  1. Big Girl says she speaks the truth- I guess disavowing the national debt is a latest version of the truth.
  2. Ok- I guess you are saying that Smitty doesn't understand the constitution and/or its intent very well?  The only time I get troubled by the legal system is when it gets abused to extort money from individuals which is what I believe is happening with the guy who is suing the Yankees and ESPN because he was shown sleeping at the game.
  3. If all of us don't have much faith in elected officials, why should they be given more powers of intrusion (regardless of party) than they already have?
  4. Dove- you say the current President was not elected because of his color but yet you also say the current level of dissatisfaction is rooted in racism.  Hmmmm
  5. Now there is certainly an objective and unbiased opinion.      Well done!!!!!     You could also post Big Girls comments on how unworthy I am to debate with you.
  6. LumRaiderfan- there is a very good chance that your comment will be declared as racist and hateful.
  7. And that commentary is coming from someone who has made 22.9% more posts than I have.  Of course I have more posts on this subject because it is a lot more serious than Larry Bird, HJ, and gazing.  I guess I could go back and count the posts regarding weak scheduling and improper off season training that you have offered but I will pass because I am "compassionate" and have a high appreciation for opinion "diversity" and being "tolerant" of opposing viewpoints.
  8. Why should you be surprised?  Have I ever said anything that was critical of our judicial system?  I must admit I have concerns about frivolity within the system but, then again, no system is perfect. I have another question for you that I once asked before but either missed your response or perhaps you didnt answer.  You appear to have a problem with Smitty on this forum.  The great bulk of what Smitty complains about is our failure to adhere to the constitution.  Wouldn't you agree that following the constitution is the right way to go?
  9. Very, very telling is simply your interpretation.  I am highly unhappy with how the country is being operated( and I believe the most recent polls will solidly prove that I am not in the minority) and I believe that this country was organized in such a manner that it is an acceptable practice to voice ones concern as often as one feels the need.  Based on what you are implying, should one conclude you hate Smitty and me because your" volume" of responses is substantial? I am not going to conclude that because it is moronic to do so.  Regardless of how you spin it, volume does not indicate hatred or racism.   I have said nothing that is any worse than what you said about Bush being borderline retarded or Clarence Thomas being the worst Supreme Court judge in history.  You obviously believe they were  ill prepared for their jobs and those are my exact sentiments about the current President.
  10. Yes, I do.  And that ought to be the extent of government involvement.
  11. TxHoops- Please locate and identify for me, anything I have said about Mr. Obama that qualifies as vitriol.  That is not much different than your suggestion that it was commonplace for me to "brag" about my financial status when the fact is that I ONCE stated that I paid more in taxes than some more highly educated folks that I knew( in the formal sense) earned.  Additionally, volume of criticism does NOT equate to vitriol, by any stretch of the imagination.  As for the compassion you hold for Mr. Bush, I can tell you that it is very well concealed.
  12. From an economic viewpoint, in comparison to Mr. Obama, George Bush is the ultimate genius.
  13. It's even more sad to see  an individual placed in a leadership position without leadership ability.
  14. Once again, Chris Christie recently stated that the top 1% of earners pay 41% of all taxes collected in the state of New Jersey.  When they decided to get "cute" with the tax code, the top 1% simply quit selling assets( thus not realizing capital gains and paying the taxes associated with said gains) and moved money from dividend paying assets ( more taxes paid on dividends when paid) to assets that either pay tax free income or are more likely to pay a gain at some point in the future.  As usual, the government, reduced total revenues rather than increasing them ( even though"fairness" sounded so good)  New Jersey had a 700 million revenue shortfall.
  15. And the courts will settle the matter.  If the builder you are referring to, did this in error, he will pay for his error in the court case.  If it is a regular way of conducting business, he wont be in business much longer.  The markets are better equipped to punish/reward than the government is.
  16. And a considerable amount of taxes are paid when they pass their assets to their heirs.
  17. Lets assume that every item you mentioned is nothing but the unvarnished facts.  ( although it is a little odd that you express your "concern" over the Rangers debt levels  but are seemingly untroubled by the debt level of this country- and there is really no comparison between the two) If I am a "Fuller Brush Franchisee and I am looking for salespeople, I will gladly hire the guy who failed at selling them  in prior years( experience, whether good or bad, is the best teacher) particularly if the other applicant  tells me that his only business experience is organizing pic-nics in his neighborhood.  I also am amazed that you can rationalize away two consecutive gubernatorial elections followed by two consecutive Presidential elections to "luck" and "the right connections".  But the one claim/inference that intrigues me the most is that Mr. Hicks is either an ignorant businessman (by paying too much for a sports franchise) or that he " bought" a future position at the University of Texas for an outlandishly high cost.  I suppose both are possibilities.  However, I am guessing that the Rangers had a much greater chance of being successful than Solyndra, Satcon Technology, Fisker, Ener1 and a host of others.  If you add in the  fact that the U.S. Postal service defaulted on  some debt last fall and went from a 600 million debt to 15 billion in debt in the last 4 years, you should be able to fully understand why I have such a strong preference for private sector business management and repeatedly criticize those who believe otherwise.   As for your advice to me on lightening up, be advised that, if my skin were as "thin" as you suggest, I would spend little, if any time on this forum.      I want to repeat one other question as either I missed your answer or you didn't provide it for me. You appear ( by virtue of your statement) to consider your description of Mr. Bush as "borderline retarded" as compassionate..  At the very same time, when I criticize Mr. Obama ( mostly for his economic policies) you apparently regard that as vitriolic and/or racist.  I sure am having a difficult time reconciling that.
  18. I begrudgingly give Mr. Obama credit for meeting with Governor Perry today regarding the border crisis.  Even though he should have been at that border to display his "sensitivity" ( which the left claims to exclusively own) he did, at least have a conversation with Mr. Perry.  Even if the meeting was symbolic and not substantive, I still believe it creates a better impression than being shown having a beer and playing pool in Denver.
  19. How does such a "failed" individual accomplish that?
  20. No problem.  You led me to believe that the answer was so obvious and so well known that only a lightweight such as me, didn't know about it.  You led me to believe you had so many pat answers for such an ignorant question that you could answer while doing your work just as you did with the cute little thank you for bringing humor, etc etc.  I hope you can enjoy your dinner and not be overcome by the  hilarity that I have provided.  After you "school' me, I am sure I will shrink away from this board after being so badly embarrassed.
  21. I started a new thread about this so you can expound on this laugher.  Let me understand you.  You have time to answer some of my questions but not all of them.  You seem to already be armed with devastating knowledge about all of the failures of Mr. Bush, so wouldn't it be just as easy to give a few instead of telling everyone how much you are laughing at me?  As earlier stated, the condescension approach is most unproductive on this board.  Only Enlightened/Chosen employs it very often and he has been banned several times.  SInce you have a slam dunk, why don't you just go ahead and take the shot?
  22. I was recently informed of the borderline retarded status of George Bush as well as what a failure he was in the business world prior to becoming the President.  Can someone please help me understand how you get elected as Texas Governor, and then get re-elected by an overwhelming majority as Texas Governor again and then,  following that, you become the President and get re-elected to that office as well?  Am I missing something or does that suggest that the aforementioned individual has some intellect?  If not, I guess it means the majority of people in Texas and subsequently, in the United States judged him to be competent.  That is, of course, unless those type of results only apply when someone from the left is elected?  If my inquiry is overwhelmingly comical, just count me in as being as stupid as W, but, for the sake of compassion, provide an explanation.
