I think you missed the point. Whatever happened 50 years ago, or 30 years ago, has no bearing on what is happening today. I am not declaring this exchange to be right or wrong and have mixed feelings about it. If you want to keep comparing things on a historical basis, I will simply ask you why the National debt is 70% higher than it has ever been under this President?
-
You have got it all wrong. These people dont want money. They are just like the woman who brought out her story on Herman Cain.( I'll bet she collected HER money before she brought out the story)They are simply trying to protect future victims from conservative sexual predators.

I am saddened by your description of me. You recently told us on this board that you had re-dedicated your life to Christ. Is this part of that re-dedication?
-
Of course he was wrong. You can tell a lot more about a person you dont even know by his political values expressed on a message board than your father can after playing basketball with a man for many years and also having hundreds of conversations with him at HJ basketball games. I commend you on your unique capabilities.

And how do you feel about President Trumans decision to send troops to Korea on June 27,1950? Or was that so long ago that it really has no bearing on today ( just like all of your Reagan examples)
-
The nose dive you noticed was the realization that you might have voted for advocating self reliance in life rather than just in basketball.

The liberals will always do well when it comes to the vote because they always have a "cause" that is so important. Hillary launched hers the other day when, during a speech, she spoke of "the cancer of inequality". Like it or not, the low info voters will interpret that as " shes gonna give me something the other guy has because I deserve it and he doesnt and I am an innocent victim of circumstances beyond my control" Guess which way they will vote.

Smitty & Stevenash - When Will The Wealth Trickle Down?
stevenash replied to EnlightenedChosenOne's topic in Political Forum
Smitty, they much prefer the trickle up poverty theory to the trickle down wealth theory because seemingly, it's more "fair". What they still don't get it that if you tax and regulate the wealthy out of existence, there is no one to malign and no money to be had ( they, of course, believe the government could manage that "wealth" a lot better) -
Smitty & Stevenash - When Will The Wealth Trickle Down?

The article refers to 485,000 overall jobs lost . These are coal miners, electrical workers, utility workers, boilermakers and railroad workers. I don't understand this, BIg Girl and PamFam. Aren't these the VERY people our President vowed to improve life for? Aren't these the "little guy", the "average Joe" that those heartless Republicans refuse to think about? This sure is confusing. Mr. Obama told us how he wanted to protect those folks and act on their behalf. This must be a Republican article. But wait, much of the info is coming from Unions, another bastion of support for our President. Hmmm, I wonder if the President might be more interested in politics than helping the common man. Could that possibly be? No way. -
Smitty, I honestly believe it comes down to this. Liberals SINCERELY believe that they, and only they know what is best for everyone.

Smitty & Stevenash - When Will The Wealth Trickle Down?

Big Girl, would you then say that as long as there are a few things not being run by the government, that it would not qualify as socialism? If so, would you still define it as capitalism? -
PamFAm,You need to pay closer attention. The post was intended to belittle those who sought to convict George Zimmerman by suggesting that the only reason that incident occurred was because Martin was a minority wearing a hoody.

NBC’s Bias Becomes Embarrassingly Obvious...

I wonder if PamFAm10, Newtobie, and Big Girl consider this to be a model of journalistic intergrity? -

Its better to judge a person by his actions rather than his words AKA " If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep it, PERIOD." "This will be the most transparent administration in history". Those are all fine words but they weren't honored by the author. -
Well, Pamfam- are you going to accuse LumRaiderFan of a classless post?
-
Assaults are never ok
-
Wow, I have not encountered many people who can tell me what was on my mind when I made a post and what result I was seeking. Are you related to the enlightened/chosen one?
-
An old school guy like you knows very well that "the harder I work, the luckier I get". Or is the old school approach only applicable in basketball?
-
Its called illustrating absurdity by being absurd.
-
Pamfam- have you ever compared the "poverty line" in this country with it of other countries? What is the solution to getting people out from under the poverty line? Is it simply to give them money? ( Lyndon Johnson started "The War on Poverty" many years ago and while it sounds so noble, it has changed very little. Please tell us how you would deal with this if you were the President.

Very well said sir, but the ten or 15 times I have said it, it has fallen on deaf ears. The incentive to produce is being removed and replaced with an encouragement to let the government solve all issues.

Smitty & Stevenash - When Will The Wealth Trickle Down?
stevenash replied to EnlightenedChosenOne's topic in Political Forum
Smitty, she may look it up but likely wont understand it. If she does understand it and is unwilling to acknowledge it, you will get one of these: 1. I am college educated and will no longer debate with idiots 2. That information is from Republicans and all of their information is untrue. 3. ROFLMAO -
I dont believe the U.S. has many hunger deaths either.
