Sensitiviy training in order?
I doubt Hank Jr is planning on going on an apology tour!  ;D
Too late! He's already started ;D
Before starting on his apology tour, he should have talked with the Prez to see how well that works.
Been in the "business" a while.....still get a little excited  ;)
Seems like the mental toughness aspect is still valid.

 5. I am hearing that they want to stay 4-a due to travel costs
 6.
Oh Oh, Jack Yates  and several other Houston schools may have to drop down to 3-A. WOW! Sorry HJ! You may be counting only district titles from now on ;D
WIll that have any impact on your state title  predictions for H-F?
 7.
Someone mentioned to me last week that their kid participate in cross- country running as off season conditioning. Not sure of the reasoning why this is done unless it gives the players something to do while the gyms are being occupied by volleyball games and practice. I am from the school of thought that cross-country training does not adequately prepare one for basketball. Distance running uses a whole "nother" set of muscle fibers and energy than basketball.
Dove- Isn't a basketball game a sort of distance run itself with some sprints mixed in?  In regard to energy, I didn't know that there is a "different" energy used in basketball vs running.  I  thought energy was energy.

 9. Maybe that extra conditioning mattered when HJ repeatedly beat Cleveland and Navasota when they were given no chance.

This team, while not particularly athletic, ran nearly every opponent out of the gym and averaged around 100 points per game.  I can personally attest to how that conditioning benefitted the team and was detrimental to the opposition.
I also believe in the 4th quarter conditioning. But surely HJ stopped running cross country after the season started?
Affirmative
 11. Who knows?- I have high hopes that their fourth quarter performance(s) will be better this year. (although lack of depth can certainly be a component of "fading" down the stretch) Cross Country has as much or more to do with mental toughness as anything and it develops mental toughness better than any sport out there.  If the cross country coach is also on the basketball staff, my guess is that he will be sure that the correct "fibers" get used.
Are you trying to mix in my social beliefs with my athletic beliefs? ;D I will make additional comments in the future :-X
Am looking forward to the "additional comments".  As for social beliefs vs athletic beliefs, I was thinking both would fall under a single value system/belief.
I see nothing wrong with cutting the grass cutting job or a job that is doing nothing , But when you do this who in the heck is going to buy that 30,000.00 preis?? Or the $4.00 a gallon milk?? Or the $4.oo gas. I have no prob making 15. hr as long as I dont have to pay 100.00 for a tank of gas. I say send all of them out the gate and hire them back in at 10.00 hr, but that F150 truck cant cost over $ 8000.00. Because there wont be anyone able to buy it if it still going to cost $20,000.
I think an earlier post identified the average hourly cost of the worker to be around $68 per hour.  If you cut it to $10 and another $10 for benefits, you would reduce labor costs by 70%.  I suspect that would make the cost of the trucks quite a bit less.  It's not going to happen but I think the $68 average hourly cost is a good example of why the middle class doesnt have it as bad as it is often portrayed.
What does "it has been stated" mean? ( It also has been stated that Bill Ayers is one of Obamas mentors) Also, I am referring to the corporate tax rate which  is, I believe, the second highest in the world.  As long as you have high corporate taxes, try to tell corporations where they can have plants (aka Boeing), mandate new health care costs (that still can't be quantified) and give priority to the spotted owl and sea turtle, businesses simply arent going to hire or expand but rather look for more business friendly environments.  28% is NOT the prevailing rate for many taxpayers.  I can personally attest to that.
 18.
Trust me when I say Mobil was not failing when it merged with Exxon, Texaco was not failing when it merged with Cheveron, Cingular was not failing when it merged with AT&T, Nextel was not failing when it was merged with Sprint!  Some companies get brought out or hostile taken over because they have a lot of liquid money and lok very attractive.  Yes mergers happen the other way too, nut most mergers are not to save or obtain the customers from a failing position. Gates and Jobs were both from upper middle class families so yes the money was there for both private grade schools and college tuition.  I agree that some have-nots get grant money but most don't (plenty of white have nots out there with no grant money & Pell Grants are not pulled from a bottomless pit)!  Like I said I assumed NO government assistance out side of grade school education.  By the way high risk is high reward if you have the capital to take the risk go for it!
You are right.  Taking a big risk ( the possibility of losing all that you have) is deserving of a high reward and should not be looked upon or scorned by those who choose not to take the risk or are unable to raise the capital.  If you over tax or over regulate, there will be no risk takers- gotta have risk takers from the private sector (as opposed to Solyndra and Lightsquared) in order to make things go/grow.
 19. If a merger comes about because a company is failing, I would suggest that there are many jobs saved rather than lost.  Many mergers come about well ahead of a company getting into financial trouble(because management is far sighted enough to understand what the ultimate consequence could/would be- Perhaps Solyndra should have been so far sighted) so few perceive that the company being swallowed up had the potential to be in trouble in the future.  Lehman Brothers failed and therefore, EVERY single employee lost his job.  Shortly thereafter, Merrill Lynch was absolutely going under on a Monday morning and EVERY employee would have lost his job if Bankamerica had not purchased the company on the prior weekend. That merger PRESERVED many thousands of jobs. The knowledge of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates was self developed and was not given to them by rich family members or in some unfair manner.  You infer that the have nots are somehow deprived of an education.  I believe the current system in this country actually FAVORS the have nots when it comes to getting an education.  I had to borrow every nickel of my college tuition and yet, if my father had earned a little less, I could have gotten grants for that same education.  So it is very unfair to suggest that the "haves" are at an advantage when it comes to obtaining a college education.  By the way, the owner of that car manufacturing company has his own capital at risk and the steel worker does not.  If the owner does not take the risk, the steel worker is not employed.  And those who have done the heavy lifting for Mr. Gates have been more than adequately rewarded.
 20. Disagree.  Sorry, but you dont get to specifically pick your "have nots" unless I get to specifically pick the "haves".  The fact that someone may do a strenuous job daily does NOT make them more noble or a better person.  Productivity is what matters and it is not always denominated/quantified by physical difficulty.  I submit to you that Bill Gates and Steve Jobs never did any heavy lifting but have contributed more to our economy than most including Jimmy Hoffa.  I also dispute your contention about 10 companies ending up as one due to "competition" as well as the current regulatory environment.  Most mergers come about because of economy of scale.  Hewlett Packard bought compaq computer but there still is Apple, Microsoft, and a host of others.  Ford Motor Company bought Jaguar but there are plenty of other automakers out there.  In fact, I would suggest to you that if Ford had not bought Jaguar, the Jaguar would have gone out of business and many jobs would have been lost.  If you over regulate ( for the stated objective of protecting jobs) there will be nobody willing to put their capital at risk and, hence NO jobs.
 21. From what I am reading on this board regarding next year, it appears as though Orangefield and Huffman will have dominant teams
 22.
Money can sinful. It will make you lie and cheat.
Dove- Would this mean, then, that the solution to all of our problems is simply for the government to confiscate all wealth and then nobody will lie or cheat?
 23.

