Since when does one district lose knock a team out of the playoffs? Ned lost three games last year (blown out by Dayton and Central, & a lose to the district bottom feeder). Ned started 0-2 in district and still made the Playoffs! Lumberton and Vidor started off 1-1 not to see another win. We will have to let the season play out... The first two weeks have left the district very cloudy! Lets see how this thing pans out over the next two weeks.... Then district front runners will start to make ground!

Corey - Compare the tax base in Vidor with the rest of the cities in our district and his salary will make more sense. You can also compare Administrator/principal salaries and Teacher salaries in Vidor with other districts. There is pretty big differences across the board.

A post on one of the other "Is Lumberton the Best team in the State or not" threads made a very valid point. Lumberton was 4-1 last year after playing the same five teams they have beaten this year. And, they finished at the bottom. I'm sure they will win more games this year, but in my opinion their season starts this Friday. Good Luck Lumberton! Win one for the underdogs.

It is important to note that Coach B has plenty of money coming in from the refineries. Towns like Vidor have a very low tax base and depend on boosters for alot of their money. There is a huge difference in the tax revenue.

Finish better than last place in district and then start looking for state. And by the way, I didn't say anything about Vidors prospects for this season.

Completing some passes every now and then sure would help Vidor open things up a little bit for those powerful backs. Hopefully things will start clicking for the offense this week.

Based on what I've read, I feel like Dayton should take this one. I'm just not sure Lumberton is prepared for district after playing in a 3a preseason. Dayton rolled through district last year and look to be a pretty sound team once again. They will be tough for anyone to beat. I say Dayton by 14. Good Luck to both teams.
