My bad. Players take care of it ::) Anyways it looks like Texas high has got a defense that is returning with some speed but with our last scrimmage we faced a pretty good defense with some speed also, yet we had a running back, David Bolinger, who had 158 yards with 8 carries averaging 19.75 yards a carry and IMO those stats speak for itself. I think that will be the edge in the game. But we also have to work on holding on to the ball and working on our passing as well. But overall i think the Pirates will sail over the Tigers this year with flying colors ;D
While we are working on that. Something the coaches can fix is the stupid personnal foul penalties that keep happening. Those are just dumb , undisipline football and drive killers.
Fortunately the 2 personal foul penalties didn't hurt the Pirates in the scrimmage since the Refs. weren't marking off the yardage, but yea those type of penalties are inexcusable. The individual that committed those fouls will not make that same mistake again believe me because I'm the official sanctioning agent over that young man! ;)
NICE!!! lol

Hey! The sleds are off the practice field and are untouched. The closest anyone has come to them has been someone looking for shade under the same tree they are under. Not being used, not on the field. May be Coach can start a new strength and conditioning camp for people that want to jump to conclusions, stretch the truth and pull their panties out of a wad.
im starting to like this guy!
I in all sincerity think that ole Country Boy is accomplishing his mission..He's getting attention..Well I have no more fuel to add to his fire ...If you want a fire to go out, remove the fuel.. ;)
I agree Kats...everyone is letting this guy/gal get way too much mileage out of this.
OTB and my latest trip to the ship channel. Three of us caught 30 specks with the largest at 20.5". Most were in the 16"-18" range. This was just the 20 that OTB and I caught. [IMG][Hidden Content]]
Nice!!!

Yeah I'm thinking a 22 footer is about what I'm looking at, of course that would probably require a pretty perfect day to make it out to the rigs. Its probably the most practical size for my needs though.

I am in the very early stages of shopping for a boat. Initially my thoughts were that I just wanted one that I could stay around Sabine Lake and the Jetties on. Now I'm thinking that I'm interested in some offshore runs as well. What are your thoughts on models and sizes of boats that would meet these needs? Share any experiences (good or bad) you may have had with your own boat that may help me in my search.
Actually one of the kids did time near 4.3....Bollinger is very fast and I know his time is below a 4.4...but it doesnt matter. Every team that plays Vidor will stack the line of scrimmage, and 5 guys arent gonna block 8 guys consistantly. If you dont throw the football about 30-40% of the time then everybody creeps up to the line of scrimmage. Vidor has QB's that can throw the ball, they just dont have a coach that knows how to design throwing plays so that the pass protection is there. [/quote

Gave it a shot this morning, lots of bait in the water as usual but no bite. The water in the river is still pretty murky from the rain. Didn't really see anyone catching anything today.

Hitting the Dupont Outfall in the a.m. Hope to get on some reds...Has anyone been out there lately? This is my first time out there this summer.
-
Anyone do any good at the surf this summer. Years ago we would hit the surf at High Island about this time of year and kill the trout under the birds. I went two weeks ago and it wasn't quite ready, but the water was seaweed free.
-
I'm guessing one of the houses on the water at Sabine Lake down toward the causeway. Man there is some good night fishing off those docks. My brother-in-law got an invite to one and smoked the trout. I have fished from a boat just off the docks and didn't have much luck. I guess its a case of who you know. :)

Thanks guys, been out of the action for a while. My boat is ready

Just curious, was this a school day... If so, did your son hang out in the field house all day? or did he go to class
vhs ... Don't know you ... seem like a jack hole though .... my kid was just stating what he saw .... by the way, goes to every class, is an honor student in honor classes .... and a pretty dang good athlete whom Jasper will be seeing ... If jasper gets Alvarez, so be it ... don't talk down about a kid
Okay, step back from the ledge big fella...Nobody said anything negative about your son...Actually if you re-read my statement there was a little sarcasm there... I actually assumed that your son is a responsible student and was in class, therefore I would infer that there was no way he would know where Coach Alvarez was at all times during a school day...Take a breath its going to be okay....Good luck to your son in his academic and athletic pursuits, it sounds like you have a lot to be proud of -
