1. Don't much about BH beyond what I have read on this board, but I am surprised with PNG.  They have been solid all year long.  Tighten up Indians!
 2.

Man the stadium is fantastic.  Personnel at the location are great and should be an all out battle in a first class establishment.  Little Ponies from Dayton will go home with their heads hung low!
Actually... We could probably pull up our 7th grade Ponies to finish off the game, even then, Vidor still might not be able to score. Pirates being stampeded by Broncos won't be a pretty site.
Purple 4Ever, I have to say I'm a little surprised at some of your posts.  I have always thought of your post as some of the more unbiased and level headed posts.  Even your "Fearless" prediction for this game appeared totally biased.  I know that there has been a lot of smack talk on this thread from both sides, but I'm surprised by your reaction.  I guess you could be doing this all in fun, but you sure are leaving a much different impression than usual. Go Pirates!
 3.
Dayton      by a whole bunch.
We can always count on you for some good support from our fellow 20-4a fans.
 4. Thanks for stepping up big time daddy23. I know running the clock wasn't the ideal way for you to enjoy the game, but you sure helped us out in a huge way.  We really appreciate all you do for the program.
 5.
I am going against my own beliefs here about Karma, I try and never pull against another team that my team is not even playing. But after reading all the comments from some Vidor fans about PNG I say go Lions and make it ugly. I respect coach Mathews, the accomplishemnts of the players but as far as some fans I hope you never see the playoffs ever again! I have pulled for the Pirates in baseball, basket ball and even football in some games, but never again. I'll stick to rooting for Bunner at Lamar Baseball because he's a class act,but you fans I'm done!
ndn78,  I went over to the PNG/Central thread and as far as I can see there are 2-3 Vidor posters who seem to be stirring the pot.  How in the world can you justify bashing the entire Vidor fan base off of what 2-3 people have to say?  Your post seems pretty rediculous, surely you have more to go off of than the post of 2-3 people.  Surely you have not turned against an entire city because of these posters.  Surely you are a more rational person than that. There are plenty of Vidor posters, myself included, that have given PNG nothing but respect since the beatdown the Pirates received from the Indians.  You are correct with one statement, Bunner is a class act.
 6. This will no doubt be a great game.  PNG has proven they can consistently execute their gameplan from both sides of the ball.  Central is a powerful team that can put up big numbers and are very clutch (ex.  goal line stance in double overtime against Vidor).  However, Central showed last week that they can be shut down.  If I had to pick a game that I would be at if my Pirates were not fighting for their playoff lives, PNG/Central is without a doubt where I would be.  This one is too close for me to call.  Good luck to both teams. p.s.  To all the PNG fans, please don't judge all Vidor fans by the 2-3 rediculous Vidor posters on this thread.  I gained nothing but respect for the Indians after the whipping they put on the Pirates.  Very solid team!
 7.
Wow! I completely forgot about that. Age is getting to me (ha). Nederland won 21-9 (I think) in 2000. I remember now. Sorry about that.
No harm, no foul! you were only off by 20 years.
 8.

