1. Hmmm- I wonder why the fans of the Lakers, Celtics, Yankees,Patriots, Colts expect to do well every year? Faninthestands- I hope that I have your approval for this ongoing exchange. By the way, if you choose to call me an idiot, I want you to know that you will be 1084th person to say that.
 2. I also might add that, in my opinion, the chemistry of which you speak is mostly attributable to the coaching staff.  So, if the coaching staff remains the same, the expectation is for history to repeat itself and for the players to, once again, develop a good chemistry within.

I will explain it one more time for you because I think you missed the point of me saying no History... I hate when people say a high school basketball team is going to win strictly because it happened in the year before or whatever.. If you say a team is going to win because they have better coaching, or players, or something like that, then That is a good argument.. High school teams change TOO much from year to year so history is almost irrelavant when comparing teams about to play.. Clear enough?? ;D
Aren't better coaches, better players, or "something like that" reflected in history?  I still dont remember anyone coming on this board and saying " since HJ was good last year or the year before, that automatically makes them good this year".
Better players that year and the chemistry that those players have with each other is what changes.. And Nash, that is the mindset of EVERY person in Sour Lake Im sure ;)
IF you have competent and hungry players every year and good coaches every year  what is  wrong with having expectations of success?

 6. In five years, it will be unacceptable to talk about this year because it will be history.

 9.
NObody would be shocked!!!!!!  Silsbee always seems to have some magical move in!!!!
Don't worry about it Zeek.  Palms can be greased if necessary.
 10.
I hear David Green is moving to Silsbee from Ozen next year.
Yes - and you can beat Sleepy and Lazeek on the golf course
 11.
This all sounds much less like whining and excuse making if it weren't after we got our butts handed to us by a better team.  Right now it sounds like frustration, finger pointing and a search for why we lost.  If Brian doesn't like the situation, he has options, he's a hot commodity.  All in all, I think it's working out pretty well.  I bet we could've traded coaching staffs with Ball, and they still woulda won by 20.  Fact is that English can build this program with Rocky and Bulwinkle as his assistants, no offense to our current asst coaches.  He's got the energy flowing, the numbers are out of this world, kids playing little dribblers, can barely find a seat on the fresh/jv benches they're so full, why do folks want to play this card.  Is Neumann going to make decisions that people disagree with, yep.  Will it keep Nederland basketball from being an elite program, nope.  Is Neumann gonna get run outta town over the basketball program, nope.  But none of this has anything to do with why we lost Friday... has to do with one team being superior to the other.  You're not going to find a great situation in many TEXAS high schools regarding a basketball program getting everything they want, this is TEXAS, ie FOOTBALL.  There are places like, Indiana/Kentucky/NC, where it's different.  I freakin hate it when people try to ruin a great thing.  You run Neumann out and you'll get another Football coach/AD who will do the same dang thing.  Neumann is about as good as you're going to do, get over it, move on, get better.
Newsflash- There ARE programs in Texas where basketball and football both excel!!!
 12. I know who that was directed at.  If you have several players who can create their own shot, I wonder if sharing the ball might become an issue.  Additionally, many of those "created" shots are not necessarily good shots and I see nothing wrong with a shot being "created" via a team effort.
 13.
Personally, I think the little pg from HJ made the difference on that team, Gustafson (sp?). Maybe his name should be put in the pot. No one really expected HJ to go anywhere (other than their own fans  ::)
That's the way it is most of the time-  if you use this board as a barometer.
 14. HJ will likely be a cellar dweller next season.
I haven't seenthe outfits but obviously something is not working over there. Gotta start somewhere.
Uniforms sort of remind you of Harlem Globetrotters.
nope!
If they dont have any impact players in the making, why encourage them to move to Kountze?

 18. Mamma, I suspect (and I know this from personal experience) is more concerned with the social impact of your conduct than you are, right?
 19. Thats who you need for the Longhorns
 20.

Stallworth all the way again!
I'm not convinced yet to swing my vote that way, just yet.
Not yet?  That can ONLY mean you have an Evadale player under consideration since nobody else is still playing.
 21. Hope it works out.  I want to be on that 2011-2012, no wait a minute, I mean that 2012-2013 bandwagon.
AAU Championships. He's won two straight in the 13u and 14u with Houston Select. He's also one of the top and most sought out trainers in the area. A former high school coach.
Regarding his success as an AAU coach- Do you think that has more to do with his coaching abilities or his recruiting abilities?  I dont follow AAU that much- Are you saying he has won two straight NATIONAL AAU championships?
He just coaches. He does not recruit. Yes, he has won 2-straight National AAU championships. His last year team was kinda like HJ, but going up against a team like Jack Yates in a national championship. The other team(Indiana Speice) has 2-3 projected major D-1 prospects
If he doesnt recruit, how does his team get assembled?
Someone else recruits :D
I was just curious if their success was more attributable to his coaching skills or to the "skills" of whomever recruits.
 23. She probably made the right decision
 24.
Good Luck Rebels! Bring home the nets!
I applaud you for wishing Evadale the best.  However, PLEASE do not PREDICT that they will win the State Championship.  We want them to have a fair chance to do so.
 25. I therefore suggest that giving the coach more autonomy might be a more productive issue than who they secure as the new coach.
