I thought every town did, Huntington just had a few more than most.
More specific reference is when a uniformed officer informed a spectator(supporting the opposition, of course) in the Huntington Gym (HJ not involved) that they were yelling too loud for their team and would be removed (no profanities or language issues were involved) if they did not stop.

 8.
cLEVELAND gonna be in the hunt for awhile.
The Cleveland-HJ playoff game last year was a classic example of how much difference good coaching can make.  HJ was outmanned at every position but came out on top on the scoreboard.
Maybe we will get additional perspectives if they meet in the EC tourney
;) ;) ;) Played good last night!!!!!!!  Starting to get more aggressive and take it to the hoop also!!!!  Great night from the line for him as well!!!!! He also was the only  one who seemed to have hits wits about him for the entire game
11.
That suprises me.  I thought it would be a 20 point or better game.  Escpecially at HJ.  Hudson is suppossed to be very down this year.  How did they look?
Werent that impressive to look at.  Had one very strong left handed player who dominated the game offensively.  Scored inside, outside, just about wherever and whenever he wanted to.  Hjs top player shot about 15% for the night including missing three consecutive put backs at point blank range.  He did have a huge dunk, though, when game was very close.

I understand being a fan of your team and getting upset when somebody from another team talks down on yours, but understand where im coming from. Hardin Jefferson this year is NOT as good as the past. Im going to love reading the things yall will be posting about the HJ and Silsbee games. Only some home-cooking is going to be able to help you in that series. I dont see HJ playing too deep into the playoffs because, well, they arent as good as the past years. I can be wrong here and HJ goes on to win state and win district. But, from I have seen from that team, its highly unlikely.
dog! My MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Preach your wisdom and truth. Maybe we should make some friendly bets. If HJ make sa certain goal, then dog would have to wear a HJ shirt or something. And Nash a HF shirt...err Silsbee shirt ;D
Dove- just go ahead and get a shirt that say HJ- No Good-  I will wear it In Hamshire when lowly HJ plays the prospective 2012 State Champs
??? So maybe Nash was actually listening to me last night. Finally! :D
Absolutely/unequivocally
 14. HJ wins but game in doubt till final minute.  Unusual amount of turnovers and at least 15 missed two footers tonight  SETXslam, did you get phone pic I sent to you of a few of your friends including two 3-a MVPS?
You are sure right about that.  Getting to state is very unlikely for HJ this year.  And to hear you and several others, home cooking in HJ- Silsbee games would only enable the Hawks to lose by 30 instead of 40.  As for the history of almight HJ-  Once you make some history, I suspect you will be only too happy to discuss it as well.

 18. Beware speechless, you will now be declared as saying stuff to make you sound like you are right.(and, of course, certainly "nobody else" is guilty of that)  Additionally, just because the last time HJ lost to Nederland early but wound up in Austin, somehow doesnt matter because "someone" really knows his basketball and can tell, by watching a team once or "judging" personnel with one or two viewings, just what success or failure that team will have come springtime.  But then, of course, I could certainly not be" right" about this.

There ya go Stevie. Coach Richards and his team can make that third place finish this year. I'm sure he's got his guys focusing on that goal. It's realistic enough for them toget playoffs this season and go one deep. But its a start.
If you can just make sure that they lift on game day, I think they have a lock on the third spot.

I thought Silsbee might luck one in AFTER Galveston BALL gave them 2-3 chances to win AFTER BALL had the game wrapped up earlier. Ball would have won by 5 points if they had not made some very dumb mistakes. Unbecoming for a top ranked team. Ball underestimated Silsbee. Thats the only reason why it was so close.
Silsbee is for real. Thats why it was close. Ball was warming-up cocky too. I talked with one of Ball's assistant coaches, and all he kept telling me was they were going win by 20 or 30. I told him good luck with that  :D
dog1218, the game would be different a second time. Because Ball took them so lightly, Ball didn't play hard enough to beat them by 20. Happens all the time in competition. Highly ranked Tenn. Vols took a small school out of Michigan lightly and look what happened. Doesn't mean the small Michigan school is better overall, especially if they meet for a second time.
I know quite a few teams that would make that contention after playing Boise State in football.  However, the score is a pretty good indicator

 24.
Calls need to be consistent on both sides. You can't let one team be the more aggressive team and not call fouls, and the other team gets ticky tack calls.  I agree with not impending the dribbler, but watch for his away forearm/elbow as well on the defender.   Actually had a ref tell a player he could not play defense with his arms outstretched against a dribbler  (not touching the player) , they had to be up in the air.    SMH
Saw a ref call an offensive foul on a post man when he inbounded the ball and then slowly jogged up the court while his dribbling teammate used him as a moving screen by staying close to him.  Ref told the coach it created a disadvantage for the defender.  Coach responded by saying creating disadvantages was the definition of offense.
