Orangefield 14 Huffman 7 Final In Game Half..
Bobkat replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Orangefield played well...Huffman really had problems stopping our running game. Orangefield has put in the slot T this year and are running it fairly well. The offense is still very basic and with East Chambers in the stands the coaches didn't show to much. The Bobcats had two long scoring drives yesterday of 70 yards...the last one was impressive. With 8 minutes left on the clock and Huffman just scoring to tie the game, the Cats ate up over 7 minutes on the game clock and scored to take the lead and hold on to win the scrimmage. Couldn't tell you the last time we went on a game ending drive to win a game and pulled it off. I know it's a scrimmage and everything, but that's a huge step for our program. We still might struggle at times this year, but I really think we're going to be competitive and give teams fits. After the game yesterday you could hear some kids shouting...no more losing, that's over with!!! That's also a huge step in the right direction!!! -
Lady Bears serve past Orangefield

Well VBchubby, I never said I was a guru. You don't think that playing better teams is going to make your team better in the long run. Maybe I'm misreading your post...please enlighten me!!! -
Lady Bears serve past Orangefield

Orangefield is a very young team...we start two freshmen and several underclassmen play significant minutes. I think too many people put to high of expectations on this team...yes we advanced to the 3rd round last year, but we lost some key players to graduation. Also our best back line player tore her ACL and is out for the year. But with all that said, we'll be in the mix for one of those 3 playoff spots. Also I'll give props to the coach for playing a tougher schedule this year...she's playing bigger schools like LCM, Ozen, Nederland, and New Caney and a tougher tournament schedule. This will only help this team get better. They have a bunch of kinks to work out, but once they all get on the same page this team can and will make some noise in district play. Just have patience fans...and ladies keep your heads up and just keep working!!! -
Orangefield is playing a bunch of girls right now...still trying to see who is going to be on the team. I understand why coach is doing this, but it does make it hard to get into any type of rhythm on the court. But you have to use these early games to see how girls perform at this level...once she has established who will be on varsity and who will play a lot...consistency will come and this team has the capabilities to be pretty good. Also saw... Nederland beat Silsbee in two Silsbee beat Hardin Jefferson in two Vidor beat West Brook in two

The Orangefield/Woodville game was a good one...Woodville won by 5 I believe. Lamar Team Camp was very competitive this year. Of course Woodville reached the finals last year, Bullard went deep in the 3A playoffs last year and I believe lost to eventual state champs Waco Robinson...Central is always tough...HCYA out of Houston sent their best team and Hardin Jefferson and Central Heights were both tough as well...very solid field this year!!!

actually looking at Orangefields football history of every game they have ever played on KOGT you did not play them once in the 90's but you did play them in 2002 and 2003 witch was a 12-0 loss in 02 and a 36-0 loss in 03 just helping with the facts. But I do agree that HD has some great athletes and some that Orangefield would love to have. Just curious, when did Evadale last ply OF? It seems like maybe 2000 and 2001, or maybe 98/99, the scores you have for HD and OF also seem to be about what the scores were between Evadale and OF...the game at OF was less than two TD's and the next year at Evadale it was OF pretty convincingly. Just curious... In 98 Orangefield won 47-8 In 99 Orangefield won 34-14 In 2002 Orangefield beat HD 20-0 In 2003 Orangefield beat HD 26-0

Trust me, if he can start for the Hull-Daisetta Bobcats, then he can most definitely start for Orangefield. Huc will be the best athlete on the Orangefield team. Not so fast my friend...we have some athletes at Orangefield. We're also glad to add another one to the mix...welcome Huc!!! But believe me he's going to have to make a big adjustment coming from a 1A school to a 3A school and I'm sure he knows that. But for you to say he's going to be the best athlete on the team is way off!!!

Felts hits a 3 run bomb!!! -
funny you say that because there 2-0 so they have played someone haha but anyways they still got BC and silsbee then they have to go back through HF again which wont be a walk in the park. That was for hjhawks that said that Orangefield hadn't played anyone all year...just a little jab all in fun. Just continuing a little fun we had with hardin jefferson people during basketball season...he knows it was a joke. And believe me, we know how tough this district is this year. You have to stay focused and take care of business. Bridge City is still the team to beat...from what I'm hearing they're not playing well but still finding a way to win games. That's what good teams do, Orangefield is trying to get to that level.

Look at this kids neck, he's one heck of a catcher and an even better kid. He deserves everything that comes his way, and I've never seen a ball jump off anyone's bat like his. Best thing about Jacob is....he's only a junior!!!

Looks like Orangefield still hasn't played anyone!!!
