Obviously Roger Ales has a problem. But I am sure he can get out of it by simply saying " it depends on what the meaning of "is" is. Tobie, is it your belief that the only sexual predator in the television business is the guy at Fox?

For some reason, I am unable to read the original post. Am I correct in guessing that somebody is "offended" by the pledge?

Why wouldn't he? He showed up and expressed/demonstrated concern for the people of New Jersey and I am guessing that Mr. Christie thought that praise might help him in his subsequent political endeavors. Don't you think it is interesting that Mr. Christie had no problem with "diverting resources" for a Presidential visit while the governor of Louisiana did? Wonder why Mr. Christie didn't ask him to "stay away" as the Louisiana Governor "allegedly" did?

Wouldn't it be interesting to see how many $ Texas?texans puts into the Federal coffers and compare it to how many $ it/they receive?

Only because public opinion was turning heavily against him. Had no choice .

And you believe that because that is what they told you at work?

Careful there, UTfanatic. He is going to accuse you of getting your ideas from Hannity and Rush.

Nope- just like police don't either

Congrats on the internet- everybody knows how accurate and reliable it is- regarding free stuff- do you understand that when Lyndon Johnson declared his famous "War on Poverty" that the poverty rate was around 14%? Guess where it is today? I wont tell you because you cant believe me, but you will accept something on the internet. Free stuff is "the war on poverty" Let me know if you are satisfied with the results from Lyndon Johnson till now

Tobie- since you form your own opinions, give me your opinions on these- "I will have the most transparent administration in history" " I did not send or forward classified emails through my personal server" " the Benghazi attack was caused by a video" " the only reason the President is not in New Orleans is because the Louisiana Governor asked him to stay away" Additionally, since you don't listen to talk show people or politicians, where do you get your information in order to form your "own opinion"?

Tobie- If you are troubled by Rush and Hannity, are you troubled about the FACT that NBC doctored the Trayvon Martin tape in order to mold public sentiment? Were you troubled when NBC's Brian Williams lied about traveling on a helicopter that had been hit by enemy fire? Were you troubled when Hillary Clinton claimed she faced sniper fire when she was in Bosnia? Do you believe she is being truthful about Benghazi, emailgate, and the Clinton Foundation? Just want to clarify because the only lies that seem to concern you are the ones that relate to Sean Hannity. Would also like to know if you think saying "if you like your healthcare plan/doctor, you can keep them", "I will build a 21st Century Veterans administration", " ISIS is the jv", " ISIS is contained", " there is not a smidgeon of corruption within the IRS"

Come on now, you know very well this is not as serious as Donald saying some dumb things.

The sales decline is not arguable and is nationwide. One store in one city does not matter. Their sales numbers are posted in the original post. BAck to school weekend is not reflective of sales in general.

You ought to be realistic and understand that hardships are hardships and the number of deaths involved is irrelevant. How many people have to be harmed before the President should show/voice concern. If you are trying to say that it was perfectly appropriate to criticize Bush during Katrina but not Obama during this circumstance, you are definitely the one who needs a reality check.

Let me paint an alternative scenario for you that you, of course will not even consider. The Public relations machine of the left comes to realize that Mr. Obama not showing up in Louisiana has the potential to become a public relations disaster for both Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton ( aka- the possibility of considerable anti Democrat sentiment- similar to the concern that the Benghazi incident would be harmful to the party just prior to the mid term elections ) Valerie Jarrett and company meet and decide how best to handle the circumstances. They come up with the "suggestion" to the governor that if he makes a public statement that , in order to preserve and properly allocate resources, they have asked the President to stay away. The Governor, being a loyal member of the Democratic party makes the statement as "suggested". If Jarrett had nothing to do with this, consider the inner circle of Mrs. Clinton who does not want, under any circumstance, any "bad press" for her party, particularly this close to election time. The same "suggestion" is made to the Governor who has two motivations to accept the "suggestion". 1. He is a loyal member of his party and wants to manage public perception of the event 2. He also knows that there have been several "suicides" committed by people who had the potential to do political harm to the Clintons, If neither of these scenarios gets the job done, Mr. Obama "suddenly" decides to go to Louisiana next Tuesday( even though it will require the same "resources" the Governor just stated that he was trying to preserve). To me it is more than coincidental that Benghazi was attributable to a video, and the Louisiana Governor was trying to preserve and productively deploy "resources". All I can tell you is that just about everyone knows/acknowledges that Benghazi was NOT caused by a video, and the "resource needs" of Louisiana will be no different on Tuesday than they have been since the flooding damage began.
