One guy that I sat by ,his son was the OC, and so we would always watch what we said..Until about the third game and he was giving his own son heck.. "i told him dont run that censored anymore ,it dont work, It just dont work". he would always quote this NFL coach"There are three things that can go wrong when you pass it, and two of them are bad"..

When the team is in field goal range on 4th down and the whole stands are yelling go for it!! Then we do and we don't make it..You always have one guy say "come on coach you should have kicked the field goal"!!

I will start if off..some old man sitting around me kept yelling "it's a pass" and then Lumberton would run it.The he would yell "it's a run".then they would pass. It was getting comical so I started keeping track how many times he was wrong. He got like 4 correct all night long.(it was a 50-50 shot)Then he was one of the ones hollering at the OC what he should be doing..A quick description of him was tight coaching shorts from the 80's, tube socks that were stripped, and a tight shirt he wore in High School that said all the players numbers and names of when he played..

I figured this would be kinda fun! There has been alot of talk this week about my Pirates so I figured I would lighten the mood and see what are some of the craziest things you have heard fans say or yell from the stands! Don't say any coaches names and it is only meant to be fun and loosen things up on the board.. You know the guys who dont look like they ever played a down of football in there life and they are giving the coach Hell all game long!!

I respect that..WE will agree to disagree then.. just curious are you a Vidor fan or do you live or coach somehwere else?you dont have to answer I was just trying to keep up with some of your post. thanks

I just saw the list..that is embarrassing..Its not a bad living but it doesnt compare to what the other coaches in his district are making.Which only puts him at a disadvantage when recruiting other coaches to come coach at Vidor and stay there. Dayton has turf with a whole new stadium seating,PNG is going to get a new field and pressbox.Very dissappointing to see Vidor not attempting to keep up with salaries and facilities

Well I have stayed out of this debate for alot of reasons. Ol' Willy Wonka stated the talent in Vidor is "incredibly shallow".thats what got me into it. I understand we dont set the woods on fire with great athletes,but I do believe you are incorrect. In the sports at Vidor the last couple years we have been to the playoffs in Baseball.Softball,Basketbell,Soccer, and have an outstanding Powerlifting team.Boys and girls.I am sure I left out some sports or other programs. But don't come on here talking about the kids saying a whole town don't have any athletes. For now I am staying out of the rest of it.I will say this Matthews has done a great deal for Vidor and there athletic programs have came a long way. I know there is no one more dissappointed and frustrated then him right now. I do believe both sides have some valid points. Also It is getting interesting in the stands..It is almost comical at times..some people can get very creative with there criticism.But I do support Matthews and the rest of the coaching staff.Good Luck this Friday night!

good idea coop... maybe Pm the MOD and he could ask questions to the coach and you could hear your question asked on the site..

and like i said he wouldnt comment on a kids performance ,or put the blame on the kid when in fact it might be an athlete's fault.why dont we pass?? well because johnny cant throw or johnny cant catch..a coach will not blame it on that..so it will be hard to answer some questions

that is a good way.But like you said coaches dont have time.and if you are winning then there wouldnt be alot of questions anyway.if you are losing then you wouldnt want to come on here..

I am sure its the coaches that are on the "hot seat" as they say in college and NFL. a coaching profession is a "what have you done for me lately job".sad but true.

alot of times it has to do with players.coaches arent going to come on here and talk about kids that can or cant perform.discipline problems,performance problems,things like that. Example":why isnt Johnny playing QB?The coach thinks little johnny sucks but he would never say that in public.. why didnt we pass the ball?? truth be told little johnny cant catch..but a coach wouldnt come out and say that. so TVc is right, not in this format but maybe in person or someway like that. some questions could work but the majority wouldn't

I agree also..the athletes you have at WOS it dont have to be fancy..I remember when we use to play yall.they would just throw it out to the receiver right down the line of scrimmage.and they would swing the Rb out and let him make a play. But you are right when you go to the playoffs you will have to mix it up and get a little more complex

alot of schools have a film watching session at the booster club meeting..some coaches will answer questions there

well maybe.. ;D ;D nah I just try to stay positive and see what happens.Nederland had two losses last year and still snatched a playoff birth. I know its a reach, but you never know. I understand alot of people are upset and frustrated, but I am sure those coaches are just as upset and frustrated as everyone else. Vidor is young this year.I know its not an excuse but that is soemthing to take into consideration.time for another Bud!! ;D

He was the coach before Mathews.I dont know where he went to.I beleive he was at Vidor for 2 years.Mathews wasnt left with a whole lot to work with when he took over.there was a reason L-town fired him..

Ironically the Longview head coach was an asst.at Vidor a few years ago along with the current head coach at Sulphur right now.paul bourgeois was the OC and John King was the line coach.both are doing pretty well for themsleves these days.Very good coaches both with alot of passion for the game and they both make you play to your potential

dont count Dayton out yet...central had alot of fumbles in the first half against Nederland..PNg has two wins..LCM could still be in the mix.. still too early to tell..Ozen and Vidor needs a win this week to stay in the hunt.. This district is always full of surprises
