BIg Girl-  I appreciate the fact that you want to keep talking about the deficit because it has come down in recent years.  However, once again, if you owe your creditors 1 million dollars and it is increasing each year by a minimum of 60,000 in interest, it doesn't matter very much that you earn 100,000 per year and are spending 140,000 as compared to earning 100,000 and spending 180,000.  IN that case, you can say you cut your deficit by 50%, but you are still headed in the wrong direction.

The CBO has projected that that Social Security costs will rise in cost by 77% during the next decade.  The rise for Medicaid will be 89%.  During that period, the bill for paying interest on the accumulating national debt will MORE than triple.  Any of you lefties concerned with the debt level?

And just who is it that will define the parameters for greed?  Apple computer has 180 billion in cash- Is that greed?  Is the company evil?

I get the flu shot every year.    But I have spoken to a number of doctors who are against it.

Skins- if its the governments job to protect the people, I would ask you a couple of more questions:  Should all people be forced to get the flu vaccine?   I think we all know that salt and sugar are both bad for you-should the government have a say in whether you can consume these items or a say on how much one can have? Should the government protect people ( save their lives) by making laws/rules/regulations against obesity?

Do you find anything hypocritical about the left, when it comes to abortion, insisting that a woman has the right to do with her body as she wishes and simultaenously being vociferously insistent on requiring vaccinations?  ( for the record, I support vaccinations)

Market cycle-  The government can take some actions to try to shorten the duration and severity of a downturn but cant  eliminate it.  I am pretty confident, however, that raising taxes and increasing regulation during a recession does nothing to hasten the recovery from it.  Having said that, it was pretty convenient for the current President and his "associates": to suggest that the Bush Presidency caused the last decline.  He knew better but also knew that it would sell well and it did. 

Some day you are going to understand that government is not the solution to all issues.  Greece is in the middle of that discovery.  Sorry, but "trying" is not the solution.  Pat Knight "tried" at Lamar.

NBC news anchor Brian Williams has admitted lying regarding being in a helicopter that was "shot down" when he visited Iraq in 2003.  If Mr. Williams were the anchor for Fox News instead of NBC, wouldn't there be a much bigger furor over this with everyone demanding his firing and/or resignation and wouldn't you be a very vocal participant in those demands?
