If they didn't call it for either side then it sounds about fair.They don't call alot of penalties the first week of games. Our referees were very good and very helpful. My line was a little in the neutral zone and they gave me an opportunity to correct it before they called it.

Congrats to all the boys who played their heart out on Saturday in the Heat!!!!! And congrats to the LUM-White team that busted my perfect Guru picks for the week. I think I went 8-1 for the week which is not bad considering I had only seen 2 of the 18 teams practice, and most of my picks were off message board info. ;D I learned one valuable lesson this week. Sometimes, New Indian talks the big talk, and his team does not always walk the walk. Not bad Hollywood.. looking forward to your locks for next week..

I know this is a place to post scores..But Just wanted to say Beaumont Bulldogs hosted a very good day of football..Very nice people.They are new to league ,but it was nice to play at a nice facility like that..Thank you Beaumont and good luck the rest of the year.

what's funny I went back and read the whole Dayton/WOS thread ,and not ONE time did you refer to it as a practice..Is there a difference when Dayton played WOS a week ago compared, to when Vidor played them last night? another thing that is funny is it lasted 18 pages and not ONE time did you complain about the thread lasting so many pages.. So is it a practice? Or is it that you want some threads to last 18 pages and some not? I am confused.... humming the tune of jeopardy right now....

This is a good post here and it says volumes for the Vidor community and where they are now after last night. Jeff Matthews is a friend of mine and I am proud for him, the Vidor team and the community. Yes, it was "just" a scrimmage, but nothing says you've arrived as a team and a program like putting it on WOS. WOS is one of, if not THE premier program in SE Texas. Vidor fans, coaches and players are excited about this and they should be. This was about the team getting better, but it was also about proving they turned the corner to themselves, their community and the rest of SE Texas and I feel they did that. Vidor has a good team and they should be proud. While it doesn't count on the records of either team, it counts mentally for Vidor. As for the person who smarted off about our 4000 scrimmage win streak, you need to pay attention. We didn't win EITHER of our scrimmages last year and still went undefeated in regular season and had the number 1 defense in 3A. Good post gasilla.. this sums it up..all it is basically is excitement..Vidor knows it is 0-0 right now..

If your going to post something then back it up with facts. You said you never seen a Pirate fan on this board in years..You must not be looking too hard then. Never once said Vidor is going to state..all the pirate fans on here stated it was a good showing..Go back and read my post..All i said was I like what I saw. You are right about one thing no one wins a scrimmage.I like our chances in district. That's all. Vidor is excited about the returners they have back and after two good showings in scrimmages ,they have a right to be. Right now everyone in district is 0-0. only time will tell but no matter what we will support our pirates if they go 0-10..

Really ...Well since you joined just 2 years ago how far we going back..? I joined in 2006..13 months before you joined..

: anyway hope all 15 (or was it 16? I am sure it will change anyway)starters that were out for WOS are healthy for Nederland and good luck to the mustangs.. They will be fine.. The Pirates apparently will have alot of naysayers and that's understandable.. Go Pirates!

I hope you aren't referring to me. I never said anything about a district championship.All I said was I like our chances. If we would have got beat 28 to 0. People like you would be saying "I told you so 'Vidor isn't that good". But since it was a good showing by Vidor you and your brother make excuses. I have heard everything from we didnt play starters ,to we had 3 out, and by the end of game it was turned into 5 starters out.. So when yall get a final number who was out then let us know. Go back and read my post and no where at all did I say we would win it all.I do think this is a Vidor team that could do well in district, but it will be tough. If you where there at the scrimmage and you had any football knowledge at all ,you would say Vidor and WOS are two pretty good teams. But of course that's asking alot of some people ,they would rather make excuses about starters,and sophmore running backs. Good luck to WOS and good luck to the Pirates.

No one said anything about crowning anyone..I really don't know what the year 2000 has to do with 2009..But when you have over 400 yards of offense against a WOS defense you have to like your chances..

yea by the third qtr. Vidor was playing alot of JV players also.

Congrats guys..Nothing to hang your head about..Great run...Had a living room full of boys from Vidor rooting you guys on.. Saw good sportmanship after game with the other kids coming up and talking to the BC kids... BC should be proud....

good point...and good post.. In Vidor we don't care if anyone likes/approves of our coach or not.We like him and more importantly the KIDS love him...