The Vidor Pirates roll into Nederland tonight with a playoff birth at stake! The Pirates havent been in the postseason in 9 seasons and tonight that streak can end with a win. Nederland is still hanging around and still has a chance at the fourth playoff spot. We kick things off tonight at straight up 7:00PM with the pregame show. Kickoff is at 7:30 right here on setxsports.com!! [Hidden Content]=                                             VIDOR IN THE BEGINNING WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE TEAM TO BEAT. WELL, THEIR SEASON WILL BE OVER THIS COMING FRIDAY NIGHT. I GUESS VIDOR WILL BE SITTING AT HOME THIS POST SEASON AND MANY MORE TO COME.
Wow, another classy post-game trashing of Vidor.   Keep showing off all that class buddy.  Your team won, congratulations.
 9.
The way i see it .. Nederland don't have one of the worst teams they've had in years ..We have had alot of bad luck this year with injuries. Tonight Vidor came to town and gave us a hard fought game and played their hearts out and so did Nederland, we just came out ontop tonight. I know that Vidor always wants to give us a great game and play at their highest level. I don't think they need to be trashed on here just because they played a hard fought game and lost. I think Coach Mathews is doing a fine job over there and i wish them success next week and make it to the playoffs. Good Luck Pirates and keep your heads up.
Now that is class, thank your sir.  Best post on this thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 10.
I dont think there has been a game this year that vidor has lost where they just got beat. Its been the refs fault everytime. Theres no way the refs can be the reason EVERYTIME. Sometimes you just have to accept defeat.
Again congrats on the win,  I hate seeing all of these negative post take so much away from the battle we all got to witness tonight.   Please Ned fans feel free to continue the bashing.  It is so much classier than a couple of Vidor fans complaining.  I mean I just love reading post, after post, after post about how terrible our team is and how we were so overrated.   Please keep'em coming.
 11. Should be a good one.  Did I hear that Lumberton has become pretty bare on the O-line?  If that is true, it could be the difference. Ned.  is playing pretty well right now.
 12.
Hahahaha... Nederland has the worst team they've had in years and Vidor still can't beat them.  The "big rivalry".... hahahaha.  The Vidor fans will slowly go the way of the Lumberton fans.  See ya'll in about 10 more years when you think you have a good team again.
dmanspaddge - All class sir,  all class!!! Congrats to Ned.  on a hard fought win.  Pirates, hold your heads up high and punch your ticket next week.
 13. I agree, the conditions will play a big hand in this game.  This should be a battle.  Go Pirates.
 14. I don't know that Vidor really has a true rival, but I do know that there are three games that most Vidor fans look forward to each year;  Central, Lumberton, and Nederland.   Central because the Pirates generally play a very tough/ close game with them (and lose more often than not) When the game is over there is usually no question that both teams left it all on the field Lumberton Although the Pirates have a pretty sizeable winning percentage (15 matchups  11 wins for Vidor)  Vidor/ Lumberton is usually a pretty good game. Nederland because they have been a consistent winner and our boys always seem to play'em pretty tough (but like with Central we usually fall short)  Again, Nederland has an overwhelming winning percentage over Vidor, but in most years this is a very exciting game.   Anyway, I can't wait for Friday to get here.  I love that the Pirates are having a great year, and I'm glad that Ned is back in the hunt for the playoffs (this only adds to the excitement).  This should be playoff atmosphere football. I know guys like James Mosley are predicting a Ned blowout over Vidor, but this years version of the Pirates is a little different than most years.  These kids are big, tough, fast, and they play with a ton of heart.  I also realize some Vidor fans have posted some pretty outrageous predictions, but we have to remember the boys are playing in Nederland and the Dogs aren't going to just lay down and let the Pirates win an easy one on their turf.  Don't get me wrong I think Vidor is the superior team, but there are a lot of factors that will make this a very close game. Come on Friday night!!!!!!!!
 15. I see this being a high scoring game.  I'd say 70 pts between the two teams, with the winner taking it by 3.  Lumberton has lost all of its steam, but LCM's defense is suspect.
 16.
Jake, may come down to a fake punt in the kicking game, we are due. ;D This game comes down to the wire with the winner scoring on last possesion. Vidor will run the ball all over the Dogs but what usually hurts their drives is fumbles and penalties. Vidor's secondary is subject to the pass, if they try and man up again Dogs will have some big plays in this one. Linebackers watch the ball not the nut game. Senior night at the Doghouse makes it more interesting.
We have not had the fumbles this year that we had last year.  This should be a great game, can't wait.  Vidor by 10.
 17.
One thing that may help Nederland, is that Livingston runs a similar offense to Vidor.  The Nederland defense started to figure things out in the 2nd half.   Neumann should have them ready to go against Vidor.
LCM had that same thought, it didn't turn out quite so well for them.
 18.
Interesting.  The website stated that, at 7-0, "PNG clinches playoffs with a win". Then... it says, at at 6-1 "Central clinches playoffs with win".    If the part about Central is correct, then shouldn't it say that PNG "Has clenched playoffs"?
All that counts is the district wins both are 4-0
 19.
if lumberton wants to make up for all the mistakes, if they want to prove people wrong, if they really, really want the playoffs, then tomorrow night play convincing hard nose, mistake free football and beat png! is it that easy? well how bad do you really want it boys?
Excellent post wolfgang!!!
 20. By the way, since we are making excuses.  hey goodsport, what exactly is your excuse for the fumble on the 20yd line.  Please dont say bad luck because it was an obvious forced fumble.  And if we want to talk about the penalties, I would blame that on lack of discipline.
 21.

My outlook says it won't be good. But I will say this....if the Raiders don't make the playoff, there will be at least 1 maybe 2 teams going that won't last long....catch my drift.  The better team sometimes doesn't always win. But it is what it is.
lol,  and the excuses begin
What is your excuse. VHS should have never lost a game this year. They should have mopped up 20-4A with the experience that they had returning. If it wasn't for the penalties and a fumble on the 20yrd line Lumberton would have won that game. WE out ran, out passed vidor and out played vidor look at the stats. Sometimes its all about the luck.
okay, you beat us in every stat, except of course the most important one of all.  FINAL SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 23. I think the loss to Ozen will be pretty tough to overcome mentally for the Ltrain as they welcome the undefeated Indians. The PNG defense will continue its dominance of 20-4a. I say PNG by at least 14, and this might be a modest prediction. PNG is the real deal and the Ltrain seems to have lost its steam.
 24. you are absolutely right. we can throw but don't enough. We threw more against Nederland and had some success. I agree, I know the PNG game is still fresh on my mind, but they absolutely dominated Vidor last night. The Indians have a balanced attack and move the ball pretty well through the air and on the ground. PNG defense has completely shut down two very explosive running games in Livingston and Vidor. I think its pretty safe to say they are strong against the run. That being said, Vidor did have some success the few times they passed the ball. PNG/ Central should be a great game, but like the others have said Central will have to air it out more. Right now I have to lean towards PNG. I really wish I could see this game in person, should be a real battle.
 25. Huge win for Ozen, I did not see this one coming. Congrats Panthers.
