Some are criticizing him for playing too much golf because it makes it appear as though running the country is not as important to him. As you know, I never believed Mr. Obama was qualified to occupy the highest office in the country. However, after seeing several videos of his swing, I am convinced he is a much better President than he is a golfer.

I still maintain that $350,000 in the larger scheme of things, is far too insignificant about which to be concerned. For those who are "concerned" about the waste of taxpayer dollars, there are a 1000 places where considerably more than this can be saved. As for me doing what "I claim to hate" I will try to put it another way. If a local gas station owner has a couple of employees stealing a coke from the drink machine twice a week and another employee stealing 500 gallons of gas per week, which issue is more important and should be addressed first? I am sure that you could also find some republicans abusing their franking privilege but, on a relative basis, its so insignificant that misusing some postage stamps is too far down in the pecking order to attack right now.

Not sure it will accomplish anything but it very entertaining to watch the left cry about financial responsibility/ waste of taxpayer dollars. If my memory is correct the losses at Solyndra make $350,000 look like a lost penny. Jeff Neely, a regional commissioner for the GSA, spent $823,000 on a conference for GSA employees in Vegas. I 2009, seven GSA employees were found guilty of accepting bribes and defrauding the government. The cost for that adventure was $750,000. Therefore, while the lawsuit may be a waste of money, lets cry foul about more serious wastes. I also wonder what the "cost" has been to finally get the IRS to admit they have back ups for the missing Lois Lerner emails when they could have easily admitted same in the first place and saved months and $ of investigatory efforts?

And to think it all began ( with a number on this board accepting the theory) that it was just a couple of rogue agents in Cincinatti. Lies are so frequent that they are now accepted as factaul and rationalized as justified because Herbert Hoover once lied.

Why Do You Guys Put So Much Faith In Politicians?

Not done their homework? Sounds like you are describing a low information voter to me. -
Just wondering if the police were called in to break up such a crowd and some sort of tussle took place, would the police be criticized for profiling?

Underfunded Pension Plans- what should be done?

Agree- the promises ought to be honored. At the same time, one of the problems is that promises are made without sufficient analysis of the resources necessary to fulfill those promises long term. The federal government is particularly guilty in such instances. -
How comforting to know that people such as this individual are helping to shape the values/judgements of young adults.

While "tactically shifting a portfolio " sounds very good, it is much easier said than done. Often, the "tacticians" are no better than the non tacticians when it comes to managing money. Most of the time, the markets recognize the shifting economic environment well ahead of the tacticians who, as a result, are unable to take advantage of the shifts. One need look no further than at the number of sophisticated hedge funds that have gone bust - they were supposedly armed with the most brilliant of tacticians. Additionally, in years such as 2007-2009, it didnt matter where you shifted the money, because, other than cash, there was no place to hide. All sectors got hammered. -
I will if you will

What if he really was "color traumatized" or had his "arse whooped or something"? We often hear about how mistreatment of someone or some group somehow explains their subsequent behavior/conduct.

Its actually quite easy to be "offended" if you decide that is what you want. It hasn't been that long ago when I was having a conversation on this board with an individual who is not here much anymore. We were talking about families and the things that are taught to their children. I was talking about kids and used the word "young" ( as in "they teach their young the wrong thing". The conversation immediately changed to accusing me of racism because, by using the word "young" I had referred to families as animals since that is a word oft used to describe the offspring of animals. If one looks hard enough at almost any words uttered by someone else, there is usually a way for someone to misconstrue the statement so as to make the author something they are not. This forces a lot of people to "walk on eggshells" and I believe that is a real shame.

From my perspective, there is a strong similarity in these two cases. The similarity to which I referred in another post was the fact that certain sectors of society attempt to try and convict the accused in both instances without permitting the investigations to run their course. Those efforts are inflammatory, helpful to nobody and, in a sense, exploitative of the deceased. Hence, my sarcastic remark which some chose to view as something it was not.

Come on Hippy, he was just a young, well intentioned, harmless, unarmed man who probably was looking for skittles when he was in that store.

It's a good thing you didn't provide a video supporting your explanation. When I did that, she suggested the video was contrived.

Newtobie- Glad to hear you acknowledge that all people in this country are treated fairly -
Big Girl- Do you stand by your assertion that Mr. Brown is the victim in all of this or is it possible he caused all of this?
-
I am sure that, somehow, Bush will be involved in the conversation.

Big Girl- I believe that qualifies as BOOM, ROASTED. Would you concur, ECO?
