the (locked down )positions, or they will not finish #5 in the district.  Not bashing, just stating some facts.
