I think it's both.
Perhaps true thinks that WOS will have a good team next year? I think you must, to some extent, "have a clue" in order to be spiteful.
In his prime, there was not a better center ever than Hakeem Olajuwon. He was unstoppable on both ends of the court.
Bill Russell best defensive center (undersized) to ever play the game. Nearly always embarrassed Wilt in the big games.

Congrats to the Lakers. For those of you who continue to believe Kobe Bryant is the only player on the court, I would say that tonight he had very little to do with the victory. Listening to Ron Artest speak at the end of the game, how articulate and impressive he was when he thanked his psychiatrist and those in his "hood" for making his performance possible. What a well spoken and thoughful player. Oh well, at least he didnt attack someone in the stands and did not try to promote a rap album.
If Kobe is truly the Messiah(as so many of you believe) why has he not already "taken over the game"?
I like Derek Fisher but he's a flop king
No doubt about it. Dont be surprised if the rules are changed in the near future and that "flopping" becomes a violation.
thats all part of the game if you can get the ref to give you a call by flopping than thats all part of the game if i dont express my opinon on the floor ill never get a look when i am actually being fouled and kobe is not arragont he just lets people know he is the best because he is....... there is no one better than kobe in the league right now
Correction: Kobe TRULY believes that every missed shot of his is because somebody did something that is illegal. Saw Rondo tip the ball from behind out of his hands twice as he went for a layup. Both were 100% clean with no contact and Bryant screamed, cried and held up his hands as though he had been unfairly assaulted when he should have been sprinting back to other end of court. For you to suggest that Kobe is not arrogant is less than enlightened. I cant stand it when , against the Suns, after making a critical basket, he ran down the court holding his arms out as if flying. Translation= I am wonderful, I am the greatest, and all of you should acknowledge it right now. The best way to prove you are the best is just play your game and not draw attention to yourself with the cries and moans.

I hate him I cant stand him. How many times did you see Jordan throw his hands up in the air crying to the refs when someone put a pinky finger on them? Its bullcrap if you ask me and I cant wait to see the Celtics celebrate on the Fakers home court!!
You must hate every current NBA superstar according to that logic
I'll never dispute the fact that Kobe is arguably the best player in the NBA (even though I can't I don't like...he comes across as a an arrogan jerk) and one of the top 5-10 all around players of all time.
Jordan wasn't an arrogant jerk?
But why doesn't he ever get a techn??? I've seen him do things with his body motions, attitude, and gripping at the refs that deserves a tech at some point. Maybe not a one certain instance but you start putting these things together and it's basically showing the ref's up. I bet if he would have done what Shed did in Game 4 I believe it was...could have been Game 3...he would not have gotten a tech.
Did you even watch the game? Serious question.
Whoa calm down there Nancy. I never brought up Jordan...but since you did...no i don't think he was an arrogant jerk. I'm not a Kobe fan...he is still one of the best players I have ever seen. The dude's awesome. My only question is...why doesn't he get tech's? Rasheed deserved his tech...it was showing up the ref's when you do that. But tell me...what's different than what he did and Kobe turning and saying something to the ref everytime he is stripped of the ball, drives and misses and no foul is called. Especially when you throw your hands at the ref like they don't know what they are talking about...if you didn't see any of these things...did you watch games 4 and 5? Serious question. The guys a great player but I don't see any difference in the things he has done throughout the series and what Rasheed did. In both cases, it's showing the ref's up and I think it deserves a tech...jmo.
Very strongly agree.
No I dont hate every NBA Superstar. Kobe is the worlds worse about whining and complaining when he dosent actually get a call. Did you watch game 5???? Everytime the Celtics strip the ball or steal it from him he's throwing his arms up in the air. Pathetic
strongly agree

