What type and size hooks do you prefer for live shrimp? Finger Mullett? Shad? This is always a source of debate with my fishing partners, and I wanted to see what some of you use.
SC BEATS ANGLETON & NEDERLAND ALL DAY LONG. If we had your opening opponents, we'd still be playing. Angleton played a 6-4 team yesterday. Nederland been on borrowed time since d Vidor game.
Could've, would've, should've....lol...I''m sure Ned and Angleton are really worried about a team that is sitting at home with the rest of the beaten teams.
I have to be honest... I can't wipe this big smile off my face!!! Most SC posters were some of the most obnoxious fans I've experienced on here. Hey SC this one is for you...NA NA NA, NA NA NA NA, HEY HEY HEY GOOOOOODBYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well we launched at the marina on Pleasure Island this morning and got blown off the lake. Trailered over to Bridge City and launched at Cow Bayou and had a pretty good day. Caught a mixed bag of reds, specks, flounder, whiting, sandtrout, and sheephead. Big Red went 29" ...Big Speck went 23"... and Big Flounder went 20" ... a little wind blown, but had a lot of fun
TVC, lol...I hear ya. That La. license is looking more and more like the way to go. Mat, I have hit the outfall a few times over the last few days without any luck. I saw one guy boat a nice red there yesterday, but that is about it. Monday a guy hooked on to something that I am guessing was a big drum or gar. It pulled him and his jonboat out into the middle of the river. I left before he landed it, but it was quite a site.
The birds were working in Cow Bayou again today. Only brought home eight trout, but I bet I threw back another 20 that were 14"...a lot of fun today and beautiful weather.
There are still a couple weeks of decent fishing left. Try going out to Pleasure Island. The North Levee Road is usually good for a few flounder and specks this time of year.
Went out of Cow Bayou this morning and ran into a flock of birds at daylight. Hooked up with a fish just about every cast for 30 minutes and everything was undersized. Picked up a couple trout that were just big enough. Couldn't find anymore birds after that. Plenty of shad in the water.
Thanks TVC, was thinking of trying the South End tomorrow but hate to drive all the way down there if the bite has slowed down...May just try to grind out a few reds on the North End.
Good luck to all the teams still going at it. I pray for the safety of all the players and other student groups participating. I hope for some good hard hitting, intense football....Go Pirartes!
I have never been much of a Lumberton fan, but I have to say that when they were down against Vidor those Raiders fought to the final whistle. It was actually quite impressive to see how much fight those boys had in them. Vidor has certainly had its share of tough seasons, so I really admire true fans like Raidergirl92 that is there for her team through good times and bad.
Vidor has some very big shoes to fill when we lose this Sr. class. Obviously starting with Quirante and most of our defense. The Freshman group sounds like they are pretty solid, so hopefully we will continue to be relevant in the playoff picture.
