Where did these "subsidies" come from? -

But wait, it wasn't that long ago that one of our fellow posters stated that Mr. Thomas and Mr. Chargois were "untouchable" -
Smitty, you are a racist homophobe.

I never said they were the only ones on welfare. NEVER EVER had made such a reference. You have simply stereotyped me into what you want me to be. We have a system that makes welfare easy and profitable and there is little if anything done to discourage being on welfare. It has become a generational way of life for some. I have a close relative who was in the beauty shop yesterday getting her hair done. She said she listened as one individual ( Caucasian) was talking loudly about how she could not spend too much money on that new car she wanted because she would have some of her "support" taken away from her. Here she sits, while getting a manicure and a pedicure ( two real necessary items for anyone) and she paid for both of them with her EBT card while bragging how she is manipulating the system. Let me give you a clue- this is not an isolated instance. -

The article is nearly 20 years old. Since 2007, the average annual compounded increase in wealth of the wealthy is 2.7%. Since 2007, the average annual compounded increase in income for Americans is 2.7%. I love how this refers so negatively to the corporations ( and, by the way, the U.S. Corporate tax rate is now THE HIGHEST in the world). If you put these corporations out of business or confiscate their profits, they are not going to hire anyone. -

I am not sure it is that tricky. We have thrown money at this issue for over 50 years and I don't see that much has really changed. -

Possible Expansion at ExxonMobil Beaumont?
stevenash replied to NorthoftheBorder's topic in Political Forum
Great news. Thank G-d for the energy industry. Yes, those greedy oil companies that make too much in profits ( except when they need to use them for situations like BP did in regard to the spill which DID NOT require a government /taxpayer bailout) are considering expanding. Profits provide the potential for more jobs and higher paying jobs. The left still does not understand that. Imagine how things would be if the Keystone pipeline was operative. -
It's really funny that borders do not matter in the case of whats going on in Mexico but they matter a lot when companies are executing inversions.

PamFAm- I know some people who have luxury cars and still use food stamps- I believe you call it misplaced values

Gutfeld: Why President Obama doesn't watch Fox News
stevenash replied to jv_coach's topic in Political Forum
I would fully expect one particularly ardent supporter of the President to come forth and suggest that the video is a phony because the sounds and lip movements are not in sync. After that is proven false, same supporter will utter "waaaaa". -
Big girl- You seem "suddenly" concerned with costs. Would you care to compare the cost of the border protection with the cost of housing, feeding, educating, and food stamping all of those who come in here illegally? Do you not understand that within all of these "poor helpless" children are some people who are very intent on harming this country?
-
Big Girl- I need to let you in on something regarding the "baiting". The suggestion put forth was that you were NOT the baitee but rather the baiter.
-
Plenty of people are whining because of what is happening to the country and the values that it once had.

I have got a feeling that there are still ways to access the water, fence or no fence.

Dove- This indicates the likelihood of more than just a few "bad apples" -
If we had the money? When did that ever stop us from doing anything?

I think bad dog gets a kick out of being baited by a "master-baiter"

Maybe Perry is trying to show some leadership in this circumstance, unlike some who refuse to get involved.

Loopy , PamFAm,Westend- How does the above little "tidbit" taste?

Come on, folks. This is just another phony scandal and was the fault of two rogue agents in the Cincinatti office.

More deportations than others in years past? I guess that is possible. However, it doesn't mean that much if more are coming in than in years past, does it? I would further suggest to you that the cost that Texas may endure will be considerably less than the cost of taking care of everyone that wants to come here. Also Loopy, do you believe that everyone coming in are all poor little innocent children?

So, since he is against Obamacare, you would not vote for him? You wouldnt want to hear what he stands for before deciding whether or not to vote for him. sounds like you will vote democratic regardless of who is the candidate for either party and with no concern for their qualificiations. sounds like a low info voter.
