She is definitely one of those once in a lifetime type players. She has all the tools to compete at the next level and hopefully she gets that chance. Not a lot of people know this about Kaylin, but she's also over the 2000 point total for her career. This is not official but after doing some research, she stands at 1844 points not including her freshmen year. She averaged over 8 points a game her freshmen year, so that should have put her over the 156 points needed to get there. Plus she still has 3 district games left and the playoffs. Here are her total points for each year... 10th grade...557 11th grade...643 12th grade...644

Coach Jost has this team playing well right now. Hats off to him and these young ladies for going 9-0 in district play. Keep it up ladies, don't get satisfied, stay hungry and keep bringing that same intensity no matter who we're playing. Go Lady Cats!!!

CoachK I too would like to apologize to you and your players and coaching staff for last night. I too have no clue what was said or done, but I'm extremely embarrassed by a few people's actions. That is not typical of Orangfield fans and hopefully that type of situation will never happen again. Coach I was one of the individuals that shook your hand after the game and wished you all the luck in the world. I too appreciate what you've done in Silsbee and I also appreciate how your team plays and carries themselves. Your a class act and so is your team. I hope Silsbee knows what type of coach and person they have over there running their girls program...I believe they know!!! Good luck to your Lady Tigers the rest of the season and I hope that your thoughts on our team, fans and community are not tarnished by what happen last night.

I'm not trying to be a smarty here, but you can't tell me that this incident with Orangefield fans is a first. I know that over the years there has been several heated games in that gym with other teams, and you mean to tell me that this has never happen. Come on, there are idiots everywhere and believe me I know we have our fair share at Orangefield too, but for this to have never happened before blows my mind.

I agree, whatever team shoots the ball well will definitely have a huge advantage but it's also going to come down to who takes care of the ball better. Orangefield has struggled at times this year in this area, if they do that against HJ it could be a long night for them. Now if they play like they did against Silsbee earlier in the year, they'll be in this game and have a great shot at winning it. Both teams will be up for this game and it should be a great one. This is a tough stretch for the Bobcats, Silsbee comes to town next Tuesday. Go Lady Cats!!!

You could tell the girls have been off for a few days, didn't shoot well at all tonight, but we fought hard against a much bigger and athletic team tonight. I was proud of them for fighting through the tough shooting night but we seemed to lose our focus to much tonight and gave up way to many easy baskets. Also I won't be arguing about our officials in Texas anymore, they may be worse in Louisiana. There was a little home cooking down the stretch.

PN-G is in the bottom bracket with Orangefield...they play each other tomorrow night at 7:30. Winner of this game takes on LCM/Silsbee winner for the championship Saturday.

Our Coach did make a few adjustments at half, but for the most part it was our press that wore Silsbee down. Early in the game they broke the press, but we made them work to get it down court everytime. In the second half, that pressure took it's toll on them and they started turning the ball over and our ladies turned that into points. Like I said earlier, Silsbee will get better. They had some girls that just got back into the flow of things and once they get in better shape, they'll be tough to beat!!!

I was thinking the same thing, not a lot of people giving this Orangefield team credit for the win, instead Nederland just played bad. Maybe they played bad because they played a pretty good team. Good job Bobcats, keep up the great work!!!

It was a great night, started with the National Anthem. Great job young lady. Great team effort tonight by the Lady Cats. We flat out owned the boards and wore the Lady Tigers out with our press tonight. Bleed you said it, you hold any team to one shot almost every time down court your going to win some games...that's what happen tonight. I too was very impressed with both teams in their sportsmanship tonight. Showed that both teams really respected the other and it was nice to see that. Silsbee will be tough down the road, I believe they just got back most of their girls tonight. Once they get going again, they'll be hard to beat. Great job tonight ladies...Go Cats!!!

The way HJ is playing right now, you have to make them the favorite to win this district!!!

Orangefield jumped out to a 10 - 0 lead to start the game and then went cold. The girls struggled shooting the ball and fell behind going into the 4th qtr. The game was closer than the final score...Magnolia made their free throws down the stretch to pull away. Gets tougher tomorrow when the Lady Cats play St.Pius!!!

Wasn't that a scrimmage though?

Our local radio station play by play announcer..Gary Stelly passed out coming out of the press box. He had came out of the press box during a time out to get some air...there is no air conditioner in the center box of our press box and it gets very hot in there. He leaned over the rail and got dizzy and passed out. It was a very scary site, because if he had passed out looking over the rail he could have fallen from the bleachers...very scary scene. He was okay a few minutes later and actually finished calling the game.
