Middle of Orangefield's schedule...pretty tough!!! September 17 Coldspring, 7:30 p.m.  September 24          OPEN  October 1 at Jasper, 7:30 p.m.  October 8 Silsbee, 7:30 p.m.*  October 15 at West Orange-Stark, 7:30 p.m.* 

Baseball USA...I think this will be a tough series for my Bobcats, but I think they come out on top in 3 games!!!

I bleed orange but the Cardinals are the champs until someone knocks them off that pedastal. I believe Orangefield has the better team 1-9, but it's a mind thing when it comes to this rivalry. Someone posted on here that Orangefield is like 1-20 against BC over the past several years, until my Bobcats believe they can and will win these games they are gonna struggle. I hope that changes tonight, both teams are gonna be fired up and I'm sure both teams will play with a lot of emotion. The key is Statum...he has to throw all of his pitches for strikes tonight, can't rely on his fast ball all night and has to keep the ball down in the zone. If he does that, Orangefield finds a way to win this game!!! Go Cats!!! OF 3 BC 2

If Brock beat up on Madisonville like that, I don't see them losing another game this year!!!

Great post hoops2000, I have to agree with you on several points you made. Hats off to Coach Davis and her team. She has to be the Coach of the Year in my book. Like you said she had some huge shoes to fill and she did so nicely. Give the Silsbee coach some credit too. I went and watched them the first game of the season and I really thought it was going to be a long year for the Tigers. But they just got better every week, very impressed with what he accomplished this year at Silsbee. As far as Orangefield goes...you hear a lot of grumblings about this team and Coach Jost. I personally think we had a good year. Remember people we lost 3 first team all district picks off last years district championship team. We lost almost 35 points a game, when we lost those three. At times this year on varsity we played 4 freshmen and only have one senior on this team. Remember we're talking about 15 and 16 year old kids here. If you would have told me that at the beginning of the year we would have won over 20 games I would have taken it in a heartbeat. I thought we would make the playoffs, I really did, but to come with in 6 points of winning another district championship surprised me. Coach Jost has won 2 district championships in the three years he's been at Orangefield...and finished 2nd this year. Not to shabby if you ask me!!!!

Very tough 4 weeks in the middle of the season...might be one of the toughest stretches of any 3A team in the state. I like our schedule, all 5 pre-district games are against playoff teams from last year. Should be interesting to see how we compete this season!!!

This is what I'm hearing as of now, could change... Week 0-East Chambers Week 1-Buna Week 2-Woodville Week 3-Coldspring Week 4-Off Week 5-Jasper Week 6 thru 10-District

We know Jasper for sure...I'm also hearing, East Chambers, Buna, and Coldsprings!!! Anyone heard anything else...rumor also floating around is possibly LCM!!!

No 4-6 is not considered a great season by our standards, but we have to start somewhere. The only game we weren't in last year was against Silsbee, they completely man handled us and against WOS we just couldn't get the ball in the endzone but moved the ball well against them. As far as the teams we beat last year, well that's who was on our schedule. My point is this, we've gotten dogged the last few years because of our schedule and now that we're actually playing some quality teams we're getting dogged again!!!
