CLASH OF THE TITANS II Silsbee at HJ
stevenash replied to BADSANTA's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Right now it's a toss up. It's going to boil down to how well they match up or not. I think the enjoyment will be from watching how the coaches make adjustments during the game.
HJs problems in the fourth quarter were, in my mind, twofold. 1. Silsbees superior depth wore HJ down considerably and had much to do with HJ's lack of productivity in the fourth quarter 2. Having two starters in foul trouble(also possibly attributable to the tired factor) also made it difficult to be effective in the fourth quarter. If HJ can eliminate one of the two above and reduce the other, they have a reasonable chance at winning this game. -

Your kids name is Chris right? C'mon man! You did get my number maybe you forgot to hit SAVE!
LAZEEK did not have on a black warmup suit. He was in an HJ hoodie and shorts. I think you are referring to stevenash. He had the black warmup pants on and has a son named Chris.
That must have been a shock! [/quote ;D -

Also, I think their capable of being beaten by any team if they don't come to play.
Jasper is VERY tough to beat at home. Four teams competing for the top three spots...and it does look like it may be Diboll or Jasper that gets left out...but Hudson isn't safe yet by any means...and Diboll has Center at home this round. Diboll lost to Center at their place by about 8 but went to overtime on a neutral court. That game at Diboll should be a great one to watch. Its a really fun district this year and with the exception of one team very well balanced.
The Diboll/Huntington game tuesday will be huge for both teams. Huntington has to win and win friday at Jasper or they are toast.Should be a great atmosphere and a packed house tuesday.....I owe you a popcorn and a decafinated drink...lol
Will Gestapo play an integral part in this one?

I know for a fact that Little Dove is gonna be a special player. Hoping that his parents find some property in the HJ area soon!!!! ;D ;D ;D Hawks just too deep and more seasoned than the Horns. Great win for the Hawks after they started off the first 6 minutes of the game with 2 points!!!! :o :o :o
It was a pleasure and fun meeting some of the setxsports.com members (LAZEEK and stevenash). Thanks to all, who on this thread, gave HF some (a little) credit. As was stated we know some think we're just whining parents at HF but really we're just trying to get the most out of the talent we have here. And bullets - I wouldn't have thrown a dictionary at you :D. Round two starts Tuesday!
After an extended visit with HFMOM08 and mammagotjuice, I believe these two ladies know plenty about the game. -

Just admit it and I will let you off the hook!!!!
He told me he shot 69 New Years day -

"Shadow Puppets Live" doesn't play well on radio. Perhaps someday it will, but the worlds just not ready yet.
I promise I'll be nice to the HJ program as we battle you guys during the second round AND we will be able to exploit your weaknesses now. I'm sure Coach Richards will have a different game plan during the second half ;)
Always the diplomat. Another of the many reasons the Dove is a much sought after broadcast guest. I am hopeful I can convince him to attend the 3 pm tailigate party in the HJ parking lot. -
Tigervoice I think you are more bipolar than I am sir! My comment was my opinion. I know you announce the games and they pay you on a hourly rate so you have to be bias. I state opinions only. I hope Silsbee wins but they looked very weak in 3 out of their last 5 games. I do know one fact. You are a CRAZY fool!
Santa- Would you be willing to play golf against Tigersvoice, Lazeek, and Sleepy in a single match? -

You have to go out and try to force a turnover, a bad shot, etc. Worst case is Ned. scores or shoots free throws. You still have plenty of time to score yourself. Letting Ned. get the last shot was plain STUPID!!!!
If the PNG coach was "smart enough" to have a considerable underdog "in the game" in the last minute/seconds, would it stand to reason he is smart enough to handle the closing seconds of the same game?
If the Nederland coach wants to run out the clock and take the last shot and the PNG coach wants Nederland to keep it to the last shot, would it stand to reason that one of them could be wrong?
From my perspective. it stands to reason that those who coach for a living are likely to have better insight on what needs to be done than the fans do. I can tell you, after watching highlight films, about every pass that should have not been thrown in the football game. But, then again, I did not have several three hundred pound linemen charging at me while making my decisions which were not made after the fact. I am also confident that we, as spectators, do not know all of the ingredients than went into the decision the coach made. Furthermore, I maintain the coach apparently made many good decisions or the underdog would not have been in a postion to win the game. If that is the case, it would seem that second guessing only the last minute decision is slightly unfair.

And of course I'll do my normal "hype" during the week of the game ;)
Glad to hear that the Dove will be your special guest. ESPN is not going to like discovering they were outbid. Lazeek, this would be a perfect opportunity to also invite Mammagotjuice and briefly have the equivalent of Mike and Mike. -

AAW, might be able to shed some light on this subject!!!
Whom ever (is this correct Nash?) that get's him will have a jewel. The first thing the next level is going to teach him is to quit being SO UNSELFISH. D. C. gives up too much to his teamates on offense. His college coach is going to want him to get it in the hole!
I wouldn't have the slightest idea. ;D
In relation to the game of poker: "Nash folds after his bluff was called". ;D
The poker analogy is a little better, but I still feel as though it is improper to put out names on a board. Frankly, I am a little surprised someone with high moral standards would advocate such. As for bluffing, I guess you really never know until the cards are played. I know very little about poker but in the few games I have witnessed, it seems that if you have sufficient staying power(whether it be figuratively or literally), the need to bluff becomes less important.

There are some coaches that have ZER0 knowledge of the human body and how it will respond to workouts. Those coaches do not need to be involved in making and implementing workouts . And I whole heartedly believe lifting weights will not help a kid hit for better avg. But it can help hand speed. Get the kid a tee and get to work to improve batting avg.
Well you are the one that brought it up. "Bring it, don't sing it". ;D
The hackneyed little saying makes the effort a little better but I still don't like to mention names. You might want to abandon your efforts here. I have plenty of other posts you can jump on where I am willing to take the bait.
I find it kind of odd that Nederland has players from other sports playing beyond high school. I wonder if Coach English contacts any colleges about hsi players so they have an opportunity to extend their playing careers.
I think you will discover that the college recruiting system is sophisticated enough that it finds most of its players without the solicitation of their high school coach. As Nederland continues to gain a reputation for basketball, I would assume any player with the potential to advance to the next level will be noticed.
