Totally agree.  But there are also those who believe it is at the heart of any possible problem that they may encounter.

There are some who believe racism is only a one way street.  Whats worse is that they dont think many understand that they are trying to exploit that situation to their advantage.

Anybody ever notice that the root of all problems is racism and the solution to all problems is higher taxes on the producers in this country?

If theft and waste is , as you say, "across the board" does that make it acceptable for BISD to operate in the manner that is has been operating?  Can you name a couple of other agencies where 4 million dollars of taxpayer money has been embezzled?

I read an article that stated that the district began a decline shortly after Mr. Thomas left.  Same thing happened in Beaumont.  Wonder why?

You may want to look up the financial of North Forest ISD right after Thomas left.  Is there a pattern here?

The subprime mortgage issue is what caused the most recent economic downturn.  Actually, however, what matters most is what was done to deal with the last downturn.  The results are in.  They cant be changed or altered to blame Bush or the Tsunami or whatever you want to come up with it.  Very subpar recovery.  By the way, there has NEVER been a recession from which we didn't recover.  Doesn't matter how any of them began.  This is the weakest recovery, another fact that cant be changed.

None of that will explain the FACT that this economic recovery is the weakest since WW2.  If one suggests that it is because the decline was so deep, the deeper the decline, the bigger the recovery.  It hasn't happened.  GDP over the last 5 years has run at about 1/2 of what the average recovery has done.

That's good.  Its a shame, though, that so many believed that and those same believers voted one way with no forethought whatsoever.

Stick around.  These problems began long before Mr. Thomas left.

YOu could be right.  Does it remind you of the theories that suggested Bush blew up the levees in New Orleans to harm blacks or that we went to war in Iraq to help Halliburton where Cheney used to work?

Mistakes happen.

Yes only.  That margin is much larger than the one that elected the President.  Futhermore, I would venture to guess that many of the remaining "unhappy" land owners will become happier when larger sums of compensation are discussed.

From what I read in that last article, financial agreements have been reached with 3/4 of the landowners, thus indicating that only 1/4 of them are unhappy at this point.
