Big Girl- You have constantly made reference to my desire for a smaller Federal government and you seem to agree that Texas should handle the border issue. Are you now saying that a smaller, less intrusive Federal government is desireable?
-
There you go again. The government ABSOLUTELY decides who gets coverage- everyone- and they fine you if you dont have it The Fed has set the minimum coverage that can be given. The fed decides who gets subsidized and who doesnt. And, as far as coaching decisions, you simply arent qualified ( in any sense of the words) to evaluate the decisions made by a coach who has one of the best records in the history of the state of Texas. It would be about like me trying to suggest to you that I know more about a nursing situation than you do. Oil subsidies and farm subsidies both came about via bipartisan support , UNLIKE the ACA

in a videoed address on June 10th that " the world is less violent than it has even been". Is there anyone amongst even the largest of kool aid gulpers that can honestly say that this statement, by any stretch of the imagination, has even the slightest bit of truth to it?

BIg Girl- Since you have given your life to Christ, it is very important that you respond to comments of Northofborder

Dove- I would interpret that as an impression that there was more than just a few bad apples in all of this mess. -
Westend, would you feel better if they were referred to as selective info voters?
-
Having trouble posting links again - please google " Lies, damned lied, and Obama's deportation statistics" as per the Washington Post
-
Uncle tom designation or not black enough designation is imminent.
-
And the intentional low info voters will accept that theory without questioning it whatsoever.
-
The appeals process was certainly money well spent
-
Yes, but according to Mr. Obama, earlier this year, on television, our borders were secure and the world is a safer place. Anyone who accepts that garbage without questioning it is an intentional low information voter as is the individual who accepts the Cincinatti rogue agent IRS theory or the Benghazi video theory or the lost Lois Lerner email theories.
-
I would classify those who accept bald face lies as reliable information to be low information voters. Not because they arent capable of understanding its a lie but because they believe that the motive behind the lie is ok or because the liar is a nice/likeable person. Hence they do not care to pursue the facts/truth as it may give the "other guy" the upper hand.

Dont forget that we also must find a way to control cow flatulence. A tax on the rich might work.

:D :D :D

Very true. And then we will be told we need to define words such as subsidy.

We are not going to know for a while how Obamacare is working. Additionally, Westend and Bluedove, if you accept those polls to which you refer, there is no doubt you will also accept the latest polls on the efficiency and competency of the President? Of does one get to pick and choose which polls he thinks reflect things accurately? In last months job report, everyone jumped up and down about the 288,000 increase in jobs. It broke down into two components: 800,000 new part times jobs and 523000 LOST full time jobs. You can attribute much of that to Obamacare. If this trend continues, you will then be crediting Obama for the improved healthcare and probably blaming Bush or the Tsunami or a video for the loss of full time jobs. The VA is a great example of government run healthcare.

I havent thought this out completely but maybe someone else on here could give me the plusses and minuses of this thought. If we are going to have to pay more taxes in order to help those that cant help themselves, why not permit the taxpayer to direct a portion of the taxes he pays to the charity/church of his choice just as long as that institutution in on a list that has been researched/approved by either the State or Fed govt. Those institutions would be audited on a periodic basis to make sure that the vast majority of the funds collected were distributed as per the original intent. Seems like this would remove some burden from a bloated and inefficient Federal Government and a larger percentage of the "gifted dollar" would reach those for whom it was intended. ( and I am pretty sure there would be fewer "lost email" and "broken hard drives")
-
When you give your money to the government to "help the poor" about 20 cents on the dollar reaches the poor. The rest is used to feed the behemoth bureaucracy administering all of the plethora of "compassionate" programs

Big Girl- The last two posts suggest you find a different topic
-
We can depend on the EPA to decide they have the power to garnish wages without a court order. Sorry Big Girl, but that is simply a government getting too big and too drunk on its authority.
-
That "same crap" is pretty important to the success or failure of our country. Sixburgh, what topics do you think are more important? If you have some, bring them up . If they are interesting enough, I am sure people will ignore Smitty and me and jump all over the topics that you feel are important.
-
Yes, one of the main jobs is to protect the border. But our government is too busy intruding into other peoples lives, spying on people, and devoting its energy to abusing the opposition via federal agencies such as the IRS.

You tell me how it was decided who would receive what type(s) of coverage. You tell me who decides who gets a subsidy and who doesn't, thus distorting the real cost of coverage. You tell me why the bill passed without a single member of the opposing party voting for it. I also want you to tell me that you will have no problem with the following: In Zjoris first college game, he shoots 50% from three point range and has no turnovers. The game is real close and it gets down to crunch time. Zjori gets the ball and has a wide open shot only to be told by the coach that its not his turn to shoot and he must let the other guard, who was 1 for 7 with 9 turnovers, have the ball because that lesser player is the "needy" one and he needs the opportunity to "have his moment in the sun" . And it doesn't matter that Zjori has worked his tail off year round while the other guard didn't work very hard in the off season as shown by the results thus far in the game. By the way, I than the Lord that the government is not involved in the actual doctor-patient relationship as the VA has already proven what too much government involvement has done to many.

If my memory is correct, Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona tried that and was over ruled by the Fed. And, yes we cant depend on the government for everything. It is important that you grasp that concept because the government is a lousy, incompetent manager in the vast majority of things it is involved in. Are you happy that the U.S. Postal service defaulted on its debt? WHy is that? It didn't happen to UPS and it didn't happen to FedEx. What's the difference?
