  1. That's what I'm talking about right there. I have a 6 yo, 10 yo, and now a 5 mo old. It's all game long. The baby is already wearing war paint on his face though ;D
  2. Good post, but the largest crowd this year in Liberty County will be when we play ya'll at Dayton.
  3. Disappointment for Who, maybe To Scooter and patitan when we go to the playoffs! I didn't see anyone picking us to finish towards the top in district. Oh, another MC basher.
  4. I read a Houston article that said Crosby was the pre-season pick for winning the district, but until someone knock BH off, I'm picking Barbers Hill. We play Crosby the second week of district, so I guess I'll see what they will have. BH, Crosby, Galena Park
  5. I think almost all of thier pitchers are left handed. Man, to have your top three pitchers be left handed. That's impressive. I haven't seen every US team, but I have seen most of them and I agree Lubbock is the best one. The Mexico team looks like the front runner on the international side, but I haven't seen all of the teams. I know Canada has a 1st baseman that the announcers said is 6'2" tall. He was standing next to Mexico player that was like 5'2". I wish I could've put that pic on here.
  6. That's cool, this forum has been a war zone lately. I'm on the edge trying defend PNG and everthing else I write about. I know they help, but heck I'm just trying to think of something to talk different about.
  7. I just put it out for discussion, I've noticed that the overall board has added some guys that get on here and rag people instead of just talking football. What up with this?
  8. I was told 2010 by someone very high up at LU. They just opened the fourth set of dorms and the fifth dorm is already being talked about. Football will be back before Dr. Simmons retires. I just ask one favor, PLEASE recruit locally.
  9. The Lubbock team is very strong, I watched them the other day on TV. Great pitching and hitting. Hopefully after pool play they can beat Chandler, Arizona again and play in the final game.
  10. Coach Louis' son is the WB Qb this year? I hope he does well, I like coach Lewis. He was dang good QB back in the day.
  11. O.K., Does scrimmages help teams get prepared for the season? My opinion is it's for the players on the bubble for the coach to see if there are a few more underclassman that can compete for a varsity postion. Most teams play a three or four game pre-district and I think that should be the time to work the kinks out. I don't feel these scrimmages are that beneficial. What do you think?
  12. Jasper has always produced good sports teams. I remember playing against the Bronson brothers when they were there. That was some athlete's right there.
  13. Jasper really looked good against us, and I liked the coaches enthusiasm. He stayed on them the entire time. Good luck this year.
  14. 99 lm was out coached. noway pn-g wins with db's covering wr's instead of linebackers!!! 60's was back then. the now is what matters.pn-g=j.v. compared to lm.
  15. I was at the scrimmage and PNG didn't look good at all. Man we have some small guys! I didn't see any blazing speed that's for sure. Hopefully they get thier act together before the season begins. #9 on defense was an animal for as small as he is. I will keep the hope alive, and still believe that we will have a good season. By the way, it looked like Jasper had just as many football players as we did. I was impressed with the QB Tatum and the entire OL.
  16. History between LaMarque and PNG 1967 PNG won 28-14 1990 LM won 28-0 1999 PNG won 22-6 2005 LM won 27-10 I wouldn't say that they take us as a jv team.
  17. Katy Tigers have to be mentioned somewhere in there. And they pack the stands as much as anybody. Sports is more than just winning. Sure, you want to win, but this is a tool to teach young men how to become leaders -- good husbands and good fathers. If you're going to be a good husband and father, then you have to learn how to put somebody before you. That's what we teach. When we're all working towards the same goal, then the individual success will take care of itself. That's why we play so many kids. They're all important to us." - Mike Johnston "For me and my kids, Katy football is defined as being unselfish. One of the reasons our defense is so successful is that we have a good offense. All the coaches work well together."- Gary Joseph during 2002 playoffs "Excellence is perfection. We try to make sure that our kids are as well-coached as they need to be. They have to understand what we are doing to understand what we want. They need to understand not what they're doing just at their positions, but at all positions. That is striving for perfection, but that is also being excellent."- Gary Joseph "We always want the best for them (players), but true leadership comes from within. I think the captains have as much to say as the coaches. And they are excellent leaders. Their peers know them well, and they pick great captains. It's not the Mike Johnston program or the Gary Joseph program. It's the Katy Tigers football program."- Mike Johnston "Never, never, never, never give up."- Jason Debusk "People look at the bracket and they see teams like Odessa Permian, Plano and Converse Judson. And then they see Katy . 'Where the heck is Katy ?' That's what they all want to ask. But we're not surprised to be here. Maybe it's good that nobody knows about us. Maybe they'll overlook us and we'll surprise some people."- Tiger RB Bill Jatzlau in 1994 prior to the Tigers' semi-final game against two-time defending champ Converse Judson. Katy beat Judson 42-19 that weekend. "We didn't win because of talent. We won it with heart. These guys are the greatest guys in the world. These coaches are the greatest coaches in the world. The 1997 Katy Tigers dared to dream, and we lived that dream because God blessed us."- Tiger LB Rusty Bucy after 1997 state championship win over Longview "We pound on people. We pound on people because we're bigger and stronger. We pound people and beat them down. We pound them. Pound, pound, pound." - Tiger OL Walter Wigfall after 1997 state championship win "When Drew went down, I begged the coaches to let me go in at receiver. I was tired at the end, but I was playing with the heart that the Katy Tigers show every day."- Tiger DB/WR Ryan Mouton following state title win against Southlake Carroll “We never stopped believing, no matter what the scoreboard said. We play all out for four quarters with the eye of the Tiger.â€- Tiger WR Bobby Harris in 2005 after state quarterfinal win over Cy Falls. The Tigers scored 15 points in the final 89 seconds to win the game. "When excellence becomes tradition, greatness has no limits."
  18. The only reason I put that is because Vidor is tough every year whether you agree or not, and the game is at Vidor. Ask Ned about Vidor. It's just a prediction, and I hope I'm wrong.
  19. They looked good yesterday and it appears they are learning the new offense.
  20. sell, Will a huuricane hit our area this year? J/K Will this be the year a team from this area will win state?
  21. I think he's referring to the new turf and the stadium upgrades that will be done after this football season. hopefully build the stands like Dayton, but even bigger.
