I believe I have a better idea. Get the government out of the healthcare business. They suck at virtually every business they get involved in and I believe a lot more people have been harmed than helped by this entire fiasco, a word that does not adequately describe. The alleged $2500 premium reduction per family was/is a complete joke and has become, in reality, about a $3000-$4000 increase for the average family. That is the very same family that the President has continually said he is "fighting for". All that has happened with the VA is a classic example of the governments medical/business expertise. Additionally these problems are not unique to either party. In the great majority of cases, the government(regardless of who is in office) is inefficient, incompetent, and accountable to nobody and is therefore almost guaranteed to be a failure when attempting to manage a business.

My guess is, that, over the years, many more dead people voted in Illinois than in Florida

Doesn't this make even the staunchest of lefties wonder if the "compassion" of giving the uninsured free health care is more than offset by the lack of compassion exhibited in causing so many to lose work. The situation you just mentioned is far from an isolated incident. Is anyone yet willing to admit that the President misled us about the insurance program? And it is quite possible he did not intentionally mislead us. He may simply have not foreseen all the potential ramificiations which is why I get so tired of being told how smart he is.

Offering the lowest bid is simply a way to "buy" the business. Once someone gets "back in", its not that difficult ( as previously demonstrated) to recoup whatever you gave up on the first bid.
