+1 skipmeister, good luck to the outgoing coaches. but what new head coach is gonna keep all the same coaches from the previous coaching staff, and be successful. to make a long story short, did coach harrison keep all the same coaches that dean colbert had on his staff ? can you teach a old dog new tricks ? would you put new wine in a old bottle ?  ;) just my opinion, good luck to coach magee and his new staff.  go panthers !!

When the smoke clear, Ozen  will have one of those four playoff spots. go panthers  ;) !!

I seen all three Beaumont schools spring football games, ( and I know this is just spring football). but central has the most skill position talent to work with. 7 returning starters on offense, they have 3 very athletic quarterbacks and lots of depth on both sides of the ball. If coach foreman can channel all that talent in the right direction, central will be a force to reckon with.

Ok back to the topic, coach Magee will have ozen competing for a playoff spot in district  20-4a. go panthers !!

JRidge that was deep and in depth. all of the area good coaches ( Neumann, Harrison, Matthews, Hooks, etc.) did not start off the first two or three years of their coaching careers going two or three rounds deep into the playoffs. so with that being said, lets give coach Magee a chance and see what happens. just my opinion. go panthers !!

Some times change is good, sure hope that the new coach can bring two or three new assistance coaches with him. Let him bring in some of his staff, and put his program in place. go panthers !!

You hit the nail on the head Cougar14, you're dealing with disadvantage kids, some from single parent homes, some are being raised by grandparents. And sports are the only way to deal with hardships in a positive way. I'm not a coach, and i think that it's a tough job trying to motivate kids, and teach them how to live a good, productive, honest life. Not just at Ozen, but all schools, coaches are trying to do whats best for the student athletes. I truly believe the coach made a honest mistake, and was unaware of the U.I.L. rule.        go panthers !!

From what i witness from the game friday night, both teams played aggressive and physical.the refs called the game both ways, the pirates are a good team and have some good shooters, but that night ozen was clearly the best team. thats with or without the refs calls. go panthers !!

I guess ladyraider03 was right. round two was a knockout by 47 points. :o

In 2007 ozen made it to the state championship game, but lost to dallas south oak cliff. oak cliff won state in 2005,2006, and 2007. ozen gave them a good game and lost by less than 10 points. but south oak cliff had too many experienced,veteran starters on that team

Congrats to both teams, great game. Weisbrod done his thing (must have had 30 points) but why get a 14 point lead in the third quarter and stall the ball and kill your momentum keep doing what you did to get that big lead. any way a win is a win.  go panthers !!

What type of defense, Ozen played when they defeated Nederland in the playoffs at lamar last year. man to man, zone, box and one, or street ball ?  go panthers !!
