1. For everyone who keeps bringing up that Lamar is a new team, you have to remember that Woodard was hired in 2008, right? He signed some players last year who didn't get to play, so they should have been in the weight room getting ready and bulking up. A good chunk of the players are transfers who have college experience at some level past high school. I just think it shows that the coaching staff isn't able to coach at a D-I level, successfully. They have taken this team and have really beaten NAIA schools.
 2. I think it's going to be pretty close. After a narrow lost to Georgia State, I think Lamar will have a lot of momentum playing at home. However, South Dakota is a good team. They've played a lot of formerly ranked opponents and tough rivalry games. I wouldn't look past too many of their losses since they were against the ranked teams. I'm going to say that Lamar loses in a heartbreaker by a FG at the end: South Dakota 24 Lamar 21
 3.
After scoring only 19 points total the last 5 games it was nice seeing the offense scoring again.  Even though Georgia State has a better record than Lamar, they've played an easier schedule and they are about even with Lamar.  Prewitt is the 3rd string quarterback, and a walk-on freshman to boot, so scoring 17 points and almost winning on the road is a step in the right direction.
Well, in all honesty, the defense scored one of them, so the offense really only got 10 points. But like you said, they were clicking for most of the game. I did hear one thing that sounded deadly. I want to say it was during the 3rd Quarter, the broadcasters were saying that Prewitt just "threw one up for J.J." and all I could think about was "No, no, please don't be like Bevil."
Seriously, I wish you would get off the board.  You are an idiot and you are on here just to dog LU.
I wish Sam would win a National Championship, so I guess it looks like neither of us are getting our wish this year.

I still think Lamar comes up short. Something like GSU winning 21-17.
Raiders99LHS80, can I get some karma from you since I pretty much nailed the score?  ;D Wasn't the final score 23-17?
I wasn't too far off, I had 28-14. It was definitely a good game to listen to. Wish I could have watched it. Prewitt sounded like he was playing really well.
 6.
LU goes up then goes into the we quit mode.
I don't think I would call it quit mode. Granted, I'm only listening in, but it just sounds like they're tired. Poor conditioning maybe, but it definitely doesn't sound like they've quit.
 7.
Then LU let them drive down for a score.
I played defense in high school, and I can tell you that one of the most tiring things is being on the field for defense, running back and TD and then having to play defense AGAIN! It's tough GA State gets an interception
 8. The question here is, how is the team going to respond after having a blocked punt and getting scored on shortly after. This will be the turning point in the game. GSU has the momentum now, and Lamar needs to capitalize on this opportunity if they don't want it to turn into a slaughter.

It doesn't say how bad the bruise is.
I don't want to EVER see him on the field bruised hand or not. I don't want him playing at all.
I agree with you there. Maybe they should consider moving him to wide out if he's such a great athlete.

Then a year or two to gather all the data.
Six years, I thought...
And if you add those Terror 4-5 plus 1-2 = 5-7 years =)
 13. As I posted on Katfans and Lumberjackfans: Lamar @ Georgia State I've said it before, and I'll say it again, until Lamar can get a running game and a QB that doesn't make poor choices, they'll lose handily. Georgia State hasn't been super impressive, but they did keep it close iwht S. Alabama on the road, and S. Alabama handed Lamar another loss. Lucky for GS, Lamar must travel to them. Georgia State As I posted on another thread here: They lost a lot of early games, but they did keep it interesting with South Alabama, only losing 39-34 and it was in Alabama. Lamar has the unfortunate opportunity to play in the Georgia Dome. I do see Lamar keeping it interesting, but I'm going to have to go with the trend and say that Lamar loses this one too. GaSt 28 Lamar 14

 15. It's really hard to compare the programs so far this season. The only difference is that Ga State has had a few more wins. Past that, they're not against great teams. I do feel bad for them having to play Alabama after you guys.

 17.
These rankings are very similar to last year's season ending RPIs.
It's probably the easiest way to rank them. I doubt the people at RTC actually know a little about all 300+ teams.
 18. How new is this team? I know the SHSU team is only a few years old.

 22.
Make up your mind...do you support your team when they lose or don't you? For me it is easy.  I have no problem saying they stink IF they stink.  However, not supporting them definitely won't help them get better.  So, always support them and always attend the games if possible.
Like I've said before, there's a difference between supporting the school/team and supporting the product on the field.
 23.
Thanks as this must mean our athletes in other sports are doing very well.
I think that's usually the case. I think the golf programs, track, soccer, etc usually bring up the averages up basketball, football, and baseball
 24.
How much eligibilty will DH have left if he signs with LU.  He played against Fla while at Tulsa.
Tulsa hasn't played Florida in the past 4 or 5 years. I've searched on Tulsa site, and it doesn't have him recording any stats in any of their games. From Tulsa boards, I don't think he was ever eligible. He played 2 years at Navarro, and never played for A&M, so he should have 2 years of eligibility left.
 25.
Until we do the following, we can't expect to win on the road. Turnovers, as it kills drives, gives the other teams offense more opportunities. TO's cause the coaching staff to lose confidence in the person turning the ball over; be it passing or by fumble. Establishing a running game offensively. Need to average a least 4 yards per carry as it helps with clock management. Keeps the defense off the field. 3rd down on offense and defense is extremely important. Offensively, we have to keep the down and distance manageable and convert on 3rd down situations. Defensively, we need to make them one dementionable preferably stopping the run and making them pass the ball. Keep them in 3rd and long situations and make them punt the ball. Would be great if the defense caused a couple of TO's. Defensively as a unit we have to tackle better. Then special teams we have to play better and not just the kicker. We have to play smart and not have penalties that keep their drives alive. We have to protect the punter and kicker with good blocking up front to prevent a blocked extra point, FG or punt. The coaching staff has to have confidence that the kicker can up points on the board once Lamar gets into the red-zone. We can't get into the 20 yard line and not come away with points. Obviously, Lamar would prefer a TD but they have to at least nail a FG and come away with points. Then I hope the special teams coach does away with the pooch kicks and attempts to kick the ball insider the 10. It is hard for me to believe a college player can't kick the ball deeper than we have this season. The above issue with special teams leads to the other team having great field position and only needing 20-30 yards to be within scoring position.
That's the most honest, non-dramatic post I've seen on this board all season.
