  1. Getting rid of contributions wont make the middle class financially stronger.  Allegedly, we have a Senate and President who promised this would happen and it has worsened rather than getting better.  Average income is down since the current crowd took over.  And they are supposed to be the ones who can "identify" with the little guy.  You still haven't told me what your solution to the problem is.  Here is another hint.  If we take all of the wealth in this country and divide it equally amongst all the people, it wont be long until most of the prior upper class become the upper class again and then you can start crying again that "daddy, daddy, he won't share"  What you and the President want is not equal opportunity but equal outcomes and that cannot be legislated without a communistic type circumstance.  There is no record of that approach being successful anywhere.
  2. Poverty trickles up when more people don't have jobs or income and more people are on federal aid than ever before.  I want to let you in on a secret.  You will never eliminate poverty and there will always be a class that has more than everybody else.  You had better be thankful for that class that has a lot because they are the ones you tax so you can provide federal housing, food stamps, unemployment and healthcare to everyone else.   THey are also the ones who put their money at risk in various ventures that turn out to be considerably more successful than efforts such as Solyndra.
  3. Fine, Mr. Independent- Now please answer the questions that I asked you.
  4. Be sure to get to know Big Girl.  The two of you will make a very formidable team.  Enlightened one, just to help you get started, can you tell me if there is any truth to any of the current scandals going on in the government, or are they all simply contrivances of the Republican party?  Do you believe the problems of the Veterans Administration are somehow attributable to Bush or is the Federal Government just inept at managing such things?  I think I already know your answers but I know how you like to elucidate your position to the rest of us common folk.
  5. Wealth trickle down?  RIght now, poverty is trickling up.  Therefore, the current "approach" has increased the number of "unfortunate" rather than decreasing it.
  6. Info is from the Senate Budget Committee.  When you got your college education, were you taught that anything supported by Republicans is unworthy of consideration and that everything they say is a lie?
  7. I will let Bill Gates know that he is not qualified to debate with you.
  8. He's  BAAAACK!!!!!!!!  How can we be sure its you?  Are you planning on staying very long this time?
  9. Yep- party affiliation has nothing to do with success.  Its more a matter of do you want to go get it yourself or do you prefer to let the govt sustain you and then complain about how unfair things are.
  10. And you answered my question even though you think you didn't
  11. Disagree.  Everyone's has an odor to it.  And that applies to the President too.  Those who believe he should never be challenged or questioned are very naïve.  Those who think to question or challenge the President is a racist act, don't have much intelligence.
  12. I am saying that it is more than wrong for the Chief Executive of this country to intentionally lie to the public and nothing that happened in the past justifies that.  I asked this once and got no answer ( and I think I know why) but let me ask you:   Regarding Benghazi, IRS Scandal, NSA spying scandal, Fast and Furious, the GSA gone wild scandal, to name a few of the most prominent.  Has the truth to all of these issues come out?  Or are these all phoney scandals that have been trumped up by the Republicans?
  13. PamFAm- Weapons of mass destruction was voted on by everyone (including the Democrats who are so much "smarter" than everyone else.  Hillary voted for the war.  So no, I needn't defend anything about WMDs.  Once again, what happened 10 years ago is no justification for misleading the public today.  After all, this was going to be the most transparent administration in  history, which may be as big as any lie told.
  14. I gave you the example about the Presidents comment on healthcare plans and you simply altered it.  He simply did not tell the truth and you cant change that.  Now for Romney.  Since he lied daily, ( and I know how well you have researched it) give me three consecutive days that he lied and tell me what the lies were and what impact it had on this country..  Furthermore, tell how the lies ( if they are lies) of a candidate have as much impact as the lies of the Chief Executive of the Country.
  15. Based on recent news about the VA, it would appear that your Houston uncle is lucky that he made the A list and not the other one.  I took my basic training at Ft. Knox Kentucky and my advanced training there as well.   Where did you take your basic training.  Not being a big fan of government sponsored medical care, I have never been to the VA.  I chose to be responsible for my own medical care and all has worked out well.  While my care is not free, I am satisfied with what I am getting with my coverage even though I have no need for free birth control pills.  I always operated under that crazy notion that I should pay for my healthcare and that you should pay for yours.  I see no reason to be forced to handle it another way.  If you have to ask yourself who you had in mind for Alzheimers test, it means you probably are in the early stages.
  16.  Txhoops-And I know many intelligent highly educated people who are currently without a job or waiting tables somewhere.  My point is there are a million ways to skin a cat and a college degree merely gives you and advantage when you start. If I didn't believe that, I wouldn't have borrowed the money to attend.  However, its not the degree that promotes you.  Its what you do in your career.  I sort of look at it like I look at music ( have some background there).  I have a very close relative who, at age 15 toured Europe entertaining the troops during World War II.  This person could not read a note and played all by ear.  No formal music education.  Could hear any song once and play it back perfectly without a mistake.  I can show you many a Julliard grad that cannot do that.  And I once again urge you to look into a company called Long Term Capital management.  Operated by several Nobel Laureats with a Dr. in front of their name and they almost brought our entire economy down.  Once again proving that a Doctorate Degree, by itself, guarantees nothing.
  17. Yes, Dove, its possible to get examined for Alzheimers.  Do you want your appointment for this week or next?  Hope you are not a veteran because you may die before you get examined.
  18. Very logical answer.  However, logic these days is looked down upon.
  19. I wish I had the answer Dove.( hint - its not because of Bush or angly old white guys)  My guess is that society no longer stigmatizes single motherhood and we have become comfortable with the fact that if there is not a  father, the government will make everything all better.  How is that working out?  I am pretty confident that throwing more money at the issue will do nothing to lessen it.  If you know the answer, why don't you let the rest of us in on it?
  20. If one opposes everything that Obama does, does that make him/her a racist?   If one supports everything that Obama does, does that make him/her a racist?
  21. Can you single out one for frequency?  Are you saying that things such as " If you like your Doctor/healthcare plan, you can keep it, PERIOD" does not trouble you?  I consider that to be a more significant lie than most lies told by politicians and am not able to accept it simply because someone else has lied about something in the past.
