1. That is awesome... haven't found the flatties in my few trips this year
2. Well yesterday was definitely a bummer.  Fished CGC and East Pass along with about a hundred other boats.  Didn't see anyone do much good and all we came up on was a few schools of small trout.  The wind was pretty stiff all day.   Redfish saved the day though, as we picked up a few nice ones in the Entergy canal.
3. Hitting the water tomorrow morning.  Looking like a good day to be on the water, and I hope the fish cooperate. Thinking I will focus on Coffee Ground and Mouth of East Pass.
4. I want to make sure I am clear.  I have both Tx/ La license.  I launch in Texas.  I can fish anywhere on the lake.  I can go in the La. bayous on East side of lake as long as I keep Texas limits and abide by the La Redfish rule of no more than one red over 27.... Correct?  I am not worried about the Jetty question.  I stick to the lake.  I hate trailering all the way to Pleasure Island or Sabine Pass.
5. Thanks, that's what I thought but I wanted to be sure.
6. Okay, I've heard a lot of different opinions on this topic and I thought I'd pose the question on this board for anyone with a definitive answer.  The question deals with the use of La Non-Resident License. If I have a non-resident license and I launch in Texas and keep Texas limits am I free to fish in La waters?  I'm not interested in driving to La to launch, and the size/ bag limits aren't what I'm after.  I just want to be able to go up in the La bayous and fish.    Does anyone know for sure what the rule is here?  Am I required to launch in La. even if I am fishing Texas limits?
7. Hit the water today for the first time this year.  Had a great time, and caught a few solid redfish and a few trout.  Vu-Doo shrimp did the trick today.  Caught'em all on the North End of the lake.
8. I can never figure out how to post pics on here, but I have a few decent reports from recent trips.  The trout bite has been pretty decent on the North end of the lake in the shallows just east of the ship channel.  We've also caught some nice reds down around Bessie Heights.  I'm definitely enjoying the fishing, but I will enjoy it a lot more when the fall rolls around and it cools off a little... pretty tough to hide from the sun lately...lol
9. Hitting the surf in the A.M....cant' wait
10. Haven't heard anything, but this time of year is really good at night.  I like to fish under the first couple light poles.  Flounder hang out close to the pier.  Trout move through with the tides.  Its also good all the way at the end of the pier.  I've never had much luck with artificial on the pier.  Live shrimp and shad are always good and you can usually catch plenty around the launches.
11. Ready to give flounder gigging a try.  Anybody have recommendations on some decent areas of the Sabine fishery to gig?
12. Thanks for the advice on anchoring, I've heard that can be a real issue out there.
13. Planning on giving the Texas Jetty a shot Sunday morning.  I've fished out there in the past with others, but its been very limited.  I know there is a break to pass through.  We plan on targeting specks and reds and I may hang a big rod off the back to see if any bigger fish have come in from the gulf.  Any tips?  This will be the first time I've brought my own boat out there.
14. Ready for these winds to die down.. of course once get in the 95 degree temps and the extreme humidity I'll be killing for a lil breeze
15. Credeur was officially hired by Vidor School Board last night...welcome aboard coach
16. Foreman is a good one....Central/ Vidor has been my favorite game of the year for a long time.  Can't wait for the 2013 editition.  Friday Night Lights at its best!

18.
just heard from a reliable source that Credeur is coming to Vidor. 8)has there been an official announcement yet?
VIdor doesn't have a board meeting until the 20th, until then its speculation....but the rumor mill has him coming over to the Boneyard
19. Taking my nephew and his girlfriend fishing Saturday and hoping to put them on some trout and/ or reds.  Any suggestions on where we should go?  I've fished the last few Saturdays along the Louisiana shoreline and haven't had much luck, but I keep reading about all the fish they are catching over there...I'm not doing something right.
20. Amen to that Mat...In fact when I fish artificial only tournaments, I have to double check and triple check to make sure I took the cast net out of the boat.
21. I've been learning that the hard way...lol
22. What are the baits you can never leave home without when going out on Sabine???? For me its Sea Shads in Morning Glory, Chicken on a Chain, and Glow/ Chartreuse.... In hardbaits I have to have a few Catch 2000s and a couple She Dogs
23. Well, I've fished the last couple weekends and the stiff east wind is winning the battle...:(
24. I'm surprised how far off topic the moderator has gone with this thread...Congratulations Coach DuBois
