Still waiting on you, Big Girl
-
Corps are leaving because the tax environment is not competitive. Doesn't matter who is in office. You cant blame this on Reagan. If "our dear leader" is so economically enlightened, why would he not push to lower corporate taxes? Once again, big and intrusive government is COUNTERPRODUCTIVE and we have the statistics to show that. And I suggest to you repeatedly( even though thinkprogress.org wont give you a response to post) that many people who would normally open a small business do not because of taxes, regulations, and uncertainty around Obamacare. I beg you to show me how a businessman/potential businessman would say this: Just as soon as they raise taxes some more and require me to pay for everybodys healthcare, and make me go through a 15 month environmental impact study, I am going to open a business that will flourish. You'll never win this one Dove. Maybe on social policies you can find some justification, but on the business side, your man is unknowledgeable, inexperienced, and doesn't mind destroying the economy is order to make things, from his perspective, "more fair". All of his advice comes from academics who share his ideology and have no practical business experience. Talk the talk sounds great, but walking the walk is necessary and he simply can't/won't do it. And, for the umpteenth time, if we simply confiscate the wealth of say the top 20% of all individuals and spread it evenly among the other 80%, it wont be long till most of the top 20 regain their wealth and you will be saying how they did so unfairly and at the expense of the "little guy".

Westend, did the article not say that 6 other people magically lost their hard drives and that these six were persons of interest in the case?

Hey Newtobie:Guess who was the single largest shareholder of Halliburton( and, as a result the biggest beneficiary of corporate success) the entire time that you complained about Dick Cheney? It was Ladybird Johnson. Imagine that!!! -
Both. I am sure you think you are going to make a point if I say small and I don't mind playing that game. There are many small businesses who are not being opened because of the high tax rates, multiple new regulations, and the uncertainty surrounding the Affordable (ha-ha) Care Act. A water truck driver in Williston North Dakota makes a 6 figure income. A McDonalds worker there makes $15 per hour and both happened without government involvement. I know this may come as a shock to you, but the free market is and always has been the solution to economic ills. If the Keystone Pipeline weren't being held up, there would be several more "WiIliston North Dakota" environments popping up around the country. But I guess it is much more important to make sure the environmentalists vote for you. ( that's really putting the country first, isn't it?) Corporations are trying to leave this country because the tax rates are about 10 percentage points higher than they are in Europe. But, maybe if the corporations can not pay their taxes and attribute it to computer hard drive crashes (which appears to be quite acceptable these days) they might elect to stay here.

I am ALWAYS impressed with any study that has the word CONGRESSIONAL tied to it. If lower taxes dont stimulate the economy, then it must me higher taxes stimulate the economy. Sorry, Dove, the last couple of years are evidence that isnt the answer. Once again, this is the weakest recovery from a recession since World War 2 with GDP running at slightly half the average GDP in such periods. Additionally, we had a contraction in GDP during the first quarter. Say or spin what you want, the actual results SCREAM that the current policy is COUNTER PRODUCTIVE

Iraq Sunni militant group vows to march on Baghdad

And what did ISIS just find in Iraq? Hint- it wasnt bubble gum -
Does anybody see the irony in Mr. Kerry requesting a regime change in Iraq because the government is unable to secure its borders?
-
Westend, I would like for you to go ahead and declare you believe that the Benghazi attack was attributable to the video.
-
Absolutely not. This administration has proven that it is ethical and, of course, transparent.
-
No a forum full of people who understand a basic principle that lower taxes stimulate business and increases jobs as opposed to bigger government and higher taxes doing the opposite.
-
Hmmm- I am just wondering if it is possible that the suspect might not be telling the truth? Na, couldnt be. Those type people are of the highest integrity.
-
You dont need the video, Dove. Just tell them how society is progressing so well and that they just hate change.
-
Come on Smitty, this is just another coincidence.
-
You are right. What we really need is more taxes and let the government create the jobs because it is so effective and efficient in the business world.

Obama Calls Out ‘Millionaires’ to Pay for Student Loans

I think Cuban is right. But I am sure the current administration will bail everybody out and tell the rich they need to pay more to "make things right". After all, to some it is the universal solution. -
Thanks for posting that about Megyn Kelly and Dick Cheney. Just goes to prove that Fox is fair and balanced and you proved that for everyone..

Top Three Myths about the Great Depression and the New Deal

If my memory is correct, two things come to mind. Large tax increases and the Smoot Hawley Act. -
Calling Big Girl who has bashed and trashed Bush every opportunity regarding the WMD story. What say you now?
-
I have no earthly idea what your last sight is supposed to prove. My point is that for new manufacturing investments, the vast majority of the investments were made in states run by Republican governors, and anything you choose to post will not alter that fact.

. I comprehend as well as anyone else on this board. You offer criticism of a past administration but are unable to tell us why this one is better or why Hillary will be better even though u don't know who her opponent will be. You often speak out against those you think look for reasons to disrespect Mr. Obama. If you are right, tell me why they do that. In my opinion, respect is earned and so is disrespect.

What is it about this presidency that you like better than the Bush presidency.? Is it the employment level? Is it the transparency of the administration? Is it the fact that you can keep your healthcare plan if you like it? Is it because the National debt is so much lower? Is it because the ft hood killings were labeled workplace violence rather than terrorism? Is it because Benghazi was the spontaneous response to a video? Is it because the IRS is so trustworthy? Is it because the average family income is $5000 per year lower than it was in 2007? I can certainly understand why you find this presidency preferable to the Bush Administration. let me help you with one other item. Recessions are part of a cyclical economy and come along periodically regardless of who the President is. The only people who dont comprehend that FACT are the kool aid consumers.

And not liking Bush justifies and makes acceptable all of the lies you hear these days?
