1. Is there some way we can get this game to be played at Lee Junior College in Baytown?
Why would you tell a person not to predict success for a team? They are high school kids why would you not want them to be successful you act like he is putting down another team, he is just being supportive of the team he wants to win.
Nobody wants those kids to be successful more than I do.

I respect your opinion, but you have to admit, good players can have great games.
Agreed, but Prudhomme performed equally well against Stafford in an overtime game just a few nights before.  But, I guess he just happened to have two consecutive great games.  If you have many more than that, you just might be better than many think.
I'm not going to argue that he doesn't have the potential. Just don't think he's there, yet. IMO
No problem  You are entitled to your opinion and I respect that
 5. Please stop predicting success for HJ.
 6. And Nederland is a part of that "tougher competition"

Show a little support Soulja..... I know deep down you are cheering for us just a little bit..... you can admit it.   8) :D
I asked the same thing earlier. Outside of Nederland fans, only Lazeek and Scoooter r giving Nederland the respect they deserve!
I know....my faith is strong and I believe we are gonna  beat BALL.  I can't believe we are not getting more respect from the basketball community.  This Nederland team is special and is representing 20-4A top notch style.
It's ok.  The skepticism is probably going to work to your advantage.
I admire you sir, for your integrity and forthrightness.  I will bring you a new brand of golf ball that you will like and you might find it helpful when you take on Sleepy and/or Lazeek.
I am hearing that mammagotjuice will be the area's first woman head boys basketball coach. ;) Assistants will be Penny Hardaway and Walter Yates Sr., with consulting from Greg Wise of Houston Yates.
pretty formidable crew there :)
I'll bet you mammagotjuice would have the team working more on skills and strategy and less time lifting which would be a badly needed step in the right direction.
 10. Abe- I think you are exactly right.  I think many tend to get over enamored with individual talent and not sufficiently enamored with a teams ability to function as a team.  If I remember all of the talk on here in the last couple of days correctly, Nederland also had "no way" to stay with Humble.  Again, I think the skepticism works to Nederlands advantage.  Many also assume that if a team is from or near the "big city" then nobody can compete with them.  I guess we will find out soon and I have high hopes for Nederland to prove the naysayers wrong.
It's funny you say that because there were many an HJ fan back in 2008 stating the best team lost in the regional final to Silsbee. One was your son-in-law. ;)
I remember that - I also remember some of the Silsbee folks making that very same statement after the Jasper loss.  Is it safe to assume that you totally agree that the best teams are still playing?
HJ is having a great season, no doubt. THE top team in the area...come on! Silsbee beat them twice, Nederland, Central, and LC-M(?) also beat them. They are a solid team, but not better than Silsbee or Nederland (regardless the fact that Silsbee is already out-they beat them twice!)
Abe, you are probably right but I am betting  they are more improved over the past 3 weeks than anyone else in this area.
I'm NOT going to argue with that! After their win last night, I'm on board...Unlike AAW and Soulja NOT being on board w/Nederland. Come on guys...what's it going to take???
Everyone is pulling for Nederland, but they are still going to be underdogs the rest of the year.  Now that Cleveland and Silsbee are gone, HJ is actually a favorite to get to state.
Cleveland and Silsbee were the best b/c of an opinion though, right? Two weeks ago, we ALL thought Silsbee would b in the St Tourney, not HJ. Nederland is the underdog from here on out based on their lack of B-Ball success over the years (55+). The fact that Ball has 2 DI players who have verbally committed does not equate to a better team or a victory over Nederland-That's why they play the game. Nederland won't gain respect until they win state or have a long run of success IMO. I think everyone forgets this same Nederland team was 1 game away from playing Yates in the Reg Tourney last year, and they have not lost a game since early December.
Very much agree especially on the "two D-1 players not equating to a better TEAM"

 15. You are harming HJs chances.
 16. Are you going to make the drive to Huntsville and wear the Hawk Hootie outfit and support the HJ team as you promised?  I know that you are a man of your word(other than certain alleged debt obligations) and I just wanted to verify that you would be there.  I want to have my video camera ready.
 17.
This news is not that "breaking."
R u suggesting that there are some who already believed that a change was likely?
 18.
I for one never said THE top team in the area.  I said A top team in the area.  That is what dogs1218 said.  Fact of the matter is they have been A top team in the area.  It is not HJ's fault that besides silsbee and wos that the district is fairly weak.  HJ played the entire pre season without a HUGE piece to their puzzle in Greyson Sutherland.  Many argued all year long whether he made that big of a difference or not.  The last 3 games have proven that he makes a HUMONGOUS difference.  HJ is a top team in this area and has been all year.
Cool it, Sleepy.  That is arrogant and you have no right to believe that the team you follow can be good every year.  5 straight years to regional tournament ( oops, sorry for bringing in a little history) is no justification for believing what you believe - and NEVER think that just because something happened in the past that it has a chance of happening again.

 20. Am sure its not Joubert because there has not been a "press conference" in Kountze.
 21.
Nash keep the term "great" relative to basketball overall: region, state, various levels, not just your team, or their district. I respect your opinion, but you have to admit, good players can have great games.
My point is that the word "great" is a relative term.  Let me put it another way- I think that if Shawn Prudhomme is not great, then there are no great players for Cleveland.  The thing I find comforting relative to the loss of Gus is the fact that Prudhomme, Person, and Bosha will all be better players next year thereby cushioning, to some degree, the loss of Gus.  By the way, as a sophomore, Gus made about 10 times the mistakes made by Bosha as a  freshman.
 22. Its kind of interesting that after 3-a player of the year Ryan Donahoe left, it was the end.  What happened?  Jarvis Benard, another 3-a player of the year showed up.  Then, it was DEFINITELY the end.  But here comes Gus and he did such a great job the last couple of years.  Trying to figure out if it is just pure luck/coincidence or does somebody over at HJ know something that perhaps the rest of us dont?  Hmmmm
 23.
Perhaps I should have said they are one of the top PROGRAMS in the area if not THE top (program).  Hats off to the teams that have beaten them THIS year.  They are all some very good teams.  My point is that you can not say that HJ is not one of the elite programs in the area.....and this year, once again, one of the elite teams.
Dogs- I hope you are reading this
 24. I think there probably wont be another Gus.  But maybe, just maybe, that staff over at HJ is just smart enough to figure out what to do next.  I know that there was never ever going to be another Bob Cousy but I like what Rondo is doing for the Celtics.
