Silsbee we be there hold the trophy again going back to Austin. HJ is well coached and so is Silsbee. Again Silsbee will go back to state while HJ listens to us on www.setxsports.com or go pay 400 for a room to watch the Tigers roll. Boooyaaa!
And the Vikings and Cowboys will dominate the current football season.
 2.
HJ doesn't have a player on their team that can match up 1 on 1 to Stallworth. Silsbee has 9 players that can get double figures in any game. A team that deep is hard to beat. If you can go to your bench and not lose a beat, that's hard to beat.
I cant comment on many matchups but will bet you a dollar to a donut right now, that the HJ point guard will be faster/quicker than his counterpart at Silsbee.  Not suggesting that it will make a big difference in the game, but it will make things easier for HJ to navigate the press.

 4.
High school basketball is all about matchups and there are some interesting ones between these 2 clubs. The biggest thing everyone is overlooking is Silsbee scores a ton of their points this year off turnovers and HJ isn't going to turn it over much. The Hawks developed a lot of depth while they had their injuries, this series is gonna be closer than most folks think.
I think ( and hope) you are correct in that statement.
Thats why they play the game.  You could have made the exact same argument when Silsbee played Jasper in the regional semis two years ago.  The Spurs and Bucks both recently beat the Lakers but neither team had someone to match up one on one with Kobe nor did they have the depth.  But somehow, it took place.  By the way, Silsbee may have 9 players who can get double figures but I doubt half that many will do so against HJ.

 7. Lazeek probably has a very good perspective on this question
 8.
HJ seems to have a better team than most people thought before seasons start. I hope Silsbee doesn't take them lightly.
I believe the entire Silsbee organization never takes HJ lightly or anyone else for that matter with the exception of Jasper in the regional semis in 2009.

 12.
There are bad coaches with State Championships and there are good coaches with no championships.  There are also good coaches without State Championships and good coaches with Championships. If you want to really know if a coach is good or not, you need alot of information into him.  The most telling is if a coach came into a program that was not winning and turned the program around and it is a lasting thing.  IMO
Well stated.
 13.

Dont say that BlueDove.  That is heresy. JK The best PG is not the one that fits his team best, that is a blanket statement that could be said about any PG.  The BEST PG should be able to go to any team at any time and be able to create offense and play defense.   Attributes IMO:  A GREAT PG should be a leader on the court and off.  To have the following he will need to have great footwork, balance, and hand eye coordination. He should be able to contribute on all facets of the offense and the defense, he should be a threat from outside and a threat to penetrate and score at the basket or kickout to spot up shooters.  He should be able to pass beyond anything else. He should see the game before it happens, some belive this can be trained some believe it is innate.  He should be able to control the tempo of the game.  He should be able to hit FT's.  A good PG should be able to do it all.  A great defender, a great rebounder.  He should be an extension of the coach on the floor.  He should have a very good assists/turnover ratio.  Look at the two best PG the game has ever seen IMO:  John Stockton and Steve Nash, one is the all time leader in assist and steals, and one has 2 MVPS to his credit as well as having the highest shooting percentage of any guard over his career.  See Brian McCormick for percentages of shooting.   Im ready.
Oh God!!!! Man, I was with you all the way UNTIL you brought in Nash and Stockton. Now we gotta hear from our own Stevie Nash. He'll probably want to throw in John Paxon (sp?) :D :D  But we are talking about high school point guards. ;)
Sorry Dove, but I have to go with Allen Iverson - not so much on his stats but his outstanding personal character/family values ( If Ron Artest and Dennis Rodman were point guards, it would have been a more difficult decision for me)
 14.
As I've said after seeing both teams play, H-J will  not beat Silsbee in either matchup this year...
Read my lips, no new taxes.

 16.
I agree that Coach English deserves to be on the list, but how can you even start the list without including some coaches with State titles?!?!? Sutherland and Joubert fit that bill.  And, though he doesn't have any state titles, Coach Williams does have what, 2 or 3 state appearances? C'mon, Man!
There are plenty of good coaches without state titles.

I hope we'll be completely healthy by the playoffs.  Could be another special year...
Didn't R. Donahoe start and do well as freshmen?
didnt play at HJ until sophomore year

 22. I thought you might find the following information interesting.  I heard this on an NBA broadcast today and then decided to first verify in the stats.  Rajon Rondo has the highest field goal percentage of any point guard in the NBA.  Steve Nash is second.  Rondo makes 5.1 of 11.2 attempts per game and Nash makes 6.2 for 11.8.  This is intended as friendly information and nothing more than that.  I would guess that you might respond by saying he makes only layups.  I would argue the point but, if that assertion is correct, this would suggest that when he wants to be, he is one of the better one on one players in the league.  He doesnt resort to one on one that often because finding teammates who are open is his forte as evidenced by the fact he is league leader in assists.( his assist to turnover ratio is 3.31 vs second place Nash at 2.9 to 1)  If the next suggestion is his assists are high because of his surrounding cast, I can only ask why Derrick Fisher is no where to be found in the top 40 in assists.
