  1. Anyone have the inside scoop??? Has a decision been made?
  2. I agree 100%, he is a total class act. He is very true to his values, and he knows football.
  3. That is awesome, Vidor plays PNG on their homecoming. I was already looking forward to seeing the new stadium, but the homecoming should add to the atmosphere.
  4. Vidor has selected their two teams.
  5. LCM puts on a great camp every year around the first of June. Usually about 60 bucks for 3 day camp. My kid has been for the last 3yrs and loves it. They usually bring in some of their former players that are in college ball now. GREAT CAMP!!!
  6. Congrats to the Astros and their coaches!
  7. Just got word that the Angels won. Those kids are tough, and definitely well deserving of the championship. Congratulations to the Cubs on a great run at the title, yall played strong throughout the tourney. All the Vidor teams made us proud this week, we faced tough competition all around and were able to put a few wins together. I would also like to send a big thanks to the crew at PA. Yall ran an awesome tournament.
  8. Vidor goes to the coach with the best record
  9. The Astros squeaked out another win in a very close 16-15 game with the Indians. The Indians have really come a long way and gave us all we wanted tonight. Great game guys. Wed. Semi final matchups 6:00 Rangers vs. Cubs 7:30 Astros vs. Angels There should be some exciting baseball tomorrow night. Good Luck to everyone.
  10. Congrats to the Cubs and Angels. The Vidor Astros were able to pull off a win in an unbelievably close game (19-18) with the TC Storm. Congrats to the Storm on a great game, and WOW can that that Kash kid hit the ball a mile. I hear the Vidor teams did well over at Groves today. I understand the Indians and Rangers won their games, and I'm not sure who won the game that had two Vidor teams playing each other. Thank you to the crew at Pt. Arthur for putting together an exciting environment for the kids. I really like the music and announcing. You guys are doing a great job.
  11. Good luck with that, they are STRONG!!!
  12. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish I could have been there. Listened to the last three innings. What a finish!
  13. I second daddy23 comments on the Vidor Angels. Its going to take a pretty darn good team to beat them. They have 4 kids who were members of the Pinto State All-Star team last year and one member of the Shetland State All-Star team from last year.
  14. The Cubs are doing well. Right now we are tied for second with them at 4-1-1, there only loss came to the first place team, the Angels, who are undefeated. We play the Angels this Saturday, so we still have that hill to climb. Daddy23, has a lot of people's number, that windmill arm of his over there on third is quite impressive. He gets my vote for the Hall of Fame of youth baseball third base coaches ;D. He and the other coaches for the Cubs have done a great job with their kids. BTW, thanks for the compliments for the kid that hit the HRs. He is a great kid, and he broke out of a major slump tonight with the homers.
  15. I coach the Pinto Astros in Vidor, and we had a lot of excitement at our game tonight against the Cubs. Darin Scott came up in the first inning and hit the left field foul pole somewhere near the top of the fence. The umpire did not get a good look and called it foul. We had runners on, so this was a huge call for us. He later admitted that he blew the call after learning from daddy23 and the other Cub coaches that it did hit the pole. In Darin's 2nd at bat he hit the foul pole again, but this time it hit the top of the pole above the fence. After consulting with the other umpire the Home Plate Ump ruled it a home run. In Darin's third at bat, he hit a no doubter that cleared the fence by long way. Great night for Darin with his two dingers. It was also a great game we tied 10-10, which makes the blown call in the first inning huge. The Cubs toughed it out, and kept us from scoring in the 6th. Then they scored a couple runs to tie it up. Darin made a spectacular defensive play to get the last out for us at 2nd.
  16. Man was it a COLD night to watch a baseball game. That North Wind was unbelievable.
  17. Such a tragic story, the family is in our prayers over here in Vidor.
  18. Yeah I've heard alot of good things about the Hicks kid but I have a hard time seeing Hester down at number 5. The kid has tools.
  19. Sounds like a great man, our prayer will be with his family.
  20. LMAO, good stuff
  21. Ha Ha, Rub it in > > > WOS definitely has it going on in youth football. When our peewee team played one the WOS teams I just could not believe how deep the talent was at that age. Pretty impressive. Lazeek, we have the same problems over here sometimes. Our big problem in recent years has been people breaking in to the concession stand at the Pinto field. It never ceases to amaze me how sorry some people in our society can be. Glad to hear Ike spared your fields.
