As if Cougar14 bubble wasn't already busted, Coach Sumlins wife is white. Dang Cougar, better do better research man. That theory isn't working. ;)
Burst my bubble? Charlie Strong and Turner Gill's wife are also white. Not sure about Joker Phillips or Alan Embry but what does that have to do with anything? Unlike most of the posters on here all I do is research, that's why I get pms all the time that say "good research" or a parent asking me for an off the record opinion even sometime giving me very personal information about their kid. They say the resaon Turner Gill didn't get the Auburn job and Charlie Strong turned down the Tennessee job was because they had white wives and weren't going to be able to recruit in the SEC. I never brought that up because I don't think that was necessarily true. This is what Kevin Sumlin dealt with growing up early in Alabama and the reasons he left.[Hidden Content]. It's even more of a recruiting pitch to say hey, "I know what it's like coming from the South and having to go to school where you don't necessarily fit in." Do y'all think behind closed doors when he's talking to these kids parents it's all about the 12th man or yell practice? Y'all are off your rocker. He's recruiting kids from places that were some of the most segregated in the country. If so I guess you believe over 70% of minorities voted for Obama because he's a democrat? My parents make well over that $250k mark where the taxes are increased and both registered republicans but still voted for Obama, I'll give you one guess why. Not saying he's the best candidate but when given the opportunity people's minds can be swayed by external factors that are apolitical and the same can be said for Sumlin in the football spectrum. My 12 year old son is almost 6' tall, 140 lbs and bench presses 165 already and can touch the nets on a 10' goal but my 6 year old just beat him in a 40 yard dash. I say that to say one or all three of my sons will probably get football scholarships just like Dad and all three current cousins that are of age and playing FBS football or have FBS offers. Even though the A&M board of regents gave me my economics degree in '06 UT was still the school of choice for me to send my kids to just like two of my uncles and one of my cousins that is currently playing for the Horns . . . . That was until A&M made a hire that shifted the Texas recruiting landscape. *I know most of y'all will read the article and say this stuff happened a long time ago but you're old enough to remember it vividly, some of you were probably part of the "Seperate but Equal" doctorine so I don't expect you to understand and you probably never will. I'm sure y'all would have been right along with the group watching Emmit Till also, but hey, the Aggies are relevant again and that's all that matters.
His dad grew up in Alabama, not him. ::) I'm done with this argument because it's going south.

He went to Brebeuf Jesuit Prept. I looked the school up thinking it was maybe inner city and BAM it's 81% white school. Where are you getting South Alabama from? Coach Sumlin is from a prep school in Indiana, went to a mostly white high school, graduated from a mostly white Purdue University and your on here saying he knows where inner city kids parents are coming from when recruiting? Let's just say he's a great coach and getting the job done. I think I've broke up your attempt to divide people. Good try though.
BOOM! ;D
SMDH ;D

Good to see you getting into coaching! Parents with an 11 year old should give coach "Drop" a try. Great guy and knows baseball. Leighton ;)

Also prayers for the first responders in this. The police, fire, ems that had to endure 5 and 6 year old children shot to death laying lifeless in front of them. Sorry for being so graphic, but this incident is going to mess up alot of people. I've seen child deaths before in my line of work and you never forget the scenes. Very sad for everyone in that community. Words can't express all of the thoughts going through each Americans minds right now. This has to be the worst crime in American history!

They don't compete now in any of their sports besides maybe womens basketball. If your the door mat of the Southland, then what will you be in another conference. Remember, Be careful what you ask for.
You must not follow Lamar sports that closely.
Not as much any more. It's funny someone asks a question and nobody answers it besides people being smart@$$ about it. Looking on their athletic site, it appears LU struggling a bit. I'll give you golf most years, and soccer ::) when you look at basketball overall 1-9 this season so far (Good non-conference schedule), NCAA last year, but before that non-existant for atleast 5 years. Football is a laughing stock right now, Baseball has been sub par except 2010 season, and track someone pointed out came in 10th out of 11 teams last year according to LU site. I would think if your making NCAA playoffs year in and year out it would be the right direction to go to Sunbelt or whatever conference ya'll want them going to, but what do I know. Good luck on whatever LU decides. -
UPDATE!!!!!! I have been working very hard on putting this thing together. I really want the SC fans to fit in better on here so we can all be one big happy family. I was spending a little time looking for a guest speaker when the idea hit me. I loaded up in the truck a took to the road. I first stopped by Dan Hooks house and asked him. Then off to Larry Neuman, Stewart, Faircloth, Barbay up in Jasper, and Lee Fedora out in Navasota. I stopped by Georgetown and talked to Jason Dean, then to Katy to talk to Gary Joseph. They all listened to me and thought this idea to be a good one. Then one by one they asked me who is this uneducated group of fans belong to. One by one I spoke the words Summer Creek and one by one I was laughed at then asked to leave the premesis. As I loaded into my truck in Katy at my last stop Mr Joseph hollered Mr Jackthehammer I appreciate what you are doing but you have to understand my time is valuable and this would be a monumental time consumption as it would take me months to catch these people up to normal fans. I thanked him and accepted his sideline passes for Cowboy Stadium and was on my way home. If anyone out there would like to throw out an idea for a guest speaker please post it below here. Thanks Jackthehammer
Vince Young! He was someone that thought he had it all and finally realized that he wasn't that good. He's now broke and practically lives on the streets. This would be like fans of SC. They thought they were the greatest show on turf, but ran into GT and got TURF TOE! lol ;D -

Hopefully make to third round. Happy with playoff berth though.
We are losing most our O-Line, but since we run the spread and have blazing speed, we will be ok. OH wait, we run a 1954 offense and don't have speed. Oh well, at least we get to beat Dayton. ;)
I see the young kids in the neighborhood throwing the football around and I laugh to myself. I told my boys they are throwing the football for no reason because BH don't pass. Lol
