  1. Surely you aren't saying that the Democrats believe in those type measures but will vote against them if Repubs don't agree with their social values?
  2. Am wondering why? What economic policies have put them in such bad shape? Is this the fault of George Bush or some other group of Republicans?
  3. Yes it does- And it usually stops the hackneyed, trite, and banal accusations. Additionally, it's my way of taking a jab at those who take PC stuff to extremes.
  4. Very politically incorrect of you REBgp. Since you are a white conservative Christian, prepare to be labeled as racist, sexist, homophobe and islamaphobe
  5. To which matter are you referring? The one pertaining to the subject of the thread or co-mingling pedophiles with gays or something else?
  6. No lumping here. Just decided to ask the second question rather than starting a new thread. There was nothing "feigned" when I suggested you were referring to conservatives in general rather than specific ones. Its no different than the theory that you shouldn't criticize all Muslims for the acts of Muslim terrorists.
  7. If I am understanding you correctly, you strongly feel there will never be a movement ( I will let everyone use their imagination as to which side of the liberal- conservative scale will promote) that says pedophilia is an illness and therefore the offenders should get medical/psychological help rather than a jail sentence? I would also ask you if you believe the day will come when someone proposes( again, imagination will dictate your choice of left or right) that sex change operations be paid for or subsidized by the taxpayer when the individuals personal financial situation will not permit him or her to become what they were "born to be"?
  8. Would you like a link to the Solyndra story? Or perhaps one regarding the economic viability of Amtrak and the U.S Postal Service? Or, perhaps, a link regarding the Detroit Bankruptcy and the "management skills" of Kwame Killpatrick?
  9. Socialism/Communism have never been successful economically speaking. I think Cuba and Venezuela and Greece could all testify to that.
  10. Sorry, not interested in a lecture about the utopian world as visualized by a Socialist.
  11. Why not answer the question: is the government a good manager? Do we need more government involvement in our businesses?
  12. Just hoping most will wake up and understand that the governments efforts and attempts to manage, tweak,, etc etc U.S. businesses is totally counterproductive and understand that the real problem with our current economic climate cannot be blamed on George Bush.
  13. Translation: Do not waste your time and energy on the ignorant, they have insufficient intellect to be worthy of enlightened discussion.
  14. Hmmm- I thought the left and the "enlightened" abhorred such generalizations/stereotyping. (All conservatives are homophobes, islamaphobes, racist, sexist, yada yada yada ). No" tolerance" for those who see things differently than you? Do you think the "cake issue" is a legitimate one and warrants government involvement/intervention?
  15. GDP for the first quarter recently came in at a very disappointing rate and barely positive. I am a great believer in the theory that too much government involvement hurts, rather than helps, our economy. Here are some comments from a report I read today that might be of interest.. Overall government transfers to persons were up 0.3% in March and are up 3.6% in the past year, largely driven by the Obamacare-related expansion of Medicaid. Before the Panic of 2008, government transfers – Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, disability, welfare, food stamps, and unemployment comp – were roughly 14% of income. In early 2010, they peaked at 18.5%. Now they’re around 17%, but not falling any further. Redistribution hurts growth because it shifts resources away from productive ventures and, among those getting the transfers, weakens the incentive to produce. On the inflation front, the PCE deflator, the Fed’s favorite measure, increased
  16. Could you not have made the same statement about transgenders a few years ago? Isn't the "cake issue" a valid reason to worry about what our government is going to do next?
  17. So you are not sure? Good- It "appeared" as though you are/were an advocate of more and more government intervention/intrusion. What makes one a "privileged" white male?
  18. It lacks compassion, tolerance, and understanding:)
  19. Who gets to make the final decision as to what a persons reason for refusing service was? Why did Muhammad Ali escape a prison sentence after being convicted of draft evasion?( could it have been his "religious beliefs")?
  20. sounds like you are suggesting that conservatives were born with some "issues" that they are trying to hide?
  21. If I didn't know better, it would seem that you feel someone other than the baker ( in this case, either you or the government) gets to dictate which individuals he can refuse to serve.
  22. Does this mean you have officially taken the position that there is no "protection/special consideration" for pedophiles and there never will be ?
  23. I am so confused. Mr. Obama declares the seriousness of the ISIS issue and yet, about 18 months ago, he declared ISIS the JV?
  24. I wonder if DV believes that anyone who moves for athletic purposes would actually claim that to be the reason?
