  1. Scooter you must be just trying to get under the BullPups fans skin. I don't know how Ned beating Vidor is an upset???? I thought Ned was some type of Offensive powerhouse that can hang 50pts on the NE Patriots.
  2. This is going to be a fun week on the forum. Hopefully Vidor fans will keep a quiet confidence through all the chatter. The last time the Bulldogs came to Vidor with a Big, Strong, Fast running back they were suppose to destroy us. And we all remember what happened, they got sent back to the dog pound with their tails between their legs. So I hope you Bulldogs talk it up all week long. My prediction is that come Friday night Vidor/Nederland fans are going to get their moneys worth in a great game in a great Friday night atmosphere, with the Pirates coming out on top in a very close game. Come on Friday!!!!
  3. Pee Wee WOS Blue 34 Vidor Gold 0 Wow, WOS is LOADED with talent. QB(#11 I think) hung about a 40 yd TD pass. Looked like he chunked it about 15-20 yds, the receiver ran a great route and nobody touched him. I was very impressed with all of their backs, lots of speed and athleticism. My little Gold team gave another great effort, we just can't seem to get things clicking. The kids never gave up, they fought hard, and had a great time.
  4. On the flip side, heres a happy thought for you, Vidor and Lumberton both making the playoffs ;D ;D ;D when has that EVER happened? I'm guessing never.
  5. On the flip side, heres a happy thought for you, Vidor and Lumberton both making the playoffs. Thats something thats never happened in one season ;D ;D ;D
  6. No doubt about it, next Friday will be a showdown at Pirate Stadium.
  7. You make some good points TD, especially when it comes to getting to see both your boys play together. That would be awesome. But, I'm not sure I like this rule for the overall good of League Ball. After coaching for a few years, I just haven't come across very many kids that are equipped to play up. At least not at the younger levels. There may be 1-2 a year that are ready for it, but not many. My concern is that a whole bunch of parents are going to think their littl "All Star" is too good for his own age group and they will want to move him up. If too much of this happens then you have a bit of a "watering down" effect on the older division. As a second year Pinto coach, I just really can't think of many 5-6 yr olds that can make the jump. There are probably a few, but they are very few. Its kind of like what has happened with Select Ball. I know several organizations still do it the right way, but many select teams are built with Mom and Dads checkbook and not Little Johnny's talent. Again, I feel like the competition has been watered down. Just my opinion, like I said you make some excellent points. I would love to see my boys play together but it will almost certainly not happen since they are 5 yrs apart. Well, unless of course they play for the Astros one day ;D ;D ;D. (hey a guy can dream can't he)
  8. This is better than the Presidential debates. ;D ;D ;D
  9. no you are not alone I am 100 percent with you on this one thanks i was like ??? this should be a slam dunk coaches should always listen to their players but they should not let the players run all over them either Does anyone know of any Coach who listens to their players in regards to game plan or playing time? yes, a lot of coaches listen to their players in regards to game plan now playing time, that's a sticky subject got an example of a successful coach that listens to kids on game plan???
  10. I'm starting to wonder what age group some of these posters are in.
  11. Over in Vidor I would have to say 1. Hester 2. Sims - Of the pitchers they have these two seem to have the tools and experience over the others. Losing Robicheau to graduation was a big loss in Pirate Land. I'm not really sure who else will be pitching, I've heard Bruce and Griffin's names thrown out there. Beyond that, I'm not sure. I'm really not very familiar with the staffs of the other teams in the area. I know PNG and Ozen both lost their big arms to graduation last year. Who will fill those shoes? I'm with you Admin., Spring cant get here fast enough. My oldest boy is just going to his second year of Coach Pitch (Pinto 8yr old), and I look forward to Spring baseball like kids look forward to Santa.
  12. 1-2 overall or 1-2 on each team?
  13. Just reading the word "baseball" makes me sleepy I don't think baseball makes you sleepy, by your avatar it may also cause the munchies. Thats funny right there, I don't care who you are. :D
  14. Wow, so you thought he was serious about the whole hands in the car doors thing. Wow, lighten up.
  15. Well said cardinals4life!!!! I've never seen Matt play, but he sounds like a pretty special ballplayer. Good Luck.
  16. I'm just trying to figure out if vpride is a parent or player, regardless they seem to be a little concerned over playing time. ;D I would hate for that 8 yr old to come in and take their spot. ;D ;D ;D
  17. Good Post LR1969 - You're right about the toss up for the four spots. I haven't seen any team that appears to be poised to walk away with the district title. Nederland obviously looked strong against PNG, but I don't think anyone is ready to crown them district champs. Bottom line is that after two weeks, all that is certain is there is still a whole lot of football to be played.
  18. Yeah, all their backs crouched behind the center and our defense never knew who had the ball. They also ran a hurry up offense that added to our troubles. We had a hard time getting our defense set pretty much the whole game. Like I said, they were very well coached and had us(coaches) scratching our heads most of the game.
  19. My advice to my fellow Vidor fans would be to let this thread die. We won a very hard fought game. The Ozen game is 4 days away. I think that is a much more important discussion. Just my opinion.
  20. Prayers and Best Wishes from Vidor
  21. Are we still hashing out the bad blood in Vidor from last year??? Look guys its simple, stop it with all the finger pointing. There was obviously a problem last year. One group went one way, while the other group chose to stay with VJFA. Everyone should be happy that your child has a place to participate in football. You only have one shot at enjoying watching your kid grow up so why don't everyone take a step back and remember why you choose to be involved in Youth Football/ Cheerleading. Is it to feed your own ego or is it to provide your child with a fun and safe atmosphere to participate in youth sports? If it is to feed your own ego than by all means please continue slinging mud, but please do it somewhere else. This thread was meant to discuss STJFL Week 2. Pee Wees Lumberton White 27? Vidor Gold 0 Lumberton White is very well coached and have a very "cool" offensive scheme(cool is the only word I could come up with, Ive never seen it before). It had us completely puzzled the entire game. We didn't show much, but our kids left the game with their heads up so I guess thats all that really matters. Congratulations to all the teams on a good week of football.
  22. I don't know, but where I come from 27 unanswered points is pretty dominant.
  23. God Bless you and your family.
