  1. What the left seems to fail to understand is that a tighter labor market would help the poor and middle class more than a government subsidy. If there were fewer taxes, regulations and other disincentives for businesses, more businesses would hire more people thus raising the demand for employees which, in turn, would raise wages. But, instead, they believe government can make those things happen in a better manner by complaining about the "unfair disparity" between a CEO and the floorsweeper of the same company. If you cut the pay of the CEO in half,( in the name of changing that disparity),it will be of no benefit to the average Joe nor will it make the economy more vibrant.
  2. One might also wish to calculate how many part time jobs are being included in the employment numbers
  3. Wrong- Mr. Obama is an absolute economic genius. Just as he said this is the most peaceful and tranquil time in our history, he has personally engineered a robust recovery. Only problem is, the middle class (for whom he claims to be the biggest advocate)has seen its income/purchasing power decline by more than ever before.
  4. There is an old saying that goes " the speed of the boss is the speed of the gang"
  5. But she was. Newtobie, do you find these circumstances to be odd at all? Do you find it odd that there are places in this country where nearly any adult can get marijuana and yet there are other places where big brother wants to deny you the ability to buy a Big Gulp for your own "good"?
  6. Goddard College retains a convicted murdered as a commencement speaker and Rutgers "disinvites" Condoleeza Rice as a commencement speaker. Is this a sign of "compassion" or "enlightenment" or are our values going down the drain?
  7. I don't have any issues with spelling unless it is coming from someone who tries to establish that I am not intellectually qualified to talk with him/her. Have experienced that only from the left on this board plus a veiled lefty or two. The prevalence to which you refer has a definite correlation to the number of righties vs lefties on the board
  8. That is only done when one of the "enlightened" suggests that they are too intellectually superior to have conversations with the common folk.
  9. Anybody know why the edit button is not available? I posted this subject from my phone and have hypocrisy spelled wrong.
  10. It hasn't dawned on anybody yet that soft pedaling these things so as to mollify a particular segment of the world has not worked any better than the apology tour did.
  11. I believe the words/thoughts are very accurate, regardless of who offered them.
  12. Apparently I mishandled this one. I should have just copied and pasted the words and asked if anyone thought they were fallacious. However, we were recently warned about cutting and pasting, so I googled the first few words of the subject and took the first site that showed up. From my perspective, it doesn't matter where it was found, I thought the words were pretty meaningful.
  13. I got it from someone in an email and used that website only to post the words. If you prefer, let me rephrase the question: Are these sentiments wrong?
  14. I wonder if that act will be declared "workplace violence"?
  15. Would that be similar to the way the left criticized the Bush administration long before the financial crisis occurred?
  16. I could have sworn that "fallcy in his head" was very loud and boisterous prior to 2008. Have they decided there is no longer anything about which to be concerned?
  17. Predictions? How about his own predictions about uniting the country, being a leader for everyone rather than certain sectors and cutting the debt in half (because what Mr. Bush had done in the area of debt was irresponsible and unpatriotic)? The shape of the country when he entered office? Are you referring to the economic condition? If you are not, to what "shape" do you refer?
  18. How can he leave now. He has so many "investigations" over which he is presiding. Particularly the ones in which the President was "outraged".
  19. I would be willilng to bet that there are a number of journalists flying back and forth to the middle east and I would be willing to be that the majority of them are NOT on the watch list.