Bandkid you are very smart. So you know you can look the debt vs GDP and get a true vision of the debt gained!  Think about it... debt is the numerator and GDP is the denominator.  If the Denominator gets larger then the resulting number is smaller.  If the denominator gets smaller then the resulting number is larger!  Get it!  During Bushes years market value of all final goods produced in America were very high, especially housing, oil products, and weaponry.  Those inflated cost darn near caused the recession.  The debt has been on an exponential growth spurt since the 80s Reagan Tax cuts.  If you know anything about exponential graphs (growth), by nature it leads to infinity!  In other words it had no choice but to end up here.  When we as a country began to decrease taxes on the wealthy we should have been simultaneously decreasing the government because those funds are what allows the government to operate!  But we didn’t and created this monster over the last decade and a half.  Not with just Obama!  That was too long winded. See below [Hidden Content]
Becarefull there, your starting to make to much sence, they will want you band ;D ;D You have showen that the Bush Reagan Tax cuts only benfited the very rich and HURT THE WORKING CLASS. The top 1% income went up 12% under the Bush Tax Cuts, Did any of your go up anywere close to that????
There is another reason the top percentage earners continue to earn more.  They WORK at it instead of blaming somebody else for what doesnt go right.  If you take 300 people and half are the haves and half are the have nots, start them all at zero, chances are quite good that the "evil" ones will once again wind up with the wealth.
