If an individual has a heart attack, he needs to be taken to the hospital and the appropriate action taken so as to stabilize him. After that, they can discuss oat bran and exercise to their hearts content.

But a bomb in Parkdale Mall might affect your sisters kids. And I suspect he is correct in his appraisal of how you would react.

Even though you failed to provide the link, I did notice that your statement is , perhaps, the biggest oxymoron I have ever encountered.

Iraq Sunni militant group vows to march on Baghdad

Big Girl- You have frequently declared your concern for those who have lost their lives in wars for causes that we believed were a threat to our freedom. Why dont you now turn your concern/attention to all of those who have died in the city of Chicago and those who have died waiting for appointments at the VA administration? -
There are a number of other companies considering the same move.

We need to forget all of these phony scandals and start moving the country forward. Raise taxes, regulations, and increase the size of government. That will solve most everything.

Obama Calls Out ‘Millionaires’ to Pay for Student Loans
stevenash replied to LumRaiderFan's topic in Political Forum
I think that a lot of these issues can be resolved with a prospective student doing adequate research of what's available out there and adding in a dose of common sense. If one compares the cost of getting a French Literature Degree at Columbia to getting a business degree at Arizona State or North Carolina, from my perspective, they will have received a comparable education for 50% less and they will become a much more desirable commodity for the workforce.( if this happened frequently enough, the market would likely cause some changes in the pricing structures at the high priced schools) Furthermore, doing so does NOT require any type of government intervention which includes another bureaucracy which is expensive, ineffective, and without accountability. The final plus, of course, is that a problem can actually be solved without the answer being some sort of tax for those "not paying their fair share". When you refer to college education as a racket, I would say that the college education racket pales in comparison to the "Affordable" Health Care Act racket. -
Moderate is a good thing if one is, by definition, a moderate. My guess is, that, in a political sense, moderate is a euphemism for disguised lefty or righty. I wonder if there are any Al Qaeda members who describe themselves as "moderate" Al Qaeda members? I would further guess that Anthony Weiner considered himself a moderate user of social media. Claiming moderation and living it are vastly different.

And if it was as simple as you claim it to be , Westend, Ms. Lerner wouldn't be pleading the fifth. But I understand your position. This was necessary after the "2 rogue Cincinnati agents became equally credible to the Benghazi Video theory. Isn't it just amazing that the Republicans can keep making up phony scandals in an effort to harm the most transparent administration in the history of this country?
-
You mean I am wrong about your qualifications to decide who does and does not deserve tax exempt status? Sorry, I was foolish to think that the committee didn't consult with you. I do notice, however, that despite several inquiries, you remain mum about Ms. Lerner and the "suddenly lost emails".
-
I can still remember Mr. Obama stating on a television interview that the very minute he was elected, our relations with the middle east and Muslim community would improve dramatically.
-
Baddog- worry not. Our President announced long ago that there would be an investigation regarding Benghazi and the perpetrators would feel our wrath. I guess it just takes a while for these "investigations" to bear fruit. Is it my imagination or have there been several "investigations" that have provided no results?
-
Big Girl- The Democrats are the collectivists, the one who want everything for the "common good". If the elected officials( dems and repubs) decide it is for the "common good" to be involved in a war, are you suddenly going to abandon the "common good" theory?
-
I very much doubt you are qualified to decide who does and who does not deserve tax exempt status. Dance around it all you want. The point of all this is that the vast majority of the investigative targets were from the right. There is nothing co-incidental about that just as there is nothing co-incidental about all the missing emails and Ms. Lerner pleading the fifth. ( and, I am pretty sure any level headed person realizes this but some will not abandon/question the cause under any circumstance)

How about ten sons? -
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D RaiderFan. you must remember, though, just how good the word Moderate sounds to people. It makes them believe they are independent, objective , unbiased and never swayed by anything ( except when the kool aid comes along) They believe in terms like President Obamas "balanced approach to resolving our fiscal issues even though the part of balanced that has occurred has been the tax hikes while the spending has been ignored)
-
Sure. What group on the left had its applications delayed 18 months or longer? Apparently you don't believe Ms. Lerner taking the fifth and the missing email have anything to do with any of this, right?
-
Come on, now. Political sounding is a very relative term and one could declare almost anything as "political sounding". Sounds like you are now backing off of your original contention which was" Tea Party was an obvious easy target. Furthermore, are you trying to suggest that the only "political sounding names" were of conservative groups?
-
Smitty, I would guess that you are about to be told how smart Mr. Obama is because he got good grades in college. Unfortunately, college teaches little if anything about leadership and that is learned mostly through experience. A good example might be to compare the education background of Carter and Reagan. Carter graduated 59th out of 800 at the Naval Academy and then got an advanced degree studying nuclear physics. Reagan just had a plain old 4 year undergrad degree before moving to Iowa to be a radio announcer. I am confident that Reagans post education experience developed much more leadership capabilities than that of Carter and I believe there are results that would back up my contention.

Dumb comments? There is nothing dumber than claiming that our $17 trillion national debt is a lie and does not exist

Big Girl- I noted how you spoke that some people " predicted" this would happen. I am having trouble posting links but permit me to suggest you go to youtube and input " in 2010 Biden Predicted Iraq would be on of the great achievements of this administration" -

"People" also predicted the average family would see a $2500 reduction in their health care costs.
