  1. Sorry, but I find no compassion in "borderline retarded".  Cant respond to the others because you are too busy laughing?  Think that would sell in the courtroom?  Feigned condescension has no value in our discussion.   Why is it that my criticism of Mr.Obama is "vitriol" and your criticism of Mr. Bush is compassion?  I know that is a really funny question too, but go ahead and answer it just for my edification.  Do you feel any sympathy for someone who wouldn't know the truth if it hit him in the face?  Does all of the laughter you are experiencing slow down the search process on the computer?
  2. One more small item_  I find it very difficult to criticize Mr. Bush in his business pursuits.  He turned a $600,000 investment in the Texas Rangers into $15,000,000.  If I am running a business, I believe I will hire him instead of a law professor.
  3. Txhoops- for a individual who recently denounced vitriol, I think I am sensing that is the exact emotion you are directing at Mr. Bush.  Come on, now - where is that "tolerance" that gets touted/celebrated as a unique characteristic of the left?
  4. Which one?  I have used lots of them 1794 times because "certain people" don't "get it".   Please elaborate on Mr. Bush's business failures and tell me why being a success or failure at business is not more instructive than being a community organizer.  Or do you possibly believe there are not tons of successful businessmen who, at some point in their business life, were failures but learned from their mistakes and responded accordingly rather than sticking to an ideology that is a demonstrated failure in virtually every country in which it operates.  At any moment, Big Girl ought to chime in about how much smarter you are than me about these things.  But I believe I will just hang around anyway.  I would also add that Mr. Bush 's record as governor of Texas( I am sure you will tell us how ignorant the citizens of Texas were for electing him to consecutive terms as governor) is considerably more productive than voting "present" 75% of the time in a 2 year position in the Senate.
  5. A real leader would have been at the border.  You all cheered him on when he made his appearance with Chris Christie in New Jersey after the hurricane.  Both are/were serious situations that need a real leader to assure the population that he is concerned and engaged.
  6. The economy was going to go through what it experienced regardless of who was the President.  Perhaps someday you will grasp that, but, then again, you may never grasp it because the left told you it was all Bush's fault and you accepted that.  Funny thing is, Bush had little, if any, to do with the financial meltdown which was initiated by the sub prime mortgage debacle, which was caused, for the most part, by a couple of guys named Frank and Dodd.  Its not abnormal for a country to "buy into" something such as "change we can believe in" and a plethora of promises ( none of which were kept) that sound so good .  I could share with you a comparison of the Bush recovery following the Clinton recession as compared to the Obama recovery following the Bush recession, but your grasp of what happened in 2007 suggests that you would not get it.
  7. Everybody  ( well, nearly everybody) knows very well that the government is TERRIBLY incompetent at managing most anything except essential services.  Why on earth do they want them managing things that they can't manage?  The party in power does not matter.  There is no accountability in government and there never will be. Isn't it interesting that Rick Perry's blunder was regarded as a major, humongous faux pas but talking about campaigning in 57 states was just an insignificant mistake that the media did not display 5000 times?
  8. Excuse me, TxHoops but are you honestly suggesting that Mr. Bush did not know how to lead the country but Mr. Obama does?  Can you please explain to me how suggesting that Mr. Bush was "borderline retarded" is an acceptable comment but you find it "really offensive" that someone would have the nerve to inquire about Mr. Obamas birthplace, his college transcript, or his possible sympathy to Muslims?  For the record, Mr. Obamas method of dealing with the border crisis suggests something substantially less than leadership.  I guess I could go further into his economic" leadership", and his willingness to let the economy suffer in order to further his social justice agenda, but will save that for later.  And the difference between Mr. Bush's success/failure in running a business prior to being the President compared to Mr. Obamas is akin to comparing Apple to a Lemonade stand.  And, rest assured, it wasn't Mr. Obama running apple.
  9. Obamacare is the main reason many businesses have not expanded or hired more people and is major contributor to some shelving their plans to establish a business and hire employees.
  10. It's racist to criticize the President.  I just received an email that had a photo of Mr. Holder with a heading that said"  Actually, Barack and I like to think of is as the " Department of Just-Us"
  11. Smitty, when you are googling " Business owners who like Obamacare" it doesn't tell you the political predilection of those mentioned.  Rest assured the list is extremely short.
  12. While we wait for Smittys next "part", could someone please explain to me how the current border situation is a good thing and why it hasnt been that long ago that Mr. Obama stated, publicly, that our borders were secure?  Isn't it somewhat ironic that John Kerry requested a regime change in Iraq because their borders are not secure?
  13. One down and 200,000 to go.
  14. Sorry, but from an economic standpoint, you couldnt be more off base. And please dont bring up the sub prime mortgage debacle which turned into a terrible recession because the seeds for that debacle simply werent sown by Mr. Bush. If you dont mind, please tell me what actions Mr. Bush took that made him the worst President ever. Oh, and one more thing, much of Mr. Obamas legacy has yet to be realized from the "Affordable" ( joke) Health Care Act. I am betting it will do considerably more economic damage to the country in the future than it has already done. I, of course, am biased but I have no recollection of Bush telling anywhere near the number of lies in 8 years that his successor has in 6.
  15. Dove- am I understanding you correctly? When I say that the Presidents approach to our economy is absolutely horrible, it really means something else?
  16. Dove, regarding the crowd of people lined up to see the President in Austin- did you also see how many showed up to see him in Denver, where, a few years ago, a vast throng cheered this man who was going to part the waters?
  17. If Clarence Thomas is "quite possibly" the worst justice in the History of the Court, then there is no doubt that Harry Reid is the worst Speaker in the history of the House. (despite the fact that Mr. Thomas competency/perceived compency has nothing at all to do with the point I was making about Mr. Reid)
  18. Prepare to be told that you want to let rivers burn and children to not be educated.  From my viewpoint, just about anything we can do to reduce the size and intrusion of government would benefit everyone.
  19. I am sure this is a lie perpetrated by Fox News in attempt to reduce our compassion and admiration for diversity.
  20. Costco just announced it was reversing its decision to remove the book because so many people threatened to terminate their Costco memberships.
  21. Then I would hope someone could convey that to Harry Reid.  Mr. Reid recently stated ( in a tantrum over the Hobby Lobby decision) that he intended to ensure that, in the future, decisions regarding womens health would not be made by 5 white men.  ( Last time I looked, Clarence Thomas did not fit that description)  I am going to guess that there are a lot of people, who upon hearing that, will believe that is a step in the right direction even though it is just as much of a lie as standing on the senate floor saying he "heard" that Romney hadn't paid income taxes in 10 years.  Sometimes those types of statements breed "vitriol".  I have been a frequent critic of the President and also a frequent critic of Reid and Nancy Pelosi and yet I have NEVER heard a single complaint about my criticism of Reid and Pelosi.  From those circumstances, am I to conclude that criticism of Reid and Pelosi is acceptable but criticism of the President is not?  If that is the case, I need additional clarification.
  22. That paragon of virtue and objectivity, Rosie O"Donnell has just accepted a position on the View.  No longer will Fox News be able to claim to be Fair and Balanced because Rosie and Whoopie, together, are THE definition of fair and balanced.  Big Girl, are you as excited about this as I am?
  23. TTT- come on big girl, you can answer this without consulting your friend with the MBA in economics who understands macroeconomics better than me.
  24. How many of you feel that the President has  improved the state of race relations in this country?.  If you do think he has had a positive impact, what has he done to improve things in that area?