That's why they don't key on him. That helps him compared to guys like Chris Paul who is all his team has. Also Bryant and Artest don't guard Rondo. Fisher does. And what little Bryant has guarded he has considerably slowed him down.
If Bryant had slowed him down, Lakers would be up 3-2 right now. Sorry, Bryant has not slowed him down considerably. As Rondo goes, so goes the Celtics. In these finals, he has played 40.8 minutes per game, shot 42.3% from the field, 33.3% from 3 pt range,27% from free throw line, 6.2 rebounds per game, 7.4 assists per game and 14.2 pts per game. Bryant obviously has average more points but has fewer rebounds, fewer assists, and Rondo is averaging close to half the per game turnovers of Bryant. Additionally, Bryants field goal percentage is virtually identical to that of Rondos.
I guess its a matter of how you interpret "slowed down". IN my opinion, the Celtics are leading this series because Rondo is achieving what he needs to achieve whether its Fisher trying to play tight man to man or whether its Kobe backing off about 6 to eight feet (some think its because he wants him to shoot, I think its because he cant match the quickness) No, in the few minutes Bryant has guarded Rondo he has been slowed. Fisher guards him most of the time. You were just saying how 2 great defenders in Artest in Bryant havent been able to slow him down, well they arent guarding him... but in the few minutes Bryant has guarded Rondo he has been slowed compared to when guarded by Fisher. Also has he really on shot 27% from the FT line? I know he isn't a great FT shooter but i didn't realize that bad.
It seems to be fashionable for everyone to worship Bryant and to find fault with whomever the opponent is and what they do. All I can tell you is that the game score suggests that Boston is every bit as good as LA. ( we will know that for sure by Thursday night at the latest)Boston has also achieved this with their starting five experiencing considerably more foul problems than the Laker starters.
I still think Rondo is helped by the fact he is the 3rd or 4th option on the floor. Defenses don't key on him much. Still though I think he has turned himself into a top 5 PG in the NBA and he is finally starting to get credit. With that said I hope he costs them the next 2 games ;D
If the defenses keyed on him, the rest of the team would have a field day. Speaking of not keying on him, Kobe Bryant was first team all NBA defense and Ron Artest was brought to LA because he is a "defensive specialist". That hasn't had much effect on Mr. Rondo.
I started this same thread a few months ago and nobody agreed with me that he's better than all of them I think the only one you could argue would be Nash and I'd still take Rondo
Nash a better outside shooter but cannot compare to Rondo in quickness, rebounding, and, most of all, defensively. I am still in disbelief to see him jump over Kobe Bryant from behind without fouling him and tipping the ball in the basket. Bryant turned around afterward and was in total shock.

Talked to a friend who told me about a spirited discussion of this topic on another board. I thought it might be interesting to get various views about Rondo and where he stands among the upper echelon of guards in the NBA. I, for one, think he is very under rated. Seems like Deron Williams, Tony Parker, Jason Kidd, me ;D,and Chris Paul all get a lot more credit than Rondo does. Yet, guess who is still playing and guess who is most responsible for the fact that his team is still playing?
The refs are sucking it up in the fourth quarter. If boston wins this one, they might as well rest there starters for game 6 because there is no way the refs will give them a chance to win.
I hope someone besides me watched Rondo jump over Kobe(who had inside position) and tip it in . -
I'm going with the celtics because bryant is arrogant, gasol has no chin, artest is an idiot, odom always looks high, bynum is a pud, and walton and the european dude are gay together. Also, because farmar is a douche.
I like your observations!!! -

Lebron is so far from top 5 right now...Kobe is better than Lebron and neither are top 5...you can't seriously think Kobe is as good as Wilt Chamberlain
Well, it seems to me that your have to define what your are comparing. Question: What could Wilt do? Answer: Score in the paint. That and rebounding doesn't make him a top 5 choice for me. Question: What can Kobe do? Answer: He can handle the ball; he can shoot the 3; he can drive and score; he can set-up and dish; and he can shoot free throws. Agreed, if I were picking my ideal team, I'd have a big man - but it wouldn't be Wilt. And my ideal team would have a spot for Kobe. Besides that, Bucof2010, you're too young to know much about Wilt except for some film clips that you have seen. :-*
Also, if you look back over the years in the big games and the championships, Wilt was always outplayed and outhustled by a less talented but far more determined Bill Russell who was also several inches shorter.
Nope. Keep me posted though...Scalabrini? Lmao
My point exactly. it will make NO DIFFERENCE at all EXCEPT in the mind of Scalabrini and his buddy. The Celtics are much bigger than any one player and that is true for most teams at all levels. -
How the Celtics are about to get what they deserve? Brian Scalabrini has a friend/advisor who told him that he is not playing enough and that he is better than a couple of the starters in Boston. That same friend had the New Jersey Nets coach call him and ask him to play for the Nets.(even though that is VERY illegal) He walked into the Celtics front office yesterday and requested his transfer papers and is headed to New Jersey. Looks like the end to the success of Boston. Shame on Doc Rivers for not helping Scalabrini find more playing time or playing opportunities elsewhere. Watch for a press conference regarding this issue on ESPN where it will be revealed that Scalabrinis friend/advisor lives in the same neighborhood as the New Jersey Nets general manager.
