  1. I agree- divided we fall. That's where effective leadership is needed.
  2. I think I understand now. There should be a rule that nobody can refer to low information voters or make any generalizations about them or liberals. At the same time, it will be perfectly acceptable to have threads with titles like " Why Do Teabaggers Hate America" There certainly are no assumptions or generalizations in that one. Or perhaps an even simpler method is: No criticism can be construed as objective unless it is promulgated by someone who leans to the left. I think this is how "some" define fairness. Considering the number of "righties" on this board, I think you have a long and arduous road ahead of you.
  3. Big Girl- What do you think of Gary Cobb?
  4. Thanks- EOC, now that I have seen what you are talking about, can you tell me how that differs from "blanket declarations/generalizations regarding Tbaggers?
  5. Could you please point me toward the most recent "blanket statement" about liberals tthat somebody made on this board?
  6. Don't like facts, do you Big Girl?
  7. And you know that because you have interviewed everyone who watches Fox news?
  8. Part of the calculation in determining what states are the poorest includes govt assistance. In other words, the more govt assistance a state doles out, the better the income level looks on a per person basis.
  9. Back to the fracking. I haven't checked this but I would guess there is very little if any fracking taking place in Idaho and West Virginia.
  10. Don't leave, Sixburgh. The more open minded people here, the better to offset people like me. Tobie, you are going to interpret those 8 years as you want to interpret them, so what I have to say wont matter. But I would suggest that you go back and find out what the average annual unemployment rate was during the bush years vs the Obama years. You might also wish to evaluate the national debt, which was 10.7 trillion when Mr. Bush left office and stands at over 17 trillion today and projected to exceed 20 trillion before Mr. Obama leaves office. ( don't forget that Mr. Obama, when campaigning for the Presidency, declared the debt total under Mr. Bush(10 trillion) to be irresponsible and unpatriotic)
  11. Nothing open minded about me. I am one of those "not so enlightened" who is still ignorant enough to believe that fewer taxes, fewer regulations, and smaller government can be more productive. I could never win an election because I just wouldn't be able to tell all the voters what freebies they can expect. But you are right- I should be more open minded- 6 years is not enough time to make a judgment on whether or not more taxes, more regulations, and more government in general, works. And, to make things work, I have this stupid belief that is ok for me to offer than opinion. Don't be concerned, some day I will get over it.
  12. Good point-  California, with its wise and effective fiscal management "knows" that higher taxes is the real answer.  Good model for the rest of the country.
  13. Fracking also takes place in Ohio, Lousiana, Texas, and Pennsylvania.  If fracking is the common denominator in those top five states, would it be wise to consider fracking everywhere possible?
  14. The U.S. economy grew at a rate of 1.9% in 2013, which was down from 2.8% in 2012. The average post recession growth rate(nationally) is historically in the 4% range.   When you look at the top five states in terms of GDP, they are  North Dakota, Wyoming, West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Idaho with rates ranging from 4.2% to 9.7%.   Four of those five states have Republican governors.  Is that just a coincidence?
  15. EOC- if you will spout that garbage two or three times more, you can look forward to having to make a fifth or sixth comeback under another name
  16. Dove- still clinging to the "just a few bad apples" theory?
  17. Would finding a better way to detect and deal with the bad lazy bunch do harm to those who are really trying?
  18. EnlightenedChosenone name is certainly in keeping with your conduct.  Congrats.
  19. And the left still doesn't understand why people are leaving California in droves.
  20. Once again, EOC resorting to personal insults when he has nothing else to offer.
  21. I tried to make that point LumRaiderFan but was chastised by EOC for "derailing" the topic. ( which anyone can readily see, did not happen)
  22. Which happens to be lower taxes and less regulation.
  23. I have seen the same thing and so have many others.
