1. I'm wondering how soon the winds will simmer down after the front passes.  I'd like to fish Thursday  evening after work.
2. Oh man I am ready to catch some fish...latest from Texas Marine is that my boat should be ready by Wednesday....sigh
3. Not a fan of Talapia....Flounder is the way to go...Fried, grilled, or stuffed---- its good
4. I've known and worked with Coach DuBois for over ten years.  He's a good man and a great coach...HJ is getting a good one...Good Luck HJ and Coach DuBois
5. Did anyone get any fishing in this weekend?  I'm still waiting to get my boat back from Texas Marine, so I have to live vicariously through other fishermen right now.
6. First Tournament is next Thursday Apr. 4
7. Busted lower unit...no bueno :( :( :(
8. Redfish Jackpot Series Team Tournaments = $50 Entry At Ancelet's Marina Every Thursday 5:30 pm till 8:15 Pm BOAT LAUNCH FEE HAS BEEN WAIVED !!!!!!
9. Great tournament, I think the winning team had about 26 lbs in their Texas Slam (two trout, two flounder, two reds)  I walked away with a $50 gift card to Daley's as a door prize. On the flip side, we struggled to catch any fish.  To top it off, my engine ran into trouble.  It started making a loud tapping sound.  Checked the oil and all gauges were fine.  It sounded like it was coming from the flywheel on top of the motor.  Its a Yamaha, 90hp four stroke. Does anyone know what this could be or how serious?  Its only a year old so its under warranty.  Bringing it to Texas Marine Monday.  Hope they get me back on the water pretty soon.
10. They had a pre-tournament meeting tonight at Ancelet's, but you can register at Ancelet's Saturday morning starting at 4:30.  I think you have to be registered by about 6:45 that morning.
11. The Triangle Tailchasers are having their first tournament of the year on Sabine Lake this Saturday March 23. $20 membership fee and $100 tournament team entry... More info at www.triangletailchasers.com
12. I would love to see a map of the area covered by the pros this week.
13.
Some tuff luck for 6 anglers on day 1.Heard 6 boats lost lower units early.Probably causing 1/2 of the 13 w/o a fish.
I can see that..you really have to know what you are up against  around here.  Lots of areas where you can leave the ship channel and be in 1-2 ft of water in no time.  Not to mention all the logs in the creeks, bayous, and rivers.
14. If the winds cooperate I will be on the water Thursday and Saturday...hungry for some flounder
15.
FYI.  I have a friend who killed the flounder fishing the Louisiana shoreline Saturday.  Using mud minnows in the bayous north of blue buck.
Thanks, I plan to try my luck Thursday if the winds cooperate.  Has anyone been doing any good on the North end of the lake?
16. Thanks guys... I found out the hardway around Stewt's Island and the area near the causeway, churned up a little mud at both places...both areas are very deceiving
17. The Louisiana shoreline on the lake scares me a little because I'm not familiar with it, and the map shows a lot of shallow water... I assume this is where I always read about the guides doing the wade fishieang... I just got my bay boat last year, so I'm very new to this.  My last boat was an small alluminum boat, and I pretty much stuck to the rivers and Keith Lake.  I'm trying to learn the ins and outs of Sabine Lake, so I really appreciate all the tips guys...Thanks
18.
[img][Hidden Content]]
Nice catch....did you catch them this weekend? in the lake or ship channel?
19. Congrats Montana...Great athlete, great competitor, and a great person
20. I plan to get the La license, but some of my partners may not.  Am I correct that we can fish La shoreline as long as we don't cross into any bayous or inlets on that side?
21. Thanks
22. Ok, its a new year and I'm ready to catch some fish.  I have a question.  There is an island south of the causeway that is in the middle of the channel.  I've never fished it, but the map shows some good reef fishing around this island in the early Spring and later.  I want to be sure that I only need a Texas license to fish here.  Are any of you familiar with this area?
23. Vidor recently installed new lights and track.
24. I haven't been since all the rain started... read Colburn's report yesterday, he said it was pretty bad Thurs. and Fri...no bait in the water=tough day finding fish
