Jeremy Johnson is leaving West Virginia
I suspect Cody Green will transfer to another FBS school. He would have to sit out one year, but it would be a Red-Shirt year since he got PT as a true Fish. Also since Nebraska is moving to the Big Ten next season he could transfer within the Big 12 and not have to sit out 2 years, which is the case when transfering within the same conference. i personally think Cody would fit in great at TCU! If JJ wants to play QB he will probably have to go FCS. Before you guys get all bent outta shape and insinuate that I am downing the kid as a QB, I am not, but facts are facts, the local FBS schools did not recruit him as a QB for a reason and I doubt anything that occured at WVU changed those opinions. Maybe one of the smaller FBS schools like UNT, ULM or LaTech?? If he goes to Baylor he will not start at QB for the next couple of seasons...RGIII is a stud!
If he goes to Baylor it will be as a QB. He would sit out this year. Many think RG3 will be gone after next year(his junior year) and johnson could step in and have 3 full years at QB(Briles thinks alot of JJ as a Qb just so you know). Art Briles works WONDERS with QB's and sees things other coaches don't(see Kevin Kolb, Case Keenum, and RG3). Remember............no one and I repeat no one at the major D1 level recruited RG3 as a QB besides Briles. Fact! -

All i am saying is he needs to realize that he's a freshman and he prob won't get the opportunity to play as a true freshman and he prob won't play as a sophmore, get in the weight room get faster, bigger, and stronger and win the battle at the qb position but kids these days want everything handed to them and don't want to work for it i mean he's been the best athlete in his school all his career now he's in college and there are athletes just like him and its a little bit tougher for him now not just being the best!!!!Kids gotta learn to work hard , I mean nothing against the kid he's a heck of a athlete, I just don't see why all these kids come home...
Dude you can't generalize this situation. Every situation is different and I have no inside information on this young man. But, he is a true freshman playing behind a stud sophome. So, what the sophomore is going to quit lifting weights, quit running and doing things to get better. No, he is going to work his butt off too because they are at a high major university. If this kid was a junior or senior I'd say probably agree with what you stated but that isn't the case here.
Not to mention that the other freshman QB there was the NUMBER 1 dual threat QB IN THE COUNTRY THIS YEAR!!!!! JJ wants to play QB. I don't blame him. -
I dont know. Young men always want the best. They see the guys on TV and say "Thats me in a couple of years!" Who can blame them. But a bunch of these young men are from small towns and are going to a university that has an enrolement larger than the population of their own town. I can see that it could be a little overwelming. I pointed that fact out to a young man who might have a chance at playing at the next level. He went to a large university for a visit then a small one. He felt confortable at the smaller university. I am sure if they both asked.....he would choose the smaller one. Big Time is Where Your At. I was told that and will always remember it. I never had that problem.....In the Corps, they dont care if you miss Momma or not. :D....and I knew that. I am just glad that all the young men that have transferd this year have had a place to go. The goal is to get an edjucation....they are still on that path. I dont care if JJ is from Silsbee or Beaumont. If I get to see him in four years and he has completed his edjucation...I am shaking his hand and leting him know I am proud of him. Sorry for the spelling.....the Corps doesnt offer English....they do but.....I cant forward what I learnd. ;) I hope JJ, and the other six that have transferd will be able to.
great post -

If he wanted to play db or wr he could have gone ANYWHERE in the country. He was told when he was recruited he would have a fair shot at the starting QB position. Maybe he didnt get a fair shake. It's what he wanted to do and that is the only important thing here. WHAT HE WANTS. Not you or me. He's 18. Let's all try and support him in whatever he does. -

Terror is an idiot for pointing out the box score. No one cares about that. The Cowboys look better in the box score every week yet they are 1-3. Terror is not an idiot, just obnoxiously arrogant and condenscending. He's like a little dog nipping at your heals, always looking for a dig to satisfy his unjustified ego. But he is no idiot. The point about the boxscore is yes we did the things we needed to do to win the game. Great! But we didn't dominate against a lower division team. Before you run with that as being negative, its not, just a fact. I'm ecstatic we won the game.
We are not going to dominate many teams in our first year. Just a fact.
Why do you ask for people to bring up negatives and then censored about when they do? Congrats, you won, you didn't play perfect, no team does week in and week out. You can always improve upon things. Terror pointing out the box score was simply to show that had a few plays gone in favor of Langston, namely in the red zone, they would have won. The point is, first year program or not, an FCS team should handle an NAIA team fairly easy. Don't ask for something and then complain when you get it.
Not complaining. Just debating. Don't get your panties knotted up. Box scores don't mean crap. Championships are won on the scoreboard not in the boxscore!! JUST A FACT!!!
If it is a current, recent QB who could still potentially play... former West Hardin star Tyler Copeland? Unless you were taking Brian Bell or Tyrik Rollison, do not think anything else would resonate with the Bearkat faithful. Sounds like typical Lamar over-hype job here.
Sad you would bring a kids name in to this that has nothing to do with it. Hide and watch ;) -

Andre Bevil can throw down field all he wants, but he's going to get picked off and of course, does not help a Lamar team that takes the entire game to establish the run...
Are you aware that Ray Woodard is a defensive guy??? All he talks about is run, run, run and how we are gonna have to run to win. You don't know the first thing about Ray Woodard the coach or the person. So until you do keep the things you THINK you know to yourself. P.S. Wait til you hear who is gonna be on the sideline saturday night terror. You are not gonna like it......trust me!!! -

Terror...............your not really on here bragging about how Fritz out recruited a first year program are you? Very weak!!!! -
I'm happy with the win as Langston was better than Webber and their QB 6'5, 240 was as big as a couple of our defensive lineman and he could throw the ball. I only had one thing to be critical about and posted it on another thread so there is no need to repost it here as in my opinion it is time to start talking about South Alabama. I hear they are pretty good. Although you can question their schedule they are averaging over 50 ppg and defensively they are holding teams to 6 ppg. They are taking our their starters at halftime. :o
They are good but they are beatable.

Funny after a win we don't have as many critics this week. Are the defensive coaches smarter this week because we played better redzone defense this week?

This freshman group at HF is so good it couldn't even with the Little Dribblers National Championship that does not even include 1/10 of the teams in the state of texas. Is this correct?

Should stay away from it all of the time if you can't for a season that is 2 or 3 months long you have problems.

His senior year several of us had an argument on here after he was arrested for Marijuana possession whether he should be aloud to play again this season. MANY of you said yes that the arrest and embarrassment was lesson enough. I and others said no because this would not teach him enough of a lesson. Looks like the lesson was not learned. Sad day for a very talented young man.
-
I am for the most part now staying out of this argument because it is futile for all of us to be debating this any more. The sides are drawn and I have not seen anyone make an argument for either case (Stay FCS/SLC or go FBS/New Conference) that has swayed anyone to change their position. We all think we know the answer (and are convinced that the opposition is absolutely clueless), but in the end it is just our own desire and opinion. Dr. Simmons and his team will do the right thing at the right time. And if history proves out, all of us who are on this board who really have a strong passion for the success of LU football really know that out of the 17k that have shown up for the 1st 2 home games , many are fair weather and will not continue to come if the program doesn't win in the next few years no matter what level we play at.
Well said. The last sentence of your post is one I am trying to stress!
