Big Girl- Exactly what did the Russians do to help Trump in the election?
-
From todays Wall Street Journal; "Russian hackers tried to penetrate the computer networks of the Republican National Committee, using the same techniques that allowed them to infiltrate its Democratic counterpart, according to U.S. officials who have been briefed on the attempted intrusion." For years I have been told that the left was so much more sophisticated and enlightened when it came to technology and it was a key ingredient in the Obama election victories. Hmmmmm.

How about is she outraged that Lois Lerner ( with the tacit approval of the White House) did what she did to ordinary Americans? How about is she outraged about the promotion of the "hands up, don't shoot" scenario which simply did not exist?

Big Girl, do you believe Brian Williams ?

One can never be assured what will happen in the market, just as one could not be sure what was going to happen after the last economic decline. However, if you understand reversion to the mean, you will see that is all that took place during the last 8 years. Once again, the ultimate determinant of a stocks value is what it earns. If the markets perceive that earnings will improve, chances are very good that an improvement in the stock price will occur.

And the left continues to believe that these people have influence over the voters. The latest national and local elections ought to lead them to conclude otherwise
-
Election interference? Did the Russians alter some votes? Did the Russians force Mrs. Clinton to call 1/4 of the U.S. population deplorable?

Societal problem these days. No respect for elders.

I doubt very much whether the market places a priority on impressing you or anyone else. One of the main reasons the market doubled is because it took a 40% hit just before Obama took office. Whenever a panic takes place, the market gets considerably oversold but has always rebounded from such declines. So you can credit a goodly portion of that "double" to a recovery from a severe recession. There is no recession from which we haven't recovered, therefore the recovery was going to occur regardless of who occupied the White House. But if you wish to make it a political conversation, one can say that the reason it recovered was because of Obama or because of a House and Senate that wouldn't allow him to do many of the things he wanted to do. One more thing, the long term average annual return on stocks is 10%. If the market doubled in 8 years, the average annual return for those 8 years is 9%.
-
The market is simply discounting the likelihood that there will be a reduction in regulations and a corporate income tax cut with another likelihood that GDP will advance from the 1.75% average over the last 8 years to something in the 3% to 4% area. If you look at a very long term chart of the market from its very early stages and are not too close to it, the general direction is obvious. The closer you get, the more interruptions in that general direction that can be seen. Ultimately, the values of companies are determined by their earnings and perceived future earnings abilities. Those " future abilities", in the eyes of the investor, have been enhanced substantially. There has not been an administration perceived by the public as this pro business for a very long time. Totally agree with the resiliency of our economy which has advanced weakly in spite of the current administration rather than because of it.

Just imagine how good he/they will be when silver hair is not around and they have a player or 2 over 6 feet tall.

The truly sad part of this is that the left doesn't "get" the fact what type of paralysis is involved when taxes and regulation become overly burdensome. You can rest assured that many entrepreneurs have shelved plans to establish small businesses due to the costs involved and may now change their minds just as IBM has. There is a sense of this paralysis being reduced or eliminated by the incoming President. They also don't seem to comprehend the fact that lower taxes are likely to actually INCREASE overall tax revenues in the country by a faster growing economy.

My guess is she will not respond. If she does, no doubt it will have something to do with Fake News, Russian Hacking, and the "White Supremacist Platform". I think you will find those on Huffington Post and ThinkProgress.org amongst others.

I know how absolutely incredible this sounds, but it really did happen ( never to be repeated) Truth often stranger than fiction. And they said Trump couldn't/wouldn't get elected. We live in some truly amazing times.

Someone needs to call for an audit of the market.

I have it on good authority that the aforementioned individual made it through an entire game ( final of the HJ tourney) without saying a single word to any of the referees.

The U.S. stock market has hit 15 new all time highs since the election and with 45 minutes left in todays trading, if nothing changes, it will hit #16. I wonder if Russia is manipulating the stock market or if the market reports are, somehow, fake news trying to conceal the effects of global warming?
-
Hmmmm Never knew Gates was a Wall Street guy. Please elaborate?
-
I hope that repetition works, but the lingering effects of indoctrination are very powerful.
-
I will try to get that arranged if you will let go of the following: Fake news won the election for Trump. The Russians won the election for Trump.

The next Nixon? Is that sort of like saying that you just found out about the Hillary email server on TV like everyone else did even though you had exchanged emails with her on that server? Looks to me like the aroma therapy and play dough have failed to have much impact on you. Bill DeBlasio is offering mental health counseling in New York for those upset with the election results. Maybe you should ask him for a plane ticket and attend.

Nappy, still clinging to that TOTAL FABRICATED LIE that the economic decline of 2008 was the fault of George Bush. I'll bet you still believe to this day, in spite of the fact that it is documented/proven to have been a total lie, that Michael Brown said "hands up, don't shoot" also, right?
