The NCAA, however, delivered a puzzling ruling that Lamar didn’t have enough players on scholarship after two years to count as a legitimate game for TCU. What baffles LU coach Ray Woodard is that Georgia State had the same number of players on scholarship (57) after two years as Lamar and is being allowed to count on Houston’s 2011 schedule
[Hidden Content]
The NCAa loves Ga State for some reason. They've gotten a ton more Pub as a start up program than LU. ESPN the Mag cover, Sportscenter specials, etc... LU hasn't gotten any of that kinda love. The NCAA would look bad if they let them get all this pub and then won't let them play an FBS school.
That sounds like the media loving them, not necessarily Georgia State. Didn't the two teams take different roads as far as "second year" programs? If I'm not mistaken, y'all came in as FCS independents, while they came in as FCS transitional (??) So maybe they mean 2nd year of FULL FCS status.
 2. Game over Runners nab on, Lamar loses it's 4th in a row: 70-64 UTSA
 3. I guess I'll post it since I know it: About a minute left in the half UTSA ahead 30-25
 4.
Did you see his position ranking of 17 in the nation? [Hidden Content]
No. 153 in the nation 18 in the State
 5.
LUser
Finally, more people are agreeing with me  ;D ;D I kid, I kid... but really, UTSA is beatable. For that matter, everyone in the league is.
 6.
it's SFA...whoo gives a rat's rump GO LU
You will win you play them again. Hopefully things are better for both our teams next year against them.
 7.

Actually ECBucFAn, there is a good chance we will only be playing them for a year...
And I hope LU does well. My support for SFA does not mean I am anti-LU. Far from it. I pull for SFA, and then LU and McNeese except when they are matched against SFA. If LU does go WAC, I'll pull for them every game!   :) The days of SFA "passing only" have passed!  ;D
It all makes sense now. Are you a new fan or were you rooting for the air attack during their 0-11 campaign? They've been throwing the rock for a few years now. They may run the ball more next year, but I doubt that it'll be balanced. I still project them near the bottom in the running game.
 8. We'll see by next fall. Either way, he looks like a great pick-up. Highly rated out of HS and played great at the JuCo level.
 9. Looks like Forney signed his NLI for Lamar:
Played three seasons of varsity football at Nederland High School ... Passed for 823 yards and five touchdowns as a senior and 941 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior ... Picked up 206 rushing yards as a senior ... In addition to playing quarterback, also played tight end and defensive end... Named District 20-4A Player of the Year in basketball as a junior ... Was named District 22-4A Newcomer of the Year in basketball as a freshman.
11.

It made sense because SFA is FAR from a running team.
That has been true, as long as Jeremy Moses was at QB, but things are about to change. I posted the following in the FB forum: SFA: Near perfect fit. SFA is transitioning to more of a running style with the departure of All-Everything Peyton Award Winner QB Jeremy Moses. Attaway will still sling it, but a more balanced attack with rushing will be used. Whole talented O-line comes back (only allowed 11 sacks during all of last season, and SFA passed most every play!), and SFA will win immediately. Program ranked #9 nationally. Also, Nac is nearly as close to Kirbyville as Beaumont is.
How can you claim their transitioning to a running team when they have half a dozen QBs on there team, as well as about a 15 WRs. I don't see them transitioning at all, they've done nothing to indicate that they'll switch to more of a balanced ground game. Their new offensive coordinator is from West Texas A&M and runs basically a mirror offense to their last guy. Those offensive lineman are NOT run blocking lineman, like you just said, they are pass blockers. Also, Nac is twice as far away as Beaumont.
 12.
He's 6-5, 345 lbs.  Originally signed with USC.  Played at Navarro and had given a verbal to UH.  3 star player, big pickup for Lamar! [Hidden Content]
Holy crap. That's almost too big.
 13.
What is not specific about not giving up yet????? :D :D :D
Well I guess you'll all find out for sure in the next 24 hours.
 14. 100 miles from Nacogdoches, 50 from Kirbyville. I guess he just preferred the woods more. I really expected him to be a Cardinal. It made sense because SFA is FAR from a running team.
 15.
[Hidden Content] Commited to SFA
Ouch. What happened to the "inside sources?"
 16.
[Hidden Content]
I've always liked the two-team style spring games. It should be interesting to see how they split up the teams. I know there was one year for Sam where one team was obviously heavy on the offense and the other on defense. Hopefully it's an even split to make the game more entertaining.

 19.
JJWooten.  I am not sure what you are talking about as far as students not staying on campus during the weekend.  I played golf at Lamar fairly recently and ALL of the athletes stay on campus every weekend.  And as most others school are athletes all hang out with other athletes.  There are fraternity parties nearly every weekend.  Many of the others students live within 20 miles of campus so all of the students go out in the same places.  So while you think you know what happens at Lamar..............I hate to burst your bubble but you don't!
Wasn't talking about the athletes, I was talking about the student population in general.
 20.
More importantly SELA is 3-0 at home and 0-3 on the road!!!!!!!
TAMU-CC hadn't won a road game all year and then beat SFA in Nacogdoches in front of a packed crowd
He's just angry Sam is one of the worst schools in the state. The best thing about that place is that prisoners are locked up there.
As opposed to the STD infested prisoners located about 5 miles away from Lamar? Hi pot, I'm kettle.
 22. Both teams are 3-3 in conference so far Lamar has wins against: @UCA, @UTA, UCA Losses against: MSU, NWU, @NSU SELA has beaten SFA, MSU, NWU Lost to @TAMU-CC, @NSU, @UCA Just by common opponents, SELA has beaten 2 teams Lamar has lost team, but they did lose to UCA.
